According to an interview on A Podcast Named Scooby-Doo, Grey Griffin (Daphne's voice actress) sounds very similar to Daphne in real-life.

A few weeks ago, it was announced that the cast of the untitled theatrical film would consist of all celebrities, including Will Forte as Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez as Velma, and Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman. Today, the remainder of the cast has been released thanks to ComicBook.com. Amanda Seyfried will voice Daphne, and Disney's High School Musical star Zac Efron will voice Fred.
The film is oddly titled S.C.O.O.B. once again according to this article, even though that title seemed to have been discarded based on some other news we received. I'm not sure if this is official yet, or if whoever wrote the article just didn't get the news of a title change. Stay tuned for more updates! Hi everyone!
With all the discussion lately following Curse of the 13th Ghost about what's canon and what's not, SDF and I have been working on a project about what could be considered canon. In our definition, canon means that there are no continuity errors with other things in the Scooby-Doo franchise that would prevent it from being in the main continuity. Anything that is not canon would be discontinuous with another incarnation, or it somehow contradicts another Scooby-Doo episode, special, or film. The following is the canon we came up with. Some non-canon movies fit together nicely with others, such as the LEGO or live action films, and have been placed in a canon together. All incarnations under the "separate canons" category are all in their own, individual canons and do not fit together with anything else in the franchise. Some notes are provided where our placement might be a bit confusing. However, if there's anything you feel should be placed elsewhere, please let us know in the comments and we'll be happy to explain our reasoning as to why we chose to place it there. My good friend Mike Jozic over at A Podcast Named Scooby-Doo recently did an interview with Tim Sheridan (the writer who wrote both 13th Ghost and Gourmet Ghost), which has shed some interesting light on aspects of why Curse of the 13th Ghost was written the way it was. He also revealed some implied details about the upcoming Zombie Island sequel, supposedly set for release later this year. A lot of fans were frustrated by the film's lack of Scrappy. Sheridan reveals in the podcast that WB directly told him that he could not include Scrappy or Flim Flam in the film at all. "When we went into this, there were voices that said, you'll deem the parameters, but no Flim Flam, and no Scrappy." Sheridan tells us. However, being a fan of the original series, Sheridan chose to override WB's initial warnings of including such a controversial character. While he attempted to include both Scrappy and Flim Flam, he found that during the writing process, only Flim Flam could be worked in within the strict parameters that WB gave him. "I could not make Scrappy work with the story that I was telling. I felt strongly that I could do something to redeem Flim Flam and make him a little more of a compelling character. I would have loved to have make that work with Scrappy, but I'm not the guy to do it. Hopefully, you'll get that in another movie." Additionally, Sheridan tackles another one of the biggest criticisms of the film in this podcast. Many fans were upset with this film not providing a clear ending to the original series. "There have been a couple times where the ghosts were real. Traditionally in Scooby-Doo, the ghosts have not been real. That sort of overall question mark is what led us into this in the first place." Sheridan reveals. In this interview, he clarifies that the ending was not intended to be a cop-out which was untrue to the original series. In fact, the ending was an attempt to satisfy both sides of the spectrum. "If you are a person who believes ghosts are real in their universe, there's an argument to be made that things are real and it really happened. And if you're a skeptic, there are reasons included in this story that it could have all been a complete scam. I don't feel like that was a cop-out. We wanted to make sure everyone got a sequel to the series that they wanted." You all are probably aware by now that a sequel to Zombie Island will be released for the 50th anniversary sometime this year. Many fans have expressed worries that the sequel might not stay true to the original, citing Curse of the 13th Ghost as failing to do this. Though Sheridan didn't necessarily reassure fans about this, or even confirm the existence of the movie, he did strongly hint at it and gave us the lens WB will be most likely writing Return to Zombie Island from. "Thematically, let's look at this like it's a sequel story to Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" Sheridan hypothesizes. "We also included Zombie Island in that sort of pass...we needed to do that for other reasons." So, this likely means that Return to Zombie Island will be written in this same style as Curse of the 13th Ghost was, as an extended Where Are You adventure. I'm presuming the focus on the original series here is because of the 50th anniversary. Though I was initially frustrated with the way the movie ended, I'm quite a bit happier now with Tim Sheridan's explanation here. It sounds like there was a genuine effort made to make it close to the original as possible. I like that they chose to try to make both groups of fans happy by leaving the ending up for interpretation! It was a clever way to look at the film, and I'm glad to hear it wasn't just a "we can't think of an ending, let's make the ghost fake" type thing. I'm a bit nervous for Return to Zombie Island, however, as that series was far more mature than Where Are You, and that's one of the things that makes the film so popular. I guess we'll have to wait and see. You can listen to Mike's full interview with Tim Sheridan, and also his interview with Grey Griffin, on A Podcast Named Scooby-Doo here. Zomba, one of the 13 ghosts from the demon chest in "That's Monstertainment" (The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo) was the only female character in the show not to be voiced by a female. She was voiced by Les Tremayne, who was most famous for being part of the main cast of the Shazam live-action series in 1974-1977. A picture of him is below (thought it would be interesting to include it, as quite honestly he does not look like he's the voice of that character!)
In 1998, Cartoon Network released the Scooby-Doo! Ghoul Gallery coloring book, which includes an absurd zombified redesigning of a random side-character, C.L. Magnus's butler, from "Go Away Ghost Ship" (Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?).
Photo credit: ScoobyAddict Though unfortunately the Scooby-Doo: Downhill Dash 2 game has been permanently removed from the Scooby-Doo Boomerang UK website, five brand new Scooby-Doo internet games have been released.
Firstly, two new Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! games are now on the Boomerang UK website. The first, Mystery Chase, involves running away from 9 different Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! monsters in the prison, museum, and caves, while playing as any member of the gang! The nine monsters included are The Ghost of Elias Kingston, the Spirit of the Zatari Warrior, the sea monster, Sobek, the Crystal Crawler, the Yeti, a white version of the wraith, The Ghost of Stealin' Stan, and the Mummy (from "Mysteries on the Disorient Express"). The second BCSD game is another version of Monster Sandwich titled Sandwich Stack, a game which has been on the WB and Boomerang UK website for years. To win, you have to stack all the food up on a piece of bread to make a gigantic submarine sandwich. Two of the games, on the WB website, are also part of the Doo Good environmental initiative. Food Frenzy has you lead Scooby through the mazes to help him collect all the food, so it doesn't go to waste. The game includes classic villains such as the scarecrow, Miner 49er and a phantom. The other game, Ruff Rescue involves helping Scooby rescue the puppies from the Miner 49er by safely leading him through the obstacles in the haunted mines. In the final game on the WB site, Trick or Treat, you have to help Scooby collect all the candy while also avoiding the baddies. It's great that they're continuing to release Scooby-Doo internet games. I was a bit worried after so many were removed from the Cartoon Network website during a recent redesign, but it appears they're still actively releasing new games on a regular basis! The horror musical comedy film Hillbillys in a Haunted House bears some striking similarities to Scooby-Doo, and more specifically, Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers. The concept of "splitting up" is present, one character is named "Jeepers," Jeepers jumps into another character, Woody's arms whenever he is scared, and the general tone and plot of the movie is very similar to that of a Scooby-Doo episode.
There are also significant similarities to Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers in this film. This film features an old Civil War plantation as its setting, features multiple ghosts running around the house, three of which are an ape, a skeleton, and a Civil War general's ghost. The Civil War general ghost is implied to be a real ghost at the end of the film. Even more eerily, the name of the mansion is quite literally the Beauregard Mansion! This film came out in 1967, before Boo Brothers or the Scooby-Doo franchise, so it is possible that some minor elements of this film may have inspired certain ideas for Boo Brothers or the Scooby-Doo franchise. Thanks to ComicBook.com, several voice actors for the currently untitled 2020 theatrical film have been announced! It appears WB has taken the "celebrity voice" route for this film, casting Will Forte as Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez as Velma, and Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman. Scooby-Doo will still be voiced by Frank Welker, though Fred and Daphne's voice actors have still not been announced at this time. ComicBook.com has also provided a plot summary, which appears to be very close to the same one we were given several years ago. The animated reboot sees the Mystery Inc. gang join forces with other Hanna-Barbera characters to save the world from the scheming Dick Dastardly, the always-losing menace of Wacky Races who was accompanied by sidekick Muttley. This negates the theory which some of us had of them pushing back the movie from its original 2018 release date to revamp the plot. Additionally, Matthew Lillard and Grey DeLisle-Griffin, the typical voice actors for Shaggy and Daphne, have spoken out on Twitter, revealing that they were never told that they wouldn't be voicing their normal characters in the film, and in fact found out at the same time the general public did. Here's their comments on the matter: Mindy Cohn, who was the previous voice of Velma before WB replaced her (without her consent in the matter) in Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!, also replied to Matthew Lillard's tweet.
