Two days after the final issue of the rebooted series was released, ComicsBeat has announced that Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries is being rebooted for its third iteration. The series will return from its very short hiatus on January 2, 2024 with its first issue. Instead of the 12 issue run both previous iterations of the comic series have had, this time, the series will be ongoing with no planned end date.
A number of plotlines for the series were announced, including teaming up with Nightwing to investigate a circus haunted by Deadman (issue 1), meeting Solomon Grundy in Slaughter Swamp (issue 2), running into Catwoman (issue 3), as well as a bowling museum haunted by a giant, Gotham City citizens turning into gargoyles. Here's the official solicitation for the first issue: Written by SHOLLY FISCH Art and cover by DARIO BRIZUELA $2.99 US | 32 pages ON SALE 1/2/24 A new ongoing series teams up Gotham’s greatest detectives with Crystal Cove’s teen sleuths! The big top’s the place for thrills and chills—even more so when a traveling circus is haunted! But even Scooby and the gang don’t realize just how chilling it is for Nightwing…because this is Haly’s Circus, Dick Grayson’s childhood home! Artists Dario Brizuela and Scott Jeralds, as well as and writers Sholly Fisch, Amanda Deibert, Ivan Cohen and Matthew Cody, will all return to the series. A new writer, J. Torres, and a new artist, Megan Huang, will also be joining the creative team of this series. In an interview with ComicsBeat, Ivan Cohen revealed that the rebooted series will feature more deep cuts from Batman lore, including one issue combining the John Byrne era of Superman and the Tom King era of Batman. It has been confirmed that the new reboot will restart the comic numbering sequence, and will start again on issue 1.

Thanks to AIPTComics giving us a sneak peak of the DC solicitations for the first week of December, we now have the cover art and description for Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? #125 a month in advance. Since Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries will release its final issue next month and Where Are You is a bimonthly comic, there will be no Scooby-Doo comics released in November.
SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU? #125 Written by JOHN ROZUM Art and cover by RANDY ELLIOTT $2.99 US | 32 pages ON SALE 12/5/23 A mysterious laughter has been haunting the countryside outside Coolsville. It’s up to Mystery Inc. to crack the case of the Hyena Man before the spotty rumors drive the townspeople away for good! Since all of the Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries comics will finish publishing in September, we'll only have one comic solicitation every other month for the foreseeable future for the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You comics. I'm also not really clear on what's going on with when they're releasing the solicitations. They used to be always on the third Friday of the month, but these past couple of months, it just seems to be a random day with no pattern as to when the solicitations are announced. Here's October's solicitation from GamesRadar+:
SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU? #124 Written by IVAN COHEN Pencils by WALTER CARZON Inks by HORACIO OTTOLINI Cover by WALTER CARZON $2.99 US | 32 pages ON SALE 10/3/23 The Mystery Machine takes the spotlight when the gang is invited to interview on a famous televised car show! But when a handful of vintage cars goes missing from the airplane-hangar garage set, Mystery Inc. is on the case. Can the gang catch the culprit before the Mystery Machine disappears, too? Apologies this post was a bit delayed, as I just discovered this news was announced on Tuesday and I missed it. Typically, the site I get these solicitations from, GamesRadar+, always posts the solicitations on the third Friday of the month, which was last Friday. For whatever reason, they did not publish anything last Friday, so I had assumed perhaps they were delayed to this Friday since this was a bit of an unusual month in the sense we had five Fridays instead of the usual four. However, apparently the solicitations were posted in the middle of the week, without any explanation as to why it wasn't posted on the usual day, so who knows what happened.
Our only solicitation this month is for the final issue of The Batman and Scooby-Doo Mysteries, which will mean there will be some changes to the comic publishing schedule. Beginning in October 2023, we will only be getting Scooby-Doo comics bimonthly, as opposed to the current schedule where we've gotten 1-2 Scooby comics every month. The final The Batman and Scooby-Doo Mysteries comic will be released on September 12, 2023. THE BATMAN & SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERIES #12 Written by IVAN COHEN Art and cover by DARIO BRIZUELA $2.99 US | 32 pages ON SALE 9/12/23 In our time-twisting final issue, Mystery Inc. meets Batman Beyond! Can the retired Batman and his protegé, Terry McGinnis, send our crime-stoppers back from the future? Maybe, but first they’ll have to save Neo-Gotham from the Royal Flush Gang and solve a particularly challenging mystery. (And not just the one about safely parking the Mystery Machine with its very expired plates!) We've got quite a few comics for once in the August solicitations! Although I guess technically it's just the same number as typical for August specifically, as for some reason, a comic from September was also announced a month early. Interestingly to note, the other versions of Fred, Velma and Daphne have their races changed similarly to the recent series Velma.
