A few months ago, I wrote an editorial article about another 90s show, Gravedale High, and its similarities to the 1988 film Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School, arguing that the show was basically like Ghoul School would be like if it was spun off into a TV show. While I usually don't ever plug my own work, I thought it might be worth mentioning that for those interested, I decided to challenge myself and do just what I was arguing in that article: I just published a fanfiction story that crosses over Gravedale High and Ghoul School, set in the future when the Grimwood girls are trying to decide their post-graduation plans by attending a college fair. I know fanfiction has a reputation for being "totally out-of-character" and not at all true to the source material, but I attempted to keep everything as close to the source material as I could for both franchises to create a more authentic story. Note that though this is a part of my typical Fangs for the Memories fanfic that I publish weekly, this crossover is intended as stand-alone and you do not need to read any of the previous chapters of my fanfic to understand it. Here is a link to the story for those interested in checking it out!
Anyway, I'm sure most people aren't interested in this, but I thought I'd just mention it here in case anyone was!

Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? is the first series to not technically feature any relatives of the gang. It's explained in "What a Night, for a Dark Knight!" that Alfred Pennyworth was actually Daphne's family's butler that they affectionately referred to as an uncle, but he is not actually a member of their family.
Thanks to my friend Deandre (aka Scoobyfan4ever) for coming up with this week's fun fact! I know the What's New, Scooby-Doo? songs aren't really as popular by name as the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? ones, so I listed the title of the episode after each song title. For those curious, I'm not planning to do a poll for any of the Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! or A Pup Named Scooby-Doo chase songs, as not many of those (just a few of the Be Cool ones) have credited names, so either the poll options would just be me guessing the titles, or I could list each of the episode titles and people would have to try to remember which song came from which episode. I don't feel like that would really make for a very fun poll.
Here are the results from last week. There seems to be a very clear consensus this week! Which of Velma's relatives is your favorite? Madelyn - 45 Marcie - 12 Uncle John - 6 Angie Dinkley - 6 Dale Dinkley - 4 Uncle Cosmo - 4 Dave Walton - 2 Mrs. Dinkley (from Pup) - 2 Baron Von Dinkenstein - 2 Uncle Evan - 1 Aunt Meg - 0 Uncle Elmo - 0 Mr. Dinkley (from Pup) - 0 So I know this news is a few days old, but I always try to wait for official confirmation before making posts about things, and thus I wasn't sure if I should mention it. A few days ago, a viral tweet of a person's private messages with Jerry Beck, an animation historian, blew up all over the Internet. The tweet claimed that WB had no plans to release any physical media after this year and they would be focusing more on adding content to streaming services like HBO Max, leading fans of numerous WB franchises including, Scooby-Doo, to believe that Warner Brothers would be completely discontinuing any physical releases after this year. However, Jerry Beck has responded to these claims in a public Facebook post, saying that his words were taken a bit out of context by all the different Internet rumors that stemmed from this tweet. So thankfully, Scooby-Doo fans (and fans of any other Warner Brothers shows and films, for that matter) can rest assured that Scooby-Doo DVDs will continue to be produced, and Scooby-Doo and some other Warner Brothers cartoons will begin to be remastered for HBO Max in the coming years.

The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #4 story by: Ivan Cohen art and cover by: Dario Brizuela ON SALE 7/13/21 $2.99 US | 32 PAGES | FC | DC 4 of 12 One or two monster masks might just mean there’s a smuggler or crooked real estate developer in town. But when Gotham City is terrorized by an army of thugs in monster masks, it can only mean one thing: a citywide crime spree by Black Mask and his gang, the False Face Society! With Batman mysteriously missing, and Nightwing and Batgirl up against a horde of crooked creatures, it’s lucky that the heroes have help from Scooby and the gang. After all, who has more experience in pulling the masks off bad guys? From "Vampire Bats and Scaredy Cats" to "Scooby's Chinese Fortune Kooky Caper," all of the title cards for The Scooby-Doo Show featured the gang running across the background to the Mystery Machine. Beginning with "A Menace in Venice," for four episodes, a still shot of the Mystery Machine appears. Starting in The Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show through the first season of The Richie Rich / Scooby-Doo Show, Scooby, Shaggy and Scrappy are added to the title card, and the music played while the title card is shown was changed. The rest of the title card remained this same image through The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, with a few subtle changes including the name of the episode's writer being added to each title card beginning with season 2 of The Richie Rich / Scooby-Doo Show. New music was utilized to introduce the title card beginning with The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries.
Here are the results from last week's poll:
Which of Fred's relatives is your favorite? Professor Huh? - 25 Mayor Jones - 13 Skip Jones - 13 Bobby Flay - 10 Uncle Eddie - 6 Peggy Jones - 3 Uncle Karl - 3 Brad Chiles - 3 Judy Reeves - 2 Edward DuFlay - 2 Scotty McDoon - 0 "A Haunt of a Thousand Voices!" aired in Turkey today. It looks like a great episode and I hope it airs as the series finale in the US! There seems to be lots of references to classic Scooby tropes and gags. Here are some screenshots. "The Movieland Monsters!" is the episode that aired today! I think Tracy's post last night with the title card reading "The TV and Movieland Monsters!" was an old version of the title card that was changed last-minute during production. That would explain why the TV Guide sites were sent the wrong title. The ghost looks so cool in this episode! The name, however...let's just say I take back everything I said about the "Green Man Monster" being the dumbest villain name ever. This episode, the gang faces up against the "Ghost Monster" lol. The films in this episode will be The Searchers, Casablanca, A Night at the Opera, and The Wizard of Oz. Tracy Mark Lee just posted the title card for the Carol Burnett episode and confirmed that it is called "The TV and Movieland Monsters!" Here are some images from today's episode "Scooby-Doo, Dog Wonder!" I'm loving the character designs for Blue Falcon and Dynomutt! For those that were fans of the original Dynomutt, Dog Wonder series, this episode seems like it stays very true to the original show. We even get to see Radley Crown, Blue Falcon's true identity! Here are some "Falling Star Man!" images from the Turkish airing today! The alien looks a lot more weird than we saw in the previous trailer. Here's the image that corresponds with the infamous storyboard the Tracy Mark Lee teased last October with the "football" episode. To conclude, there's also this very cringey part in the episode. I love that they didn't even bother to translate that part into Turkish despite this airing in Turkey haha. Guess Who's "The Legend of the Gold Microphone!" featuring Reverend Run aired in Turkey today! Given this, we now know the names of the villains for this episode are the ghost of Tabb Tatters and the skeleton of Bones McCann. This episode looks like it's going to be super dark! Here's an image of the two villains from this episode.
New episodes will continue to air every weekday in Turkey this week, so stay tuned for some more potential images! An episode of iCarly "iBelieve in Bigfoot" parodies the structure of a Scooby episode. When Bigfoot appears at the characters' school, Carly, Sam and Freddy realize that Bigfoot is not real, but rather, someone was dressing up as the creature. Several Scooby-Doo tropes are referenced throughout the episode.
Thank you so much to Bigscoobydoofan for coming up with this fun fact idea! Here are the results from last week:
