Check out this sneak excerpt of the upcoming novel Daphne & Velma: The Vanishing Girl, which will be released this Tuesday, March 3 in stores. So far, I'm super impressed! There are tons of references to SDMI, from Crystal Cove to Marcy. And plus, Shaggy, Scooby and Fred are in this novel, despite not being in the live-action film that this is based off of. I'll definitely be buying this on Tuesday!

According to CBR, the rest of Guess Who season 1 will begin airing on the Boomerang streaming service and app in the US this Thursday, February 27. A new episode will once again be posted every single Thursday on the Boomerang streaming service, through May 21. The first episode to air will not be Whoopi Goldberg, or any of the episodes that recently aired in the UK last week. The first episode will feature Jeff Foxworthy and will be called "The Wedding Witch of Wainsly Hall." A sneak preview clip of this episode is above.
*Update: The series did not return on February 27 for an unexplained reason. It is currently unknown why CBR reported that it would return, and when the episodes will actually air.* Thanks to Scoobyfan4ever, who is amazing, we have the remaining eight titles for the first season of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? from Amazon Video. I can't believe we have a Hex Girls episode! The Maddie Ziegler and Jeff Dunham ones sound interesting too!
Avalon Hill is releasing an Scooby adaption of Betrayal at the House on the Hill, entitled Scooby-Doo! Betrayal at Mystery Mansion! Bleeding Cool dishes up the info on the game:
Betrayal at Mystery Mansion is jam-packed with more goodies than a Super Shaggy Sandwich, including all new tiles, tokens, cards, and 25 haunts based on popular Scooby-Doo episodes and movies. Once players find enough clues to learn what's really going on, the haunt begins and one player switches sides to play the role of the Monster. Those meddling kids then try to stop them before they carry out their sinister plan, hopefully pulling off the mask to reveal it was Mr. Wickles all along! "Betrayal at House on the Hill is a perennial favorite in the board game world and Scooby-Doo is such a natural fit," said Rob Daviau who acted as a consultant on this project. "We managed to keep the mystery, spookiness, and high replayability of the original game, while providing simple-to-learn rules for younger audiences and people new to Betrayal." The game will be released May 15, 2020 to coincide with the release of Scoob! Thanks so much to Greybishop for the info! This is the episode I've been looking forward to since the series was announced!
I'm definitely a fan of Halsey, and enjoy her edgy, rebellious personality...but we didn't really see that here. She got watered down, sadly, as this episode was. This episode wasn't really offensively bad in any way, but at the same time, it felt like there wasn't really anything memorable about it and it was very easily forgettable (the monster particularly). I did think it was sort of mean for Scooby to throw Shaggy up on a stage in front of thousands of people without him having any time to prepare! The one joke I did find funny, albeit it very childish was Shaggy's poem in the shower, "I stink, therefore, I smell!" Clearly the next Robert Frost right there lol. They should totally release this one in the US now though, with her current song "You Should Be Sad" charting (which, ironic to this episode, has the lyric "Won't see your alligator tears/I've had enough of them" in it). For the ranking this time, I placed it just below Sia's episode. It had the same level of forgettableness that Sia's episode did, but the creepy doppelgänger ghost bumped it a step up from this episode for me. Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. The Sword, The Fox and the Scooby-Doo! 2. One Minute Mysteries! 3. Elementary, My Dear Shaggy! 4. When Urkel-Bots Go Bad! 5. What a Night, for a Dark Knight! 6. Attack of the Weird Al-osaurus! 7. The Cursed Cabinet of Professor Madds Markson! 8. The Nightmare Ghost of Psychic U! 9. Revenge of the Swamp Monster! 10. The Scooby of a Thousand Faces! 11. Now You Sia, Now You Don't! 12. The New York Underground! 13. Hollywood Knights! 14. Quit Clowning! 15. Peebles' Pet Shop of Terrible Terrors! 16. Ollie Ollie In-come Free! 17. The Fastest Food Fiend! 18. A Mystery Solving Gang Divided In "Scooby's Trip to Ahz" from The Richie Rich / Scooby-Doo Hour, the Yellow Brick Toad's voice is the voice actor doing an impression of Jimmy Durante, the narrator of the classic Frosty the Snowman special from Rankin-Bass. This was very likely a cultural reference to another magical world, the town that Frosty the Snowman took place in.
Personally, I've always been fond of the gentlemanly Batman from The New Scooby-Doo Movies haha. Though they're both good episodes, I probably enjoy "The Caped Crusader Caper" just a little more than "The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair" because it's a fun comedy romp and I like the atmosphere of it.
The results for last week's poll were interesting! Admittedly, I had never watched many of these before - Rickety Rocket, The Amazing Chan Clan, Inch High Private Eye and Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels are all shows I've still never seen to this date. Of the ones I have seen, I would have to say Goober and the Ghost Chasers is my favorite just because it takes on the twist of having real ghosts, whereas many of the other ones were more adventure-based and had the kids capturing criminals rather than monsters (though some monsters were in The Funky Phantom). Here's what you all said: What is your favorite "Scooby Clone" series? Josie and the Pussycats - 14 Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels - 13 Speed Buggy - 7 Goober and the Ghost Chasers - 4 The Funky Phantom - 2 Rickety Rocket - 2 Inch High Private Eye - 2 Jabberjaw - 1 Clue Club - 1 Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids - 0 The Amazing Chan Clan - 0 This one was a bit of a disappointment after the last two were so strong.
Honestly, this episode only really had two things going for it. I liked the crazy old lady just because she was spooky, and I also really liked the creepy atmosphere of the castle and catacombs. It was also cool how the office looked the same as the one in "Never Ape an Ape Man." However, everything else was done poorly. George Takei's lines seemed stilted, the jokes with the gang being obsessed with his beautiful voice didn't work, and even the "ohhh my!" gag got old after a while. The villain wasn't great either, and his voice and laugh sounded really cheesy and fake. I did sort of like how he could switch in between suits of armor, though the explanation that he just did it super fast while jumping in and out of secret passages was dumb. I know it's a cartoon, but the explanation even seems fake for a cartoon. There's no possible way he could have changed out of one suit of armor into another in a matter of seconds without anyone seeing. The episode's pace felt horribly rushed too. Barely any clues were found, and it felt like we were just going from place to place so fast that it was unenjoyable to watch. 12. Hollywood Knights! 13. Quit Clowning! 14. Peebles' Pet Shop of Terrible Terrors! 15. Ollie Ollie In-come Free! 16. The Fastest Food Fiend! 17. A Mystery Solving Gang Divided Another great episode we've got here!
This episode is unlike any other episode in the series and I think you'd be doing a disservice if you compared it. You could certainly say that it has major continuity issues, but honestly, looking at it as a standalone, I was really happy with how this episode chose to do something different. It's a breath of fresh air after all the forced nostalgia to see something different executed well. I thought Scooby and Shaggy's relationship with Barry Allen was super cute! I liked how they redid all the classic mysteries (viewing it as a separate universe) and the interactions between The Flash and the gang were fun and quirky. I liked the giant teddy bear as the main villain, as well as the reference to The Joker! I thought it was interesting how they had Simone from "Quit Clowning" be the witch instead of Zeb. This wasn't perfect, but it was different, and I really enjoyed that. So, another surprise for y'all with the star-studded scoreboard, and I'm sure I'll get much disagreement with this, but... Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. The Sword, The Fox and the Scooby-Doo! 2. One Minute Mysteries! 3. Elementary, My Dear Shaggy! 4. When Urkel-Bots Go Bad! 5. What a Night, for a Dark Knight! 6. A Mystery Solving Gang Divided Wow, what a great episode!
I thought Mark Hamill was the best guest star we've seen in this series. It actually sort of reminded me of Tim Conway's episode in The New Scooby-Doo Movies in several ways, between it taking place at a high school, some of Hamill's jokes and mannerisms, and even down to them hiding in a recycle bin (well, okay, the original episode was in a trash can, but hey, you gotta upgrade for the 21st century, right? haha). Mark Hamill added a great presence to this episode, and I thought his acting was on-point. He genuinely seemed really passionate about the role, which I don't think we've necessarily seen from all the guest stars. I liked all the references to Star Wars, the joke about Shaggy having the $1,000,000 personal check from Hamill, and even down to his Joker laugh. The references to old episodes like the Wonder Woman one and the Batman one showed how much care was put into this episode, which was refreshing as we've gotten some subpar ones in this series. The nostalgia also felt much more genuine in this one, rather than forced like it has in many episodes. The villain was quite odd looking, but pretty creepy (I find bugged-out eyes to be particularly creepy!). He looked like something out of an anime! When it was first announced, I was thinking the fox monster was going to be the school mascot, but interestingly he wasn't. I felt the character interactions were pretty decent for the most part, besides the one sort of awkward bit where Velma loses her glasses. I loved the school in Japan as a location too! Just added to the creepy vibe. So this is gonna surprise y'all, but here's the updated scoreboard. We have a new top episode! Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. The Sword, The Fox and the Scooby-Doo! 2. Elementary, My Dear Shaggy! 3. When Urkel-Bots Go Bad! 4. What a Night, for a Dark Knight! 5. Attack of the Weird Al-osaurus! 6. The Cursed Cabinet of Professor Madds Markson! 7.
