 You might be asking "how did we get back to #4 when we were at #148 last week?" Recently, someone pointed in the comments that a few of the very first polls on the site didn't get very much engagement (likely just because this was back during the 50th anniversary when I was doing this as an experiment, rather than a regular component of the blog). While we aren't going to redo all of them, I glanced through the first batch of polls, and picked out four that seemed like not very many people voted for them. I thought it could be interesting to redo a couple polls from a long time ago (or, at least, before the pandemic feels like a long time ago haha) to see if the results are any different now that so many more people are voting than they did back then. Here's a link to the original poll, as well as the results. You may notice the poll is slightly amended. I don't remember why I included the Shadow Demon and not Asmodeus in the original poll, but you might say I was giving off some real exclusionary Sassy Fred vibes there haha.

Interesting, I had always spelled it the other way. I wish the HB era did credits for each episode so we could see the spelling, rather than one credit sequence for every episode of the series. I changed it. Thanks!

13. Rankor - I love his design, but the fact that he's randomly taking orders from some recreational monsters society, and WILLINGLY goes in the Demon Chest makes him bottom of the barrel for me.

It says NOT from the chest of demons, why I wondered why Bogel and Weird weren't there. The only villains I were discounting were the generic spirits from the chest.

Lol I'm dumb. I was originally going to ask what people's favorite ghost not from the Demon Chest was, but I figured no option would really have a strong lead since most of those are either forgettable (Monster Trees, Morbidia's Monsters, Zomba's Demon Camerapeople, etc.) or annoying (Brewski Sisters). I decided to re-ask what people's favorite 13th ghost was instead, but apparently I forgot to remove the "not" from the question haha. Either that or I did change it and it didn't save, which in my defense, is a glitch that occasionally happens. It's especially annoying the few times the glitch has happened I've typed up some of the polls with 20+ options haha. Anyway, I fixed it. Sorry about that!

I looove Maldor, so he’s my top choice. That being said, I really love the variety of ghosts/demons that they selected for this series. Asmodeus is a really cool design and has a great backstory, but the movie really… well, without spoilers I don’t think that it gives Asmodeus the chance to shine in a proper way and then after that it adds on something at the end that really ruins the character. It’s a story revelation that isn’t built up to or earned and so it feels like a last minute retcon. But those two would honestly probably be my favorite! 10/2/2022 06:46:59 pm
I really like your point about Asmodeus! I completely agree with you that Asmodeus doesn't really get the chance to shine like the other ghosts did. It definitely feels like a bad retcon, which brought him down for me a lot. It's a shame though because I think he could have been one of the coolest of the ghosts!
