Whirlen Merlin's School of Magic

I'm really excited to announce that I have released another fanfic. Titled Whirlen Merlin's School of Magic (fun fact: this was the original title Abracadabra Doo was going to be released under), the story follows Velma being asked to teach a magical literature course at her sister Madelyn's school. However, Velma has to put her mystery-solving skills to the test when the ghost of Whirlen's ancestor, the original Merlin, begins haunting the school. I like to think of this fanfic as a crossover between Abracadabra Doo and Harry Potter. In fact, a recurring joke throughout the fic is that it's a bit of shameless parody of Harry Potter (since they have very similar premises), to the point of having two characters named Bumbledore (a parody of Dumbledore) and Doris Rumbridge (a parody of Dolores Umbridge). I'm sure that sounds quite silly lol, but honestly this whole fanfic is very tongue-in-cheek and ridiculous in a fun way.

For those that have checked out my other fanfics, the story takes place within the universe of Coast to Coast with Daphne Blake. In fact, there is an entire chapter that crosses over with Coast to Coast, involving Daphne inadvertently going to film an episode of her television show at the school.

I'm super proud of this fanfic and had a lot of fun writing it these past few months. Unlike my other fanfics, all fifteen of the chapters and the epilogue have already been completely written. I wanted to try a different strategy, since all of my fanfics (particularly Coast to Coast) often had months-long hiatuses between chapters due to me getting busy with life and not finding the time to write. I will be publishing one chapter per week every Friday, beginning today through December 16. Unlike my previous fanfics which I've rated T for creative freedom purposes, this fanfic is rated K (for all audiences).

A couple other miscellaneous things I wanted to share: Daphne, Fred, Shaggy and Scooby all make occasional cameos (although they are not a large part of the fanfic). Whirlen, Madelyn and Marlin are regular characters in this fanfic. I did change Whirlen's personality a bit, in the sense that he is now kind of a deadpan character who has very literal interpretations of humor, but I don't think I changed him to the point of being unrecognizable or cringey like fanfiction is often criticized for doing. Those who have read previous fanfiction I've written know that I like to incorporate humor in my stories, and this one is no different haha. The humor style in the story in general is very in-your-face corny and random (think a combination of the puns of Ghoul School and Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!) The fanfic even turns into a bit of a workplace comedy for a few chapters when, without ruining anything, Merlin captures some people and makes them work. It's a very experimental fanfic that's a bit different from what I've published before, but I hope you all still enjoy it regardless.
