For those who might be looking for some cool Scooby-Doo finds this Black Friday, you should definitely check out these new Scooby-Doo figurines, which are now available for pre-order. The first figurine is a hand-carved scene featuring the entire gang, a castle, and one of the green ghosts from "A Night of Fright is No Delight." It costs $110. The second figurine is the Mystery Machine with the entire gang in it, which is a little cheaper, $75. Both figurines are carved by Jim Shore, and will be available some time between December 2019 and March 2020. Thanks to Greybishop for sending me these links!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating tomorrow! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Platypus Duck, who appeared in "Scooby in Kwackyland" from The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, was originally created by Tom Ruegger in 1975 for his first animated film entitled "The Premiere of Platypus Duck." From my research, it appears the movie was never produced. Here's a link to a blog post where Tom Ruegger talks about Platypus Duck.
J-pop band Puffy Amiyumi's song "Urei" was the chase scene song in "Big Appetite in Little Tokyo" from What's New, Scooby-Doo?. In addition, they also performed the Teen Titans Go! theme song in the recent Scooby-Doo / Teen Titans Go! crossover "Cartoon Feud."
Amazon.com has announced another Daphne & Velma novelization, which is the second of the series. Entitled "The Dark Deception," and by Josephine Ruby, the 272-page novel will be released four months after the first one, on July 7, 2020.
Here's a description for the second book: Move over, Betty and Veronica ― this is Daphne and Velma like you've never seen before! This dark new series of YA novels is a horror-driven twist on the classic girl detectives from Scooby-Doo. Despite their differences, Daphne and Velma were able to solve the mystery of The Vanishing Girl. But there are a lot of secrets buried in the town of Crystal Cove. And the biggest case of all still remains unsolved... why did the town's original settlers all disappear? What happened to them? Velma is determined to find out... especially because her family's ancestors were among the disappeared. And now that she and Daphne have started to get a reputation for solving mysteries, everyone in town is looking to them for answers. But digging up the past can be dangerous... especially when some people in town have profited from the mystery for so long. Can these two intrepid teen detectives crack the case... and escape with their lives? Here are the comic solicitations of the Scooby-Doo comics being released in February 2020, courtesy of Newsarama.

Arts And if memories serves correct, The Grand Ole Opry House where the play is being performed on June 11, 2020 is where the gang was with Jerry Reed in "The Phantom of the Country Music Hall" from The New Scooby-Doo Movies! Are you buying tickets when they go live on Friday, November 15? Let me know in the comments! The trailer for SCOOB! is finally here, and I must say, I like all the voice actors! Will Forte sounds like Scott Menville with a hint of Scott Innes. It's an interesting mix, but I definitely like it and I'm sure it will grow on me even more. The trailer kinda gives me a 2000s Pixar movie vibe for whatever reason. Either way, I'm super excited now for the film and can't wait for it to come out 6 months from now!
Additionally, Simon Cowell announced on the X Factor this weekend that he was going to be in the new Scooby-Doo movie. While it's very likely to be this one he's referring to, it is also slightly possible that he could be in the King Arthur's Court DTV coming out next year. What are all your thoughts on the new trailer? Hi, this is Troy McClure! You may remember me from such shows like The Simpsons. But what you may not remember is that my voice actor, Phil Hartman (who also played Lionel Hutz on The Simpsons), voiced Igor and the Ghost of Dr. Van Helsing in "A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle" and the Vaccu-Spook 2000 salesman from "Reflections in a Ghoulish Eye."
(That was a Simpsons reference for those who have never seen it, which is why this fun fact was written so oddly haha) Thanks to Fandango, we finally have the design for Daphne and the Mystery Machine, as well as several new images of the upcoming film. In addition, a description for the film was also posted on Fandango: We'll see Scooby and Shaggy meet, join the intrepid young detectives Fred, Velma and Daphne in forming Mystery Inc. and close hundreds of cases, sharing previously-untold adventures along the way. Then, they must foil a diabolical plot revolving around a ghost dog known as Cerberus, discovering Scooby's secret legacy and their own epic destiny along the way. Another site, VitalThrills, has announced that the first trailer for the film will be coming this Monday, November 11. Here are some newly released stills from the film: UPDATE 11/8: Tony Cervone has posted on Instagram that the trailer will be premiering on Good Morning America at 8:30am-9:00am EST.
Today's fun fact brings you the best and funniest WB muck-ups in writing Scooby-Doo descriptions on the Boomerang streaming service. For this fun fact, I read every single Scooby-Doo description and title on Boomerang and documented all the glaring errors here. There's a surprising amount!
WHAT THE HEX GOING ON? When the gang visits the Weatherby estate, they must investigate a mysterious voice and a ghost who demands the family return its fortune to a neighboring clan. Where did they get "neighboring clan?" What year does WB think this show is taking place in? MAMBA WAMBA AND THE VOODOO HOOD "Hoodoo" is misspelled as "Hood" in the title. WATCH OUT! THE WILLIWAW! An Indian creates a legendary beast to scare people away from his smuggling operation. Wow, talk about spoilers? They literally ruined the whole mystery in this one sentence description! SCOOBY'S SWISS MISS A Swiss miss wishes to marry Scooby...but Scrappy has other ideas. Other ideas such as what? This description makes it sound like Scrappy wants to marry Scooby or something lol. DINOSAUR DECEPTION A clever archaeologist plans to steal the ancient silver treasure of Montezuma. Again, this episode's mystery is completely ruined in the description. SCOOBYGEIST Daphne proves that a creepy house isn't actually haunted. Umm...no she doesn't? The end of the episode in fact shows that the house is haunted! SCOOBY-DO AND CYCLOPS TOO "Scooby-Doo" is misspelled. NO THANKS MASKED MANX Shaggy solves the case of a high-society burglar. The description ruins the episode again. Also, just Shaggy? What about the rest of the gang? THE STONY GLARE The title is missing "Stare" as the last word. MISSION UN-DOO-ABLE Disguised as the Mastermind, an evil tour guide plans to overthrow the world. Once again, the episode's mystery is ruined by the description. SHOWBOAT SCOOBY They investigate a riverboat ghost. "They?" Who's they? Someone was a bit lazy here lol. THE GHOULIEST SHOW ON EARTH Upon Scooby's return to his home town, a demon circus comes to plague Doosberry. There is no such town as "Doosberry." The name of the town was Dooville. HORROR OF THE HAUNTED HAIRPIECE The Scooby-Doo Detectives jump into action when the monster, Big Wig, escapes from a new video game in Daphne's arcade. But the hairy horror turns out to be the baker next door. This is probably my favorite of the errors. The first sentence describes the episode perfectly, what was the point of adding in the second sentence which spoils everything for no reason? Lol. WRESTLE MANIACS (WNSD) When the Coolsville Wrestling Federation seems to be haunted, Carol Colossal calls on Shaggy and company for help. Scooby-Doo and his pals prove they're skills in a ghostly match. Besides "their" being misspelled, this is for the "What's New Scooby-Doo?" episode, yet the description describes the Pup Named Scooby-Doo episode. THE MENACE OF MANTICORE Another typo in the title. "The" is put in the wrong place. The correct title is "Menace of the Manticore." WHERE STALKS THE SCAREBEAR I believe the title of the episode is "Scarebear," not "Where Stalks the Scarebear." THEATER OF DOOM Life imitates art in Crystal Cove's annual Haunted Historical Pageant. Uhh...what happened here? It sounds like someone didn't know anything about the episode other than the Historical Pageant was in it. WB Exec 1: "What happened at the Historical pageant?" WB Exec 2: "Umm...life...imitates...art?" DANCE OF THE UNDEAD When Crystal Cove's favorite southern celebrity chef has a cooking accident, strange incidents ensue. THE DEVOURING A famous band, whose members died 30 years ago in a plane crash in Crystal Cove, comes back to haunt the town on the 30th anniversary of their death. Both of these episode descriptions are switched around. The description for "The Devouring" summarizes "Dance of the Undead," and vice versa. COME UNDONE It's the end of the world! And our heroes must work together to ultimately realize their love for each other is the true Heart of the Jaguar. The description partially ruins the end of the episode once again. SCOOBY-DOO GHASTLY GOALS The Mystery Inc. gang may be made up of champions when it comes to solving mysteries, but how do they fare in sports when the competition is ghoulish and their opponents are monsters literally? What are they talking about? It sounds like someone just made up a random description that knew nothing about the movie. Nothing about this summary is accurate and just sounds like generic guessing. SCOOBY-DOO! MUSIC OF THE VAMPIRE Daphne stars in a vampire movie. But when a real vampire shows up, the Scooby gang must investigate. This one is actually also on the iTunes and Amazon description, throwback to Fun Fact of the Week #2 from 2014, and this still hasn't been fixed! What movie were they watching? It clearly wasn't this one, since this summary is completely incorrect and the film has nothing to do with Daphne as a vampire film star. Additionally, though these are not linguistic typos, it's worth noting that three of the thumbnails for episodes ("Vampire Bats and Scaredy Cats," "The Bee Team," and "House of the Nightmare Witch") show the culprit being unmasked, thus ruining the episode. That about wraps up all of Boomerang's typos, and I hope at least some of them amused you! |
