This is kind of a more difficult series to rank settings. Part of the fun of ranking the settings is evaluating how good of an atmosphere a setting created for the mystery. Given there were no mysteries in this series, it's a bit more challenging to rank these, especially given some of the settings were just Shaggy and Scooby's house or Phibes's lair.

Here's Mine for setting. I haven't seen Zoinksman or Zoinks the Wonder Dog.

We have pretty similar rankings! "Super Scary Movie Night" and "Chefs of Steel" being bad or horrendous was the biggest surprise of your rankings for me; I thought both of those were decent, especially "Super Scary Movie Night." It's admittedly been a while since I've seen "Chefs of Steel." I quite like all of the ones you listed as disliking.

My choice for Best use of setting is High Society Scooby but my favorite episode is Lightning Strikes Twice.

I thought "High Society Scooby" used the country club setting really well! I like "Lightning Strikes Twice" as an episode but I thought the ship could have been better as a setting.

As I said last week, I can’t rank the settings this week, but I am glad to see the comment section favorite last week High Tech House of Horrors at least tie for number one, and while it wasn’t one of the next few for me, A Scooby Doo Halloween’s setting was really solid too

I'm really happy to see that "High Tech House of Horrors" won too! I admittedly wasn't expecting "A Scooby-Doo Halloween" to tie it, but I really like the setting of that one as well. One of the best of the series IMO.

Okay, even if I don't like the episode the house episode deserves to be there but Halloween is just garbage and lame. That is a total shock. And how has invisible madman got only one vote, this one has flabbergasted me but anyway moving, Super Scary Movie Night. A dark creepy house full of monsters, what more do you want? It's a really good episode of Scooby in general.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten that you didn't like "A Scooby-Doo Halloween." I'm also really surprised "Simple Plan and the Invisible Madman" only got a single vote. I would have expected it to be one of the top options.

The setting for Halloween is just stereotypical, nothing special. An American small town decorated for Halloween, which focuses on a corn field and a dance hall. You compare this to Invisible Madman and Super Scary Movie Night and the huge difference is the suspense factor. That's what makes a good Scooby setting, fearing that at any moment a monster is going to jump out at you from the shadows, something that Halloween seriously lacks. 5/8/2023 10:05:48 am
It is definitely stereotypical but I personally don't mind it and find it to be kind of a charming setting. The cornfield was a pretty suspenseful setting IMO during the part with the scarecrows coming at the gang in the cornfield. Both of those episodes have a different kind of fear factor than "A Scooby-Doo Halloween" so I get your point.

I personally really like the setting to A Scooby Doo Halloween. I felt they did the small midwestern town setting really, really well. They even included Kiss which oddly enough contributes to the setting as Kiss were known back in the day to go to those midwestern towns that no other bands toured in and they have a really big fanbase in those towns because of it, so it really feels like they did some homework. It just feels like a particularly special and real display of that type of setting. Absolutely love it 5/8/2023 03:42:24 pm
@Matt "A Scooby-Doo Halloween" is also one of my favorite settings of the show. Something about the quaint small town is very charming and realistic, which I like. I would say "Simple Plan and the Invisible Madman" slightly edges out "A Scooby-Doo Halloween" for me, but both are excellent. I was also shocked "Farmed and Dangerous" didn't get any votes. It's one of my favorites of the series, so it shocks me that nobody voted it for when there were votes for other not so good settings, like "Homeward Hound."

This one is an easy one Mystery of The Missing Mystery Solvers. The setting of this episode was done perfectly with the haunted mansion and the monsters feeling like the older episodes.

Completely agreed and that is my vote as well. They did a really good job making the episode fit within the traditional Scooby-Doo formula, which is why it's also my favorite episode of the series in general.

I have absolutely no idea what to pick here, so I'll just go with Chefs of Steel for the hell of it lol.

I don't feel that episode was particularly memorable (all I remember about it is an evil chef), but it'll be interesting to see if that episode gets other votes besides yours haha.

I don't think I ever watched Get A Clue when I was a kid. so I wouldn't know which episode setting in this show was the best or the worst.

Fair enough, I have seen the whole series but it's very different from the traditional Scooby-Doo formula, so I can see why somebody wouldn't have an interest in checking it out.

I haven't seen all of S1, so can't comment as well as I'd like. I was just glad S2 was aired by my cable provider a few years back, so can recall them.

"Cruisin' from a Bruisin'" is one of my favorite episodes as well. It was a fun novelty episode, and it was fun to see them do something different.
