Thank you to Matt for guest contributing this week's poll idea! Although characters that are just in one scene don't typically qualify for the poll, his head (Jack) did appear in multiple scenes, so ultimately I included it since it was kind of an iffy case.
Also, I mentioned in the comments for last week's fun fact post that I had a big announcement today. In celebration of the 500th week of the fun fact posts, I'm excited to share that tomorrow's fun fact will be written by a very special guest who will be sharing some special behind-the-scenes tidbits from their work on the Scooby franchise! As to who that is, you'll just have to wait and see tomorrow, but you definitely won't want to miss tomorrow's fun fact! Here are the final results from last week's poll: What is your favorite episode taking place on a farm? Jeepers, It's the Creeper - 15 A Scooby-Doo Halloween - 11 Farmed and Dangerous - 11 The Frickert Fracas - 10 Eating Crow - 5 The Ghost of the Red Baron - 4 The Bee Team - 3 The Horrible Herd - 2 Falling Star Man! - 2 Curse of the Collar - 1

9. Haunted Hollywood - much better than Blowout Beach Bash, but still not all that memorable compared to a lot of the classics here.

There's not one bad choice here besides Haunted Hollywood, which is just meh. Headless monsters are really well done in Scooby-Doo, and personally some of my favorite types of villains. Even despite how little he appears in Boo Brothers and Goblin King, his scene is still really memorable and brilliant. However, the top 2 is still quite clear: Haunted House Hang-Up and The Headless Horseman of Halloween. I chose the latter, but it's almost a toss-up, they're both incredible.

Yeah, I agree they're some of the best done villains in the franchise, as shown by this set. I'd honestly be happy even if something like Boo Brothers won, as the design there was really cool even if it was a brief couple of appearances.

Yeah, the Goblin King one was also amazingly done for a minor villain. The Lego one is definitely the weakest, simply because, well, it's Lego lol.

No problem. Glad to assist with the poll topic, especially one that has a really solid set of options here

6) I'd actually probably take this one over the other 2 holiday episodes, but that's a very tight fight for me. All 3 of them are in my top 10 WNSD eps.

6. I have Valentines either number 3 or 4 on the series and Halloween in the 6-8 range. Christmas is probably somewhere between 25 and 30 for me, which means I still think it is a good episode because most episodes are good in What’s New, but yeah, it isn’t close to the other 2 for me 4/14/2024 10:15:16 am
6. Out of curiosity, what do you like about it less than the other two holiday specials?

I think I'd go Christmas > Valentine > Halloween for the WNSD holiday eps, but again, the gap is quite minuscule.

Well, the easy answer is that I think the other two are just better episodes overall, but I think both Valentine and Halloween embrace a level of ridiculousness while still taking themselves seriously enough to just be really unique. Valentine especially feels like it could almost be a parody, but it embraces those elements and puts them together into not only a great Scooby Doo episode to be taken seriously enough, but an excellent one. A Scooby Doo Christmas plays it much more straight as a Christmas special, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but the end result doesn’t stand out to me as much. It is a good solid episode and I like the town setting a lot, but Valentine and Halloween both feel so fresh that I think they are easily among the best episodes of the series, while Christmas blends into the pack a bit more 4/14/2024 02:45:25 pm
6. That makes sense. vibe of "A Scooby-Doo Valentine" stands out to me too and I agree with you that it feels like a parody. "A Scooby-Doo Halloween" is definitely more quirky than "A Scooby-Doo Christmas," but I don't agree that it's better for that reason. Totally see why you would feel that way though. 4/14/2024 09:50:34 am
6. I'd say it's my second favorite of the specials. I like Valentine just a little bit better (which is my #5 for the series), and I love Halloween as well, but it just misses my top 10 at #11. I'd rank this one #7, but it is a very close race here as I love all three of them.

5. As I said to Becker, Velma does not count for me lmao. I just disregard it in general

Great ratings, I'd personally put Haunted Hollywood as good but otherwise I completely agree with all your ratings.

Here is an idea for a future Scooby Doo episode that I've just come with that also features a headless villain and it is based on a true story..

That’s sounds like a really cool idea for an episode of Scooby Doo.
