Back on January 1, it was announced that a talking Velma bust would be released, alongside a book titled Velma's Mini-Guide to Life. There's been radio silence on this since then, but today, the design of the bust was finally revealed on Barnes & Noble's website. The bust can be seen above. In addition, the previous release date of August 6 has been scrapped, and it has been moved two weeks later to August 20. It's also notable that the bust seems to use the font of the Velma series logo, despite that this doesn't seem to have any connection to that show.

Last Autumn, I completed rewatching, rating, and ranking every Scooby movie ever, and now today I can proudly say that after 5 years I have completely watched every Scooby-Doo show ever! I am very excited to share my ranking list if you are interested, because it’s been in the works for a long while! I have gone through and rated every episode from each show, weighed season/series averages as well as personal opinion, and came up with my personal definitive ranking! And feel free to ask anything about my thoughts or whatever on any show haha, my brain now has all this information and little to do with it! I always go worst to best cause I feel like that’s the better way to present a ranking and also I want to clarify that the only series here that I would say that I dislike is Velma.

This is a great ranking, thanks so much for sharing it! My series rankings would be pretty similar, in terms of the shows being in generally the same areas. It surprised me to see The New Scooby-Doo Movies so low, and Laff-a-Lympics above the 1983-1984 series, so I'd be interested to hear more of your thoughts on why you placed those shows there!

Whenever I rewatched all of The New Scooby-Doo Movies, I had a fun time! But unlike WNSD or SDWAY, it was really hard to want to watch more than one episode in a sitting. They have approximately the same budget as a half-hour episode, but stretched to an hour-long. Season 2 of The New Scooby-Doo Movies I would argue has the worst animation of any other season of Scooby. And the stories varied too drastically from very interesting (my favorite episode being the Jonathan Winters episode) to much too stretched thin (the first episode with the Three Stooges being my least favorite). And to me, these changes happened from episode to episode and it didn’t provide a consistent experience, despite my enjoyment of the show as a whole! 7/7/2024 10:28:53 am
That's fair on The New Scooby-Doo Movies! I completely agree with you about season 2's animation being far worse than season 1. I know I'm definitely one of the outliers when it comes to the show being one of my favorites, but it was one of the first full series I watched as a kid, so I still have a ton of nostalgia over it despite its flaws.

I’m still sad that they couldn’t (or maybe even didn’t try?) to get Dick Van Dyke back for Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? because if he had been in the series finale I think it could have been a cool way to bring the series full circle! 7/7/2024 10:51:22 pm
It would have been awesome if they got Dick Van Dyke back for the Guess Who finale! I liked the Carol Burnett episode as the finale, but having Dick Van Dyke back would have made it feel even more special. I'm also really curious if they asked him or not! Leave a Reply. |
