This was not a great episode, admittedly.
The location and backgrounds were the only thing I liked about the episode. The characters themselves were a bit bland, and I felt like Fred, Daphne and Velma's dialogue was almost interchangeable. None of the jokes were particularly funny, and knowing Jim Gaffigan's humor style from his comedy specials, this felt watered down and unlike his character. The monster was okay, nothing horrible but nothing special either. While I didn't hate this episode, I felt like this episode was just lackluster. It felt rushed, and none of the jokes were particularly funny. There was just nothing notable in this episode. And now it's time for the Star-Studded Scoreboard! Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. Elementary, My Dear Shaggy! 2. When Urkel-Bots Go Bad! 3. The Cursed Cabinet of Professor Madds Markson! 4. Revenge of the Swamp Monster! 5. The Scooby of a Thousand Faces! 6. Peebles' Pet Shop of Terrible Terrors! 7. Ollie Ollie In-come Free! 8. The Fastest Food Fiend! 9. A Mystery Solving Gang Divided

Here's a clip from the Weird Al Yankovic episode to be released tomorrow, entitled "Attack of the Weird Al-losaurus." Thanks to IkeDaKil for sharing this with me!
Here's some new concept art which was just revealed for the 2020 theatrical film SCOOB!. The art features Scooby, whose design had been previously announced, and also revealed what Shaggy will look like in the film.
Thanks to Jayden for sharing this with me. What do you all think of the concept art? BloodyDisgusting has just informed us that Scooby-Doo! Return to Zombie Island will be releasing a month early at Wal-Mart! As a special Wal-Mart exclusive for the 50th anniversary, the DVD will be available at Wal-Mart on the same day as it is released digitally, Tuesday, September 3. The DVD will not be available anywhere else until one month later, on Tuesday, October 1.
The film will also be released on DVD in the UK on Monday, September 9. Check out another trailer for this film as well thanks to Scooby-Doo News on Instagram! The Harlem Globetrotters had many interesting twists and turns in their careers, besides their three appearances in The New Scooby-Doo Movies. In 1986, after 22 years in the Harlem Globetrotters, Meadowlark Lemon had a sudden spiritual awakening and went to school to become a minister. He was officially ordained as a minister in 1986.
Pablo "Pab" Robertson got his start in basketball playing for Loyola University in college, but was completely kicked off the team due to consistently getting very poor grades in all his courses. Despite this, he still was drafted by the Globetrotters for his excellent basketball skills. Hi everyone!
In just three short weeks, Scooby-Doo will have been on the air for 50 years. Given this, I wanted to do something special for the 50th anniversary on the blog, and boy, do we have a lot of special things coming up here on ScoobySnax.com! Firstly, Scooby-Doo has one of the biggest fanbases out there, and there are a lot of super cool people in here that I've met over the years. This initiative has been on my heart for a long time, and I thought the 50th anniversary is a perfect time to do it. Each day of September on the blog, one awesome Scooby fan will be spotlighted with an interview-style profile that allows you to get to know them. While there may be some fans you know spotlighted, I guarantee you there will be a lot you don't! I picked a diverse selection of Scooby fans, from frequent commenters on this blog, members on ScoobyAddicts, super Scooby fans on Facebook and Twitter, dedicated fanfiction writers, plus some good friends I've met over the years. What inspired me to do this is how self-categorized Scooby fans sort of are. I go on a number of different Scooby-related sites to talk to fans, and from what I've noticed, there's very little crossover between them. For example, the people I talk to on this site are completely different from those I interact with on ScoobyAddicts or Fanfiction.net, or wherever else. I wanted to give you all a chance to meet a diverse selection of Scooby-Doo fans from all over the Internet, because all 30 of these spotlights are genuinely super cool people who deserve to be recognized. The fan spotlights will begin September 1, and a new one will be posted every single day through September 30. In addition to this little Fan Spotlight initiative, I also realize I've been slacking on the editorial articles a bit lately. Because of this, I'll be posting a brand new article every Friday of September to celebrate the 50th anniversary, covering a wide variety of topics. As always, there will also be fun facts posted every Monday on the site, but this month, each week's fun fact will be written by a special guest author! Along the way, I also plan to just have some fun and do some new experimental weekly blog series (like Fun Fact of the Week) for the duration of the month, including Minor Mention Wednesdays and a poll every Sunday. And hey, who knows, if you all enjoy them, maybe I'll keep them going after the anniversary month is over. I want to make this milestone month in Scooby's history super special for fans on this site, and I really hope you're excited as I am about Scooby's anniversary and what's in store on this site! There may also be a few additional little surprises throughout the month, so stay tuned! Here's a sneak preview for tomorrow's episode, entitled "The Fastest Food Fiend." I don't usually like going off of sites like this to announce information, but this is the title TheTVDB lists. Based on Day 24 of the Scooby 50th anniversary countdown calling Jim Gaffigan a "fast food fiend," I'm led to believe that this title is the correct one. Here's the premise for this episode, from the YouTube description of the video:
When Scooby and Shaggy compete in a fast food eating competition sponsored by the Doc Tally restaurant chain, they meet their ultimate challenge eating against none other than comedian Jim Gaffigan! And there’s a horrible monster trying to stop the whole contest from finishing. Can Shaggy, Scooby and our mystery solving gang team up with Jim Gaffigan to save the fast food competition, and themselves? Here are the Scooby comic solicitations for November 2019, courtesy of...no one! Because there aren't any this month!
Due to Scooby-Doo! Team Up being cancelled, and Where Are You being bimonthly, there are no Scooby-Doo comics set to be released in November 2019. This will be the very first time there hasn't been a monthly Scooby comic in 24 years. The last month without a Scooby comic was July 1995. (Yeah, I guess there was already a fun fact this week, but this was too interesting not to share!) I've read some other reviews of this episode, and know that quite a few people were annoyed by Urkel's antics in this one. But I for one thought this was a great episode, and I'd even go so far as to say that it was one of my favorites of the series.
I've personally never seen Family Matters (the show Urkel was on), but Urkel was an enjoyable character for me. I thought the silliness he brought to the table in this episode was pretty funny, particularly the flashback to Urkel's court case and the ending of him blowing up the Mystery Machine. The location of the museum itself was pretty cool-looking, and it was perfect contextually given Urkel's habit of breaking things. I was surprised that there was an animation error in which "Coal Mine" was spelled "Coal Minn." I didn't think WB would still make such a silly mistake like that in today's day and age! The villain being a redesign of the Green Ghosts from "A Night of Fright is No Delight" was kind of cool. I can see how one might think that it was just another lazy repurposing of an original villain, but I think it fit well here and the villain being a "Technomancer" made it different enough that it worked. I've had a bit of an issue with Scooby seeming a bit off in past episodes. In this episode, I thought this issue was fixed. All the character dynamics were pretty spot on! Velma seemed a tad bit awkward at points, but it was still pretty good. Overall, while this episode wasn't perfect, I thought it was still very entertaining and a good silly episode to watch when you want to just relax and turn your brain off. For fun, I'm also going to start something new in these reviews. I'm going to give my overall ranking of the episodes from the series so far, and update the list with each review. Here's where my list, which I'm dubbing the Star-Studded Scoreboard (given this is a team-up series), currently stands (from best to worst): Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. 8. A Mystery Solving Gang Divided In a few cases, brief animation glitches actually inadvertently cause the villains to become more frightening than the animators originally intended with the correct designs. The two best examples of this are The Sky Skeleton ("The Scary Sky Skeleton," The Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show) and ("That's Monstertainment!," 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo). There are several others, though I picked the two most obvious examples. Below are the comparisons: Zomba Sky Skeleton I suppose you could argue this is more of a fun "opinion" than a fun fact of the week, so what do you all think? Does the animation glitch genuinely make the villains more frightening in these two cases?
