So, even though the series gets restarted at #1 each time, the volumes are still being treated as if it's still one series? Huh.

I also feel that is really confusing for fans, as they just say #7-12 in the description but don't say which one. Then again, I guess the individual comics don't differentiate between the first and second versions either (they just say #1 or whatever number). It's really odd to me too.

Comic book companies (particularly DC, but they all do it) are notorious for restarting existing series at #1. It started in the 90s as a way to drive the collectors market and to the frustration of fans everywhere, continues to this day. 10/29/2023 02:42:15 pm
I don't really follow other comics beyond Scooby, so good to know that it's not just exclusive to this series. I guess it makes sense that it would benefit the collectors market, but I still find it really frustrating. You're right that it's kinda like how chaotic the Scooby DVD releases are haha.

I don't have data to back it up, but I'd bet good money that any given comic book from the 90s on sold more #1s than any other number in its run. 10/30/2023 08:46:49 am
Ah, I hadn't thought of that, but that is a really good point about the #1s, interesting that trope has persisted since the 90s.

Thanks so much for pointing that out! I don't know why it didn't copy/paste right, but the description is there now.
