Velma Talking Bust and Illustrated Book Released in August

A brand new type of official merch that we've never had before is coming out this summer! On August 6, 2024, an official talking bust of Velma will be released, along with an illustrated companion book by Shaenon Garrity, according to Barnes & Noble. Here's the description they list:

I found that really funny too lol. "I can't see without my glasses" would have been a much more logical choice, considering I don't think she's ever said "I got a hot idea!" Considering there's 10 catchphrases, I'll be very curious to hear the others they came up with haha.

It's funny because the second I read that hot idea quote, I knew exactly what it was referring to. In Scooby's Night with a Frozen Fright, Velna says that line and then her, Shaggy, and Scooby head back to shore on a block of ice.

Oh, I'd forgotten about that line! Still an odd one to spotlight considering I don't think she said it in any other episode, but I'm glad I misremembered and that they didn't just make up a catchphrase.

I think "OH GOD WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO ME" should be one as a homage to Velma last year.

I have it. It’s basically a collection of history of Harley from her first appearance in Joker’s Favor. Some mention of personality. Lots of words for a small book. Then talks about major storylines for her. Mad Love. About her transition to the big screen in Suicide Squad. About where she is now. And what we can expect from the character in the future.

Velma will probably be the same. But I don’t know what major storyline can fit it. There’s nothing really “oh yeah major part of Velma’s character” about her.

And Harley isn’t voiced by any of the voice actresses in the bust. So I don’t expect Velma to be voiced by Kate.
