After finding out about the show nearly two years ago, it's hard to believe that Velma will be premiering next week! Thanks to VelmaBrasil on Twitter, we've got some images from the show, which can be seen below. One of the screenshots reveals that the Malt Shop will be reimagined for the show.

It appears Velma will be premiering a bit sooner than we thought...in three weeks! WB-Discovery put out an official press release with all of their January TV shows on their website, and listed Velma as premiering on HBO Max on Thursday, January 12, 2023.
TVLine has confirmed that two new episodes will be posted every week. Given the previous confirmation that the first season will be ten episodes, that means the first season will conclude on February 9, 2023. In addition, an edited teaser has been released in Australia, and Fox 8 will be airing the show beginning January 15. However, the series will be able to be streamed on demand the same day as in the US. I imagine that the series will be treated similarly in other countries. TVPassport has also confirmed all of the titles for the episodes in season 1 for us: 1. Velma 2. The Candy (Wo)man 3. Velma Kai 4. Velma Makes a List 5. Marching Band Sleepover 6. The Sins of the Fathers and Some of the Mothers 7. Fog Fest 8. A Velma in the Woods 9. Family (Wo)man 10. The Brains of the Operation For the 100th anniversary of Warner Brothers, a new line of Funko Pops are being released according to HotStuff4Geeks.com. The set includes Looney Tunes characters dressed up as members of the SCooby gang. The new figures include the Tasmanian Devil as Scooby, Daffy Duck as Shaggy, Tweety as Velma, Bugs Bunny as Fred, Lola as Daphne, and Bugs Bunny inside the Mystery Machine. The figures are all now available for pre-order on Funko's official website.
Earlier this month, Wendy's finally unveiled the Scooby-Doo toys they'd talked about releasing back in October. The toys are six pop-up mystery playsets including "What a Night for a Knight," "A Clue for Scooby-Doo," "Foul Play in Funland," "Spooky Space Kook," "A Night of Fright Is No Delight" and "Jeepers, It's the Creeper." Many of the sets are already being sold on eBay. Wendy's plans to give away one of the toys in every happy meal through February 2023 according to AllFastFoodToys.com.
Two listings have popped up on Amazon UK for new Scooby-Doo films. The first listing is for Scooby-Doo and Krypto Too!, which Amazon UK says will be released in the UK on September 25, 2023. The second listing is for a completely new Scooby-Doo film that has not yet been announced. The film is titled Scooby-Doo and the Haunted High Rise, and Amazon UK lists a date of October 1, 2023, only a week after Krypto Too's release. It's likely one of those dates will probably be changed, since I don't think they would release the films one week apart, but it seems like we may be getting two Scooby DTVs again next year. A big thank you to Thomas for finding these links and sharing them with me!
Courtesy of GamesRadar+, here are the Scooby-Doo comic solicitations for February 2023. Note that the Where Are You comic is releasing on the first week of the month, rather than the end of the month as per usual. SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU? #120 Written by DEREK FRIDOLFS Art by VALERIO CHIOLA Cover by DEREK FRIDOLFS $2.99 US | 32 pages ON SALE 2/7/23 When Velma inherits a vase from a deceased relative, Mystery Inc. knows just the place to get it appraised—a televised auction house! But after they arrive, an old lamp up for sale creates a smoke cloud that releases a djinn bent on destroying the valuable antiques on display! And it might take more than just wishes to get the djinn back in the lamp… THE BATMAN & SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERIES #5
Written by SHOLLY FISCH Art and cover by DARIO BRIZUELA $2.99 US | 32 pages ON SALE 2/14/23 Pro tennis player Bette Kane asked Batman for help, and Mystery Inc. is coming to Gotham to join the search for a priceless collection. She has snacks, so Shaggy and Scooby are on board…at least until they hear that they're chasing a pack of motorcycle-thieving rat people! The website Vulture.com made a post earlier today about upcoming TV shows on HBO Max. Within this post, Velma is mentioned as having a January 2023 release date. There is no information about a specific date, but this seems to be our first clue to the month that the show will be released. However, it should be noted that no other sites have listed this release date; but Vulture tends to usually be pretty reliable, and at least for me, that pushes this beyond just being a rumor. I still wouldn't interpret this as being set in stone, though.
Variety has reported that voice acting legend Kevin Conroy, who was best known for voicing Batman, has passed away. He died after a battle with cancer on November 10, 2022, and he was 66 years old. Kevin voiced Batman in "What a Night, for a Dark Knight!" from Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?
Fellow Guess Who guest star Mark Hamill paid tribute to his fellow voice actor: "Kevin was perfection. He was one of my favorite people on the planet, and I loved him like a brother. He truly cared for the people around him – his decency shone through everything he did. Every time I saw him or spoke with him, my spirits were elevated.” WB also released a statement expressing their condolences to Conroy's loved ones and fans: “Warner Bros. Animation is saddened by the loss of our dear friend Kevin Conroy. His iconic performance of Batman will forever stand among the greatest portrayals of the Dark Knight in any medium. We send our warmest thoughts to his loved ones and join fans around the world in honoring his legacy.” Due to an unexplained circumstance, the second issue of the rebooted Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries did not release on Tuesday (November 8) as expected. According to the League of Comic Geeks website, the comic has been delayed two weeks from its original release date. The comic will now be released on Tuesday, November 22. This schedule change did not affect any other comics in this series, and the third issue is still scheduled to be released on December 13 as planned.
A brand new DVD has been announced for release in the UK, according to Amazon. Camp Scare. The runtime will be 838 minutes and the set will cost 30 pounds. This will be released on November 21, 2022. It will be released two weeks after a four pack of movies is also released on November 7, which will include Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders and Loch Ness Monster. Thanks to ScoobyDooUK for the info!
