Fun Fact of the Week #344

Picture
From "Vampire Bats and Scaredy Cats" to "Scooby's Chinese Fortune Kooky Caper," all of the title cards for The Scooby-Doo Show featured the gang running across the background to the Mystery Machine. Beginning with "A Menace in Venice," for four episodes, a still shot of the Mystery Machine appears. Starting in The Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show through the first season of The Richie Rich / Scooby-Doo Show, Scooby, Shaggy and Scrappy are added to the title card, and the music played while the title card is shown was changed. The rest of the title card remained this same image through The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, with a few subtle changes including the name of the episode's writer being added to each title card beginning with season 2 of The Richie Rich / Scooby-Doo Show. New music was utilized to introduce the title card beginning with The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries.

Aren't the gang running from The Mystery Machine in the title cards?

Some season two and three episodes showed the gang running. I always thought is was weird that Season 1 of The Scooby Doo Show had no title cards.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty weird too!

In a few episodes they're not. That's the point of the post in general

Hey guys I just saw on Scoobypedia that Falling Star Man will air on Teletoon in Canada on May 9.

It looks like will be getting these episodes sooner than we thought. The other episodes will probably be aired in mid or late May.

Yep. My TV Guide says so for Teletoon. Also, I have another fun fact:

In the upcoming Dynomutt epiosde for GW, Blue Falcon is seen having gloves in the title card but he doesn’t have gloves. Tracy mentioned it on her Instagram.

Thanks for the confirmation and the fun fact! :) I'll add it to the list of ones that people have already suggested and post it soon!

Actually, I'm just looking at it again, and the Turkey title card that aired does not have Blue Falcon with gloves. Maybe it was removed from the episode? Regardless, that still makes for a good new fun fact - that the title card was redesigned slightly to remove Blue Falcon's gloves in the final version. Thanks!

warner bros. is stopping physical media and direct-to-video movies will be moved to streaming. I don't know if this starts with Scooby-Doo and Courage The Cowardly Dog, but it will probably be put on dvd still but the next movie will most likely be streaming exclusive

Someone else shared that with me on Twitter! I probably won't make a post on it, unless people really want me to, given it's just someone claiming to have a connection to WB from what I've seen and not anything officially confirmed. The idea of this is so bizarre to me. I could understand if they decided to lessen the amount of physical content they produced, but to completely stop it and move everything to streaming seems very extreme to me.

I didn't see the bit about them only releasing TV series on DVD...I wonder if that means we could still get some Scooby season set DVDs (i.e. Guess Who season 2)?

i got the news from the vulcan reporter

I think that claim should be taken with a grain of salt. I higly doubt that WB is moving all of it's content to streaming. I do know for a fact that things are still a getting dvd/blu-ray release in the future from them just look at these planned releases for yourself here.

https://baseorg.uk/future-releases/

For example Batman: The Long Halloween Part One is getting a Dvd/Bluray release from WB on 21/06/2021 which is comfimed on that page.

Yeah I agree plus their is no indication that the dvds are selling poorly and why can't they just release them on hbo max and on dvd because I heard that warner bros are planning to release movies on hbomax and theaters at the same time I don't get it but if this is true THEY BETTER RELEASE HBOMAX WORLDWIDE I DON'T SEE THE POINT IN DOING THIS IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO RELEASE HBOMAX WORLDWIDE!!!

@Wildwind, on the Be Cool episode ranking, Grand Scam is listed twice, thus another episode is missing from there.

Oops...the lower "Grand Scam" at #43 was supposed to be "Be Quiet, Scooby-Doo!" Thanks!

the cop with all due respect, I REALLY don't think anything you should trust anything the vulcan reporter says. according to this comment on which reddit says.

"Apparently a young adult runs the site, and movie director James Gunn has called him out multiple times, so not reliable"

https://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/izm2mh/how_reliable_is_the_vulcan_reporter/

in addition to this they one spread a false rumor that Tom Hardy was cast as bond

I know that we don't know if it's true but even if they stop making dvds why are they releasing them exclusively on hbomax why not release them video on demand in general SCOOB did pretty well video on demand without it being exclusive to hbomax and if they do this without any plans of releasing hbomax worldwide then they just going to anger alot of people so again I don't get it.

They ARE planning and working on making HBO Max worldwide. And also, until then, HBO Go basically acts as Max for the countries that don't have yet.

Well obviously, the point of a streaming service isn't to be relegated to one continent. They've said themselves they're working on it, and until it happens you've got HBO Go as basically Max right now, considering they're bringing Zack Snyder's Justice League, Godzilla vs Kong, Wonder Woman 1984, Mortal Kombat etc to countries without Max.

Glad to hear they're making HBO Max worldwide!
