A lot of underwhelming options here. I narrowed it down to Hound of the Scoobyvilles and Howl of the Fright Hound. I was originally thinking of going with the former, but the more I thought about it the more I appreciate Howl of the Fright Hound, so I went with the latter.

Yeah, I'll change my vote to A Scooby-Doo Valentine now lol. None of the others are standouts of their shows. This one is, even though it doesn't come to mind for the theme.

"A Scooby-Doo Valentine" would have for sure been in my top 3 if I was ranking based on quality of the episode rather than theme; definitely agreed that it's a standout of the series.

Were-Doo of Doo Manor, I’ve loved loved Nasty Doo as a villain.

I also voted for this one, Nasty-Doo is easily one of the best villains of the series imo.

Haven't seen Zoinks the Wonder Dog so I'll go with the other 15 here. Not the strongest set but there is some quality to be found here nonetheless and there isn't a lot of absolutely terrible imo like last week (which actually made for a really interesting comment section set of discussions last week, loved it)

15. Scooby's Swiss Miss- Pretty easy last place. I wouldn't put this bottom 10 of all time like Wildwind, but I definitely get why it would be

14. Picnic Poopers- Hooray for Guys!

13. Muscle Trouble- Pales in comparison to a certain other Scrappy short with a bulldog villain

12. Homeward Hound- Has hell frozen over? I can't believe I have a What's New episode this low (and below a Scrappy short), but if there was going to be an episode of this show to place this poorly, this would be one of a few that just is not very good

11. Mecha Mutt Menace- Almost feels a bit overhated imo. I think this is fine compared to the next special trainwreck that was Ghastly Goals, but not a favorite either

10. Strongman Scooby- Definitely falls into "So bad it's good" territory for me. Cheers to the passage to the ocean in the swimming pool

9. Howl of the Fright Hound- This isn't a SDMI episode I return to as much, but I wouldn't call it a least favorite, it still works for me

8. The Warlock of Wimbledon- This is especially a "So bad it's good" episode, but in particular "The first half is actually good, the second half is a complete farce but this episode is still absolutely nuts enough for me to like it" lol

7. A Scary Duel With a Cartoon Ghoul- Fun enough, but not a favorite

6. Worst in Show- I admit, this one could probably stand to be re-watched by me. I kinda forgot some stuff about this one, but I think I remember enjoying it enough to be here. Could go up or down on re-watch

5. Robopup- This is a really fun A Pup Named Scooby Doo episode, probably one of the only ones of the series that really tried to throw you off the trail of who was behind it all

4. Hound of the Scoobyvilles- My entire top four were under consideration for number one at some point, but they fell out like this. This is a favorite of mine from its series. The atmosphere is incredible, even if I kinda wish there was more time from this episode to expand on the mystery more, but still really good

3. Mask of the Blue Falcon- I struggled with this one as I view this as one of the better movies, but I ultimately decided to put the original Dynomutt episode above this

2. Everybody Hyde- Absolutely a standout, and arguably the best Dynomutt episode, out of the ones I have seen at least). A really awesome crossover

1. Were-Doo of Doo Manor- If we are talking about the best A Pup Named Scooby Doo episodes, this is certainly up there. Has a really nice atmosphere and some top tier Pup humor, and I feel it deserves my vote here

16. Scooby's Swiss Miss - one of the absolute worst of the Scrappy shorts.

15. Picnic Poopers - Hooray for Guys!

14. Muscle Trouble - https://giphy.com/gifs/season-9-the-simpsons-9x10-3orifdeCZXMHgUlZyU

13. Strongman Scooby - unlike the previous three, I also find it so bad it's funny, especially with the swimming pool leading to the ocean bit, but it's still not a favorite and I'd rather watch any of these other 12.

12. Mecha Mutt Menace - a pretty decent special. Not one I return to a lot, but I enjoy this a good amount.

11. A Scary Duel with a Cartoon Ghoul - I rewatched this one yesterday for the poll, and I thought it was pretty good. Not super memorable though.

10. Homeward Hound - my least favorite WNSD episode, but it's still somewhat good.

9. Howl of the Fright Hound - a decent episode with a cool villain, but as I mentioned in the comment thread for last week's poll, it's not one I return to a ton and I'd say it's pretty mid for this series.

8. The Warlock of Wimbledon - Definitely falls into the "so bad it's good," the drop in quality in the second half is very entertaining lol.

7. Zoinks the Wonder Dog - I really enjoy this one! The plot of Shaggy's old dog and Scooby's old owner returning was super fun. One of my faves of the series.

6. Worst in Show - Really fun Be Cool episode with a cool villain.

5. Hound of the Scoobyvilles - I rewatched this one as well, and I love the atmosphere of the castle here. Love the villain too. The "down with the hound!" chant was also kinda catchier than it had any right to be lol. #DownWithTheHound

4. Mask of the Blue Falcon - this is such a fun film, and I like how they reimagined the Mr. Hyde mystery here.

3. Everybody Hyde - My favorite Dynomutt episode. As someone who has seen all 20 episodes of the series, this is one is definitely a standout. I would say other standouts were "The Awful Ordeal with a Head of Steel" and some of the season 2 episodes, which also experimented with a darker tone similarly to The Scooby-Doo Show.

2. Robopup - Really solid Pup episode with a great mystery, and two really good villains. This one has only grown on me more over the years.

1. Were-Doo of Doo Manor - an easy choice here for #1, especially considering it comes to mind right away with this theme.

I also rewatched Hound of the Scoobyvilles to make sure what episode I vote for, and after watching it I came to the realization that the biggest issue with the 1983 show is the framing of the shots. They're often too zoomed in or too zoomed out or showing too little of the bottom or the top. I couldn't help but get distracted a bit every time, poor job from the editor quite frankly.

I would add "A Scooby-Doo Valentine" at #8, between "The Warlock of Wimbledon" and "Zoinks the Wonder Dog." Quality-wise I'd put it higher but it doesn't really come to mind for the theme.

@Becker Yeah, I've noticed that too. It's never bothered me too much, but I agree that the framing of the shots wasn't the strongest in that series.

3. I really need to watch the entire Dynomutt series sometime. Especially season 2 from what it sounds like

@Becker: When I went back and re-watched, I noticed it as well after you said it but it doesn’t bother me all too much personally

3. It's a really solid series, I'd definitely recommend watching it. Season 2 is fun because the tone of the episodes is a bit darker in the same vein as The Scooby-Doo Show season 2, especially "The Glob" and "Shadowman." It's a short season though, only four episodes. They're also pretty hard to find as they aren't released on DVD or on streaming.

I will have to move everything down and insert A Scooby Doo Valentine as number one here. Absolutely a top 3 or 4 What’s New episode for me, and it definitely counts as a dog villain episode

I also rewatched Hound of the Scoobyvilles and I think I will move it up a spot ahead of Mask of the Blue Falcon and Everybody Hyde. Really good episode and definitely comes to mind way more with the dog villain specifically

Here are my Rankings. I haven't seen Zoinks the Wonderdog or Worst in Show.
14) Howl of the Fright Hound - it is a Mystery Incorporated episode.
13) Mask of the Blue Falcon - it exists.
12) Scarey Duel with a cartoon duel-underwhelming
11) Robopup - The dog is a robot.
10) Homeward Bound - I could see someone really liking this.
9) Were Doo of Doo Manor - OK
8) Everybody Hyde - it's pretty good.
7) Warlock of Wimbledon - My main gripe is that the writer has no idea how eyeglasses work. I wear them myself and those scenes made zero sense. That said, the episode is so stupid that it is worthwhile.
6) Hound of the Scoobyvilles - Scrappy is scared. When it's your family, it's personal.
5) Picnic Poopers - An adventure awaits!
4) Muscle Trouble - Similarly themed mayhem.
3) Mecha Mutt Madness - it was surprising to me how good this was.
2) Scooby's Swiss Miss - Emotions flare concerning a romantic rivalry. Marriage is on the horizon. Will Scooby or the rival suitor don the tux? Will there be marital bliss or was it all the consequence of petty jealousy?
1) Strongman Scooby - Some hate to go to the gym. Scooby's reluctance may be warranted. A bull dog enters the waters to discover they may be deeper than they appear. A secret lies below. A flesh eating monster. Will the bull dog survive and learn a little something along the way? In the fine Scooby Doo tradition, Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy are here to put the work in workout. Scrappy doesn't have to worry about potentially falling out of a vehicle this time! Sit back and immerse yourself in a world of imagination, where anything is possible!

12. I agree about "A Scary Duel with a Cartoon Ghoul" being a bit underwhelming. It's one of my least faves of The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries personally.

7. You mean your glasses don't make you suddenly see warlocks everywhere? I better get mine checked lol.

Howl of the Frighthound, truly terrifying. Probably go Hound of the Scoobyvilles second and were doo third.

Think you missed What the Hex is Going on? and A Scooby Doo Valentines.

You're right about "A Scooby-Doo Valentine." "What the Hex Going On?" wouldn't qualify since he only appears in one brief scene.

Hound of the Scoobyvilles:
I enjoyed this episode. The setting of the castle and graveyard was good. I liked the Hound of the Scoobyvilles as a villain. His howling sound was creepy. The ring hypnotizing Scooby was interesting.

Lord Barkerville correcting Scooby when he said Fiendish Hound is a recurring gag from APNSD where a character corrects Scooby when he said something in correctly.

This was a good episode! I really liked the settings and atmosphere of this episode as well. Yeah, the hound was a great villain, and I also thought the guy's hand with the ring was creepy.

Zoinks The Wonder Dog:
I really enjoyed this episode. We discover that Shaggy had another dog named Zoinks before he had Scooby and Scooby had previous owner named Groovy Dawn before Shaggy adopted him. I liked that Dr. Phibes made robot versions of them to put a riff between Shaggy and Scooby. They managed to come together and defeat the robots. In the end they took pictures together and said that they will always be by each other’s side. That was sweet.

This was a really fun episode and a highlight of season 2 imo. I still remember watching this one when it first aired. It was neat to learn Shaggy and Scooby's backstory here, and the plot of Shaggy's old dog and Scooby's old owner coming back and tearing them apart was very unique.
