It was a close race between three options in last week's poll! Here are our final results:
What is your favorite Scooby-Doo episode taking place in Latin America? The Fiesta Host Is an Aztec Ghost - 13 Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico - 12 Jeepers, It's the Jaguaro - 10 Scooby-Doo! Ghastly Goals - 6 El Bandito - 6 South America and Transylvania - 4 3-D Struction - 4 Dark Night of the Hunters - 4 Twenty Thousand Screams Under the Sea - 2 The Dinosaur Deception - 2 The Fast and the Wormious - 2 Don't Go Near the Fortress of Fear - 1 Scooby's Bull Fright - 1 The Mark of Scooby - 0 "Scooby in Wonderland" and "Scooby's Swiss Miss" from The Richie Rich / Scooby-Doo Hour featured character designs by Jack Kirby, who was the man that created several popular Marvel Comics superheroes, including Captain America, The Hulk, and the X-Men.
Decades later, a character from What's New Scooby-Doo? would be named as a reference to another character created by Jack Kirby in 1978. Dr. Armand Zola from "Uncle Scooby and Antarctica" was named to reference Arnim Zola, a Marvel villain created by Kirby, who transferred his mind into a robot body to preserve his consciousness. Arnim Zola has appeared in both the 2011 Captain America film and the sequel. Thanks to Shadowscooby for suggesting the idea this week's poll! Here are the results for last week's poll:

Since Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries will release its final issue next month and Where Are You is a bimonthly comic, there will be no Scooby-Doo comics released in November.
SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU? #125 Written by JOHN ROZUM Art and cover by RANDY ELLIOTT $2.99 US | 32 pages ON SALE 12/5/23 A mysterious laughter has been haunting the countryside outside Coolsville. It’s up to Mystery Inc. to crack the case of the Hyena Man before the spotty rumors drive the townspeople away for good! As I've mentioned in a few comment sections before on this site, I'm a big appreciator of The New Scooby-Doo Movies era Batman. He's just so sweet and polite as compared to his usual dark, gritty self that we see in modern adaptions of Batman lol. As most readers probably know, I am also really into the fanfiction side of the Scooby fandom, and I've admittedly thought about writing a joke fanfic for many years now. After the recent announcement of the Krypto crossover and a discussion with a friend about how much we both appreciated "Gentlemanly Batman" from The New Scooby-Doo Movies, I decided to finally do it. Feel free to disregard this post if you're not interested, but I just wanted to make a quick plug for this silly little project of mine.
Scooby-Doo & Gentlemanly, Batman Too! is a tongue-in-cheek story that's written as a "lost" episode of The New Scooby-Doo Movies, and also includes the same satirical tone that Night of the Living Doo did. The story entails the gang being invited on an all-expenses paid cruise by Batman and Robin, after unintentionally capturing the Penguin. The gang and Dynamic Duo quickly discover that another of Batman's foes, The Riddler, has followed them on the cruise, attempting to create chaos and confuse people with his riddles. Because one of my favorite aspects of The New Scooby-Doo Movies is Sassy Fred, that characterization of him is also included. While many of my other fanfics have included some element of humor, this fanfic was basically just me being goofy and it's not a story that's intended to be taken seriously at all. The fanfic is now published on Fanfiction.net, AO3 and the ScoobyAddicts forum if you're interested in checking it out. Over the years, many fans have wondered if there was a deleted scene in "Sandy Duncan's Jekyll and Hydes," due to Shaggy mentioning running into King Kong, despite that we never actually see it happen. Some official confirmation that there was originally a scene featuring King Kong has surfaced online. One of the character designers for the show, Alex Toth, released a book titled Genius in 2014. In a preview of this book, a drawing of King Kong is included, with the storyboard labeled as being from "Sandy Duncan's Jekyll and Hydes."
The mirror doppelgänger scene that is seen in a number of Scooby-Doo episodes, including "Never Ape an Ape Man," "Mystery in Persia" and "A Scooby-Doo Valentine," is actually a trope that was made famous by a 1933 spy thriller. The film is a Marx Brothers' spy film, titled Duck Soup, which centers around spies trying to overthrow a newly appointed president of a country. You can watch the mirror scene that inspired the trope above.
"Aloha, Scooby-Doo!" wins last week's poll with 48 votes, which is double the votes that the second place option, "A Tiki Scare Is No Fair," got (24 votes). "Hawaii and Norway" came in third place with five votes, and only one person voted for "South Seas Scare."
Bleeding Cool has announced that in an upcoming Teen Titans Go! season 8 episode, Scooby-Doo will make an appearance. The episode will center around the Teen Titans visiting WB-Discovery Studios to celebrate the 100th anniversary. Scooby was not explicitly mentioned in the press release, but a picture of Scooby, Shaggy and Fred was included, confirming that they will appear in this episode. It is unknown if Daphne and Velma will also appear. They will also be teaming up with other classic Hanna-Barbera characters including The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Magilla Gorilla, Yogi and Boo Boo Bear, Wally Gator, and Quick Draw McGraw. There are currently no details regarding whether Scooby and the gang just make a brief cameo, or if they have a larger role in the episode. The episode will air September 23, 2023 at 9:30am (the timezone is not specified, but I presume it's Eastern Standard Time).
