Grey DeLisle-Griffin Officially Announces New Scooby-Doo Series

A few months back in August 2017, you may remember that a script for a new series was announced, tentatively titled "Scooby-Doo! Guess Who?". However, the tweet which pictured the script was deleted, calling into question whether the next series would be titled "Scooby-Doo! Guess Who?" However, Grey DeLisle-Griffin (the voice actress for Daphne) has just confirmed a brand new series on the Speech Bubble with Butch Hartman podcast. Around the 0:30 mark in the video, Griffin mentions that the new series is indeed called "Guess Who, Scooby-Doo?" (notice the slight title rearrangement).

It also appears that my prediction in this February 2018 post was correct. Though DeLisle-Griffin didn't officially call the series a reboot of The New Scooby-Doo Movies, she mentioned that the series will feature celebrity guest stars appearing in every episode to help the gang solve the mystery.

That's all that has been released on the series so far, but I'm sure more info and an official announcement will probably be coming soon, given that DeLisle-Griffin was allowed to reveal it on the podcast. I'm really looking forward to the series, and it will be interesting to see which celebrities end up guest starring on the show!

This is awesome! So excited for this series, especially because The New Scooby Doo Movies was one of my favorite series in the franchise. Also, I've been visiting your site for ages but never actually commented on anything until now. Great job on the site and please keep up the good work! I check it daily!

I had seen this too! Guessing it means that Batman will be one of the guest stars (as Kevin Conroy is most famous for his role as Batman).

Man, I was just over at the ScoobyAddicts forum, checking for new posts without logging in as usual, and I saw you suggesting some singers for guest stars in the new series and you mentioned Halsey, MAN, I love you!! Halsey is one of my absolutely favorite artists!! (I may or may not have a little crush on her XP) Dunno if an episode with Scooby and Halsey would work, but I'd be more than thrilled to watch it!!! She's truly a very inspiring individual - also bisexual, but I doubt they'd even touch the subject on a Scooby cartoon.

Haha thanks! I'd love to see Halsey in an episode of Scooby. I agree she's a super inspiring person, and would be a great person to guest star in Scooby. I doubt they'd talk about her bisexuality either, as it wouldn't really be relevant in the context of Scooby. Not sure if you've heard what happened last night with her and her boyfriend, but hopefully that controversy/issue wouldn't affect her being able to guest star in the show.

And no offense, but that's actually kind of cute you have a little crush on Halsey! :)

G-Eazy is one of my favorite rappers, him and Halsey are adorable together, but yeah, I heard about the incident. That's what comes with fame though... Sad but true.

Heh heh, none taken! Halsey is precious! :3

Not a huge fan of G-Eazy or his music I guess, but I do love Halsey haha! Yeah, I suppose. I'll be honest, I don't know much other than what initially happened during the incident, but regardless I hope he's able to get whatever help he needs.

And aww! <3

A lot of G's songs, kinda like Eminem's, deal with serious issues, such as his bipolarity disorder, his drinking problems etc. There are, of course, a few songs of his that are just like any rapper's nowadays, talking about fame and drugs and women and so on, but most of the times, there's a deep meaning in his lyrics. I haven't kept up with all his work, but his latest album, "The Beautiful & Damned" (including his duet with Halsey <3), is amazing.

I've heard a few of G-Eazy's songs and they're just kinda "meh" to me. I definitely respect that he speaks about serious issues and not just doing drugs and taking advantage of women like some other rappers, though the few songs of his I've heard are just not my style, I guess. I've heard the Halsey duet and I think "Me, Myself & I" but that's it. Didn't know he was bipolar though, but I think Halsey has said she is too, right?

I do like a few of Eminem's songs though, his most recent one "River" with Ed Sheeran was great!

Well everyone has their taste. :)

Yeah, Halsey is bipolar too. Sometimes it's frightening what celebrities have gone through... I was watching an interview of hers in a health talk show this morning and she talked about endometriosis... It was just... heartbreaking...

Dude, I swear, you and I need to find time to chat about music... "River" is a modern masterpiece!! You should also check "Need Me" with Pink, also from Eminem's "Revival" album. ;)

Aww that's so sad to hear! I've heard that she has it, but haven't taken the time to look into her talking about it beyond a few articles.

I'm happy to keep chatting about it on here, if you like! This has actually been a really interesting conversation! :) Or I'm happy to do wherever if you prefer somewhere different.

So what other artists and/or songs are you into right now?

One thing you should know about me is, I tend to be really chatty when I talk about music (just like when I talk about Scooby :P). I would suggest chatting over Twitter messages so our conversation can be more direct - and so that this post doesn't fill up with hundreds of comments! XP But these conversations take time, so maybe we could have it during summer when both our schedules will hopefully be lighter. :)

As I had mentioned, I'm going through a tough phase, not only with the stress of the exams, but also with other personal issues. As a result, I tend to listen to more meaningful songs that can vary, from G-Eazy and Eminem rap to pop songs from the likes of Charlie Puth or Little Mix. Basically I listen to almost every new song that comes out and if I like the artist, I check their next song and so it goes. I also listen to Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran, J Balvin and Imagine Dragons among many others.
I do listen to the occasional Ty Dolla $ign, Migos or Wiz Khalifa. These guys mostly (if not exclusively) sing about money and drugs and objectify women but don't get me wrong, I'm not at all fond of their lifestyle. I don't pay much attention to the lyrics, only the beat. Such cases also include Post Malone and Jason Derulo, though the latter has done a few brilliant songs, like "If I'm Lucky" which is a personal favorite, but there's also the dirty songs like "Swalla" or "Tip Toe". Catchy beats, but zero meaning in the lyrics.

How about you? :)

No problem, I get a bit chatty as well with music (and of course Scooby!) so that's fine. I can try to come on Twitter one of these days, though the issue for that with me is 1) I never really have time since I have to maintain this site and ScoobyAddicts (ScoobyAddict is going through some personal issues right now, and isn't able to come on as much anymore, so thus it's a bit more work fo me and SpiderScooby - not that either of us mind helping out though) and 2) whenever I go on Twitter, I generally have like 5 messages from different people to reply to and end up turning what I meant to be like a 10-15 minute quick check into super long conversations with multiple people haha

But honestly, whatever is fine. I can come on Twitter sometime soon if that's what you prefer, or I'm happy to just slowly reply on here too. I don't mind the tons of messages, makes the site look super popular after all xD

I wish my schedule got lighter in the summer! I'm in my mid-20's, so my days of having school summers off with school are sadly over. :(

I'm sure this isn't the response you wanted, but that's a bit cute that you're listening to tough music to make it through your tough phase lol :) But yeah I totally get it, I'd have phases throughout my teens/early 20s where I'd be really stressed out and go through the whole "I'm too tough to care" thing. Not necessarily with tough/rap music, just tried to be a bit more noticably moody and edgy at times.

One thing I should probably say if we're having this conversation is that I tend to be a bit odd with music taste, like I'll love one or two songs from an artist and then hate the next one.

Charlie Puth is pretty good, he has a very nice voice! "How Long" is probably my favorite of his. Don't know much J Balvin, "Mi Gente" is good but I don't understand the lyrics lol. Ed Sheeran is hit-or-miss for me, I like some of his music but others I dislike or get bored of quickly. I love Imagine Dragons! Such a great band that goes back to the 90's/2000's rock vibe. Fave of theirs is probably "On Top of the World" then "Believer" or "Radioactive" next.

Ty Dolla $ign is possibly the most amusing name for a rapper ever. Just because it's so consistent of the "fame/money" stereotype. Not really fond of any of the people you listed, a bit too full of themselves and the objectifying women/drugs is not something that I enjoy listening to. Post is the only one of those that I moderately like songs from, but he's pretty hit or miss. The background music of "Rockstar" is super cool and almost a bit creepy, which honestly is the only reason I like the song (Post's voice is kind of cool as well), but the lyrics are so horrible because...well, you know if you've heard the song.

My younger cousin (she's a teenager about your age) perfectly summed up "Swalla" by saying "How does this sh*t even get on the air?" haha. Mainly because she was listening to it on the radio where they actually had to censor out the title lyric because...umm...yeah. Though she tends to listen to more alternative/punky stuff like Hey Violet and Panic! At The Disco (the latter is a great band, btw) so she despises most rap songs.

Katy Perry is pretty hit-or-miss for me, Taylor is awesome! Love that she doesn't go with the mainstream stuff and just does her own thing (I hate that people say she only sings about breakups, because most of her later stuff actually doesn't).

I love all of those! Michael Jackson, KISS, Queen, Scorpions, AC/DC and Kansas are all great artists!

Newer stuff I like (as I said, my music tastes are a bit odd in some cases): "I Like Me Better" - Lauv, "The Middle" - Zedd / Maren Morris, "Sit Next To Me" - Foster The People, "New Rules" - Dua Lipa, "No Tears Left To Cry" - Ariana Grande (great message in this one), "Sober Up" - Ajr / Rivers Cuomo, "Two High" - Moon Taxi, "Live In The Moment" - Portugal. The Man, "Friends" - Marshmello / Anne-Marie and "On The Loose" - Niall Horan

Other favorite artists for me are Imagine Dragons (as I mentioned), X Ambassadors, The Script, Panic! At The Disco, Lorde, Why Don't We (sort of a newer one I'm getting into a bit), Magic! ("Let Your Hair Down" is amazing - great message about being yourself too! :) ), Borns, Quietdrive, KISS...okay I'll stop now before I go on forever haha

I forgot to mention Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, amazing artists.
Plus the fact that I listen to some classics, like Michael Jackson (I found out about him after his death unfortunately), KISS, Queen and the Scorpions. "Supernatural" has also introduced me to other classic rock legends, such as AC/DC and Kansas.

Sorry I went back to such an old post but WE HAVE CONFIRMED GUEST STARS AND YES WE'RE SEEING HALSEY!!!!!!

“Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?”: In the series from Warner Bros. Animation, the Mystery Inc. gang faces some of their toughest mysteries yet. To crack the cases, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo will join forces with some of the biggest names in celebrity and pop culture — including NBA star Chris Paul; recording artists Halsey and Sia; Ricky Gervais, Kenan Thompson, Bill Nye, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Mark Hamill, and Steve Urkel (voiced by Jaleel White, reprising his iconic role), as well as characters like Wonder Woman, Batman, Sherlock Holmes, and The Flash. Chris Bailey (“Kim Possible”) serves as producer with Sam Register (“Teen Titans Go!”) as executive producer.

Lol, imagine Fred flirting with her and at the end of the episodes she says "you're a sweet guy, but I'm more into Daphne". XD XD XD
Ok, obviously they wouldn't address the fact that she's bisexual, and hopefully they'll steer clear of relationships and jealousy subplots. I would hope for a G-Eazy appearance too, but Halsey alone is more than enough.
I also found an interview from this weekend's Billboard awards where she mentions Scooby:

Omg, this needs to happen!!! lol No, they wouldn't address her bisexuality because it would be too controversial. Eh, I doubt they'd have G-Eazy, just because of the content of some of his music and I imagine some parents would feel uncomfortable.

"but Halsey 'alone' is more than enough" - very nice unintentional pun there - get it? xD

Thanks for that article! I'll make a post about that and the new series later today. Now to go search for some cute Halsey pics. lol

Aww <3 There were a lot of cute pics of her, though I wanted to do one that was actually in the interview video. It was very tough to get one though, she was playing with her hair almost constantly! I haven't really watched many interview videos, but does she always do that so excessively? lol Fun little fact, the pic of her in the other post actually had to be cropped at her hairline so her hand wouldn't be in it lol.
