Wouldn’t Don’t Fool With a Phantom count? I’m also going to rank Monster of Mexico, because while the museum wasn’t the main setting, it does kinda come to mind for me as a museum setting in the franchise. It may not need to actually be included as a choice if it isn’t deemed to be a museum movie beyond me, but I’ll personally include it

You're right, I don't know why I forgot about "Don't Fool with a Phantom." I edited the poll and added that and Monster of Mexico as options, so you can vote for it now.

Well I don't personally own an episode that takes place in a museum as your question implies but I'd have to go for DFWAP lol

I cannot imagine the price to buy the rights to Sweet Dreams Scooby from Warner Bros would be too outrageously expensive lol 7/16/2023 01:09:02 pm
Perhaps if they can't weather the financial crisis they're in right now, they could sell it off for a few hundred dollars haha.

I would totally pay that much to own a Scooby Doo episode, even if it is a weird little Scrappy short LOL 7/17/2023 12:47:08 pm
I would too haha. It'd be so cool to own a Scooby episode!

Great to see the love for "Don't Fool with a Phantom" and Trading Chases"! I was a little surprised that "What a Night for a Knight" is one of your least favorite episodes of Where Are You, but overall it was really interesting to read your opinions on these episodes!

So I’ll be picking my answer based on how much museum is in it/how good the museum is.

The underground part of "The Spirits of '76" were my least favorite as well, although I still enjoyed them. The museum scenes were much more atmospheric though.

This was an amazing episode and my favorite of the ones here. I like that this episode had such a dark atmosphere, and the villains were all really creepy. I also expected it to be Grumper and didn't think Mr. Clive or Willit were involved.

This was a good episode! I really liked the villain. I was also not surprised it was Mr. Dayton. The plot of Shaggy and Scooby being framed was really interesting! Red getting chased by the woman was funny. I also thought the scene at the end with Scooby getting a bone was cute.

I really liked this episode! The villain was really good and one of my faves of the series. Buddy was a fun character and I agree he felt like a part of the gang. I was not surprised by the culprit either, but I was shocked that the old man was Pervis. Yeah, the ending was really cute!

This was a great episode and I enjoyed the villain as well. Yeah, Melbourne definitely felt like a part of the gang. The reveal at the end was really cool and unique, and I liked that the gang rolled the various clips on the movie screen as they explained the culprit and motive.

Thank you for doing all of that research! I was original approaching this poll from the standpoint of only including episodes/films where a museum was the main setting, which isn't the case for a lot of these (although there were a couple like "To Switch a Witch" that I missed, that was my bad). That said, I added all these options in, other than Shaggy's Showdown and Courage, which I felt was a bit of a stretch since they only appear for a very short period of time and were not really important to the overall plot (same with the Spook Museum episodes of SDMI). I included Mummy Too off of the recommendation of Shadowscooby, as even though it's not a museum, it does have a museum-like wing where the mummy was stored, so I included it.

No problems. Yeah, it is a difficult one when an episode/movie has multiple settings, the problem is whether we look at the time spent in that scene, what you were initially going for, or it's importance to the plot, what I went for. Anyway, glad to help out.

I liked this film better than the first one as well! The plot of the museum with all their past villains, and Shaggy and Scooby trying to find their place in the gang was interesting. It's kind of interesting how they returned to the plot of Shaggy and Scooby feeling like they don't fit in with the gang in SCOOB!. I enjoyed all of the villains, although I would say my favorite of them is the Pterodactyl Ghost. It was interesting to see the past culprits at the Faux Ghost, particularly Aggie Wilkins as that was a very obscure choice of culprit that arguably isn't among the gang's most well-known culprits that they've unmasked. Velma telling Shaggy and Scooby she wished she was more like them was really sweet. It was sweet to see Scooby become a hero in the end.

This was a good movie but it is my least favorite of the 2000s DTVs. I thought the Black Samurai and his ghost ninjas were excellent villains! The catchphrase thing was funny, since they hadn't established "hold the phone" as his catchphrase yet. The twist at the end with Miss Mirimoto and Sojo was quite surprising. I liked Shaggy and Scooby's little quest, even though I wish that Fred, Daphne and Velma would have gotten more screen time. The ending was quite sweet. Yeah, I also thought it was a great message at the end, and sweet that she sided with the gang in the end.

This was a very unique episode, but I really liked it! I was also glad they didn't do another mummy, I feel like that would have felt generic. Sobek was a really good choice of villain. It was funny how Daphne became interested in falconry, and I liked Dwayne. I liked how Fred gave the one girl that pigeon, haha. The twist at the end with Jeff was definitely not something I expected lol.

This is a fun episode! I also liked the Mystery Machine as the villain, and thought the Daphneism was funny. I was surprised about Fred driving off the cliff, and liked the really cute moment it led to where the gang all gives him a hug because they were worried about him. The auto-correct thing was funny. Lol I also found it pretty obvious it was Dr. Blum, but didn't expect Torri to be involved.

Yeah, it's a difficult topic this one. There are a lot of episodes with vital moments in museums but they don't feature heavily, in this case Shaggy and Scooby being shoved down a hill in a rickety old car!

I wonder if they got inspiration of the Spook Museum that appeared in som episodes of Mystery Incorporated from Monster Unleashed. Like how the Spook Museum shows costume displays of monster costumes the gang have unmasked just like in the Coolsville Criminology Museum.

As for your 16, yeah it's a difficult one but Alcatraz is technically classed as a museum, so I guess it counts, 17 meanwhile has the wrestling exhibit scene. Anyway here's mine:

@Mr Neither Do you remember if they specifically say it's a museum in the episode? I remember them getting a tour, but I can't remember if they say it's been changed into a museum or if it's just a tourist attraction.
Matt
7/19/2023 12:37:53 pm
I’d say that in real life, Alcatraz is considered a museum, but I wouldn’t really say it is presented as a museum in any of the episodes, more as a tourist attraction

I did think there were other episodes Alcatraz was featured in. Personally it's what I found out in real life, not the actual episode. 7/20/2023 03:23:17 pm
I'd say it's a bit of a stretch, since like Matt said it's not really presented as a museum in the episode, but I'll go ahead and add those other two. Thanks! 7/19/2023 08:15:22 am
As far as I am aware, there wasn't a museum in "Pompeii and Circumstance." The gang visited the Colosseum, but I don't think it was ever referred to as a museum in the episode.

Or perhaps they meant A Menace in Venice where they were at the academy of art or whatever and it seemed kinda museum-like 7/19/2023 11:27:19 am
Could be, yeah. I guess I wouldn't really classify either of those as museums, though.

Rewatched the episode cause I was almost 100% sure they did call Pompeii a museum. They didn’t but in my defense they have tour guides and night Garuda so it definitely feels more of a museum than some other episodes listed Leave a Reply. |
