I thought it might be fun to do a completely different type of poll this week. Despite that you think it would be talked about a lot, I've only had this conversation a handful of times with people in the fandom, so I thought it would be fun (and maybe even facilitate some interesting conversations) to see how often people on this blog watch Scooby!

Here are the results from our Valentine's Day poll on romantic pairings last week! Thank goodness the options that nobody should have voted for got 0 votes haha.

Amber/Scooby and Crystal/Shaggy - 33
Fred and Daphne - 29
Velma and Marcie - 11
Fred and Daphne (SDMI) - 10
Shaggy and Googie - 8
Shaggy and Daphne - 8
Shaggy and Velma (SDMI) - 3
Velma and Coco Diablo - 2
Shaggy and Gigi (Velma) - 2
Daphne and Velma (Velma) - 1
Fred and Daphne (Velma) - 1
Fred and Velma (Velma) - 0
Shaggy and Velma (Velma) - 0

This is a really interesting poll haha!

It's made me realise that I only really watch Scooby once a month at this point...

I guess I'm such a scooby geek at this point that I obsess over the history, trivia and collecting more than actually watching full episodes haha. As I think I told you before, I collect pieces of production art used in the show (cels, backgrounds, scripts, designs etc), so I guess to me that's taken the place of watching the show regularly. I watch bits here and there though to track down where specific bits of art were used.

Most recently I watched 'A Night of Fright Is No Delight' again, because I have my eye on an original painted background from that episode lol.

Infact, that's a good question to anyone else in the comments.
What was the last episode/movie you watched?

I watch it once weekly, but I feel the same way as you that I'm more focused on the history/trivia/current news than I am with watching episodes everyday haha.

Congrats on getting a new production cel!

I love the idea of sharing the last episode you watched in the comments! The last episode I watched was "A Scooby-Doo Valentine" on Tuesday for Valentine's Day.

Since I've been reviewing every episode and movie for my YouTube channel GEEK FREAK I usually watch multiple episodes a week but I've been pretty busy lately so I haven't seen one in a couple weeks but I'm in the middle of mystery Incorporated right now and the last episode I watched was "the grasp of the gnome"

I think it really depends. I don’t have a schedule for Scooby-Doo of course. Apart from projects I work on there’s a few Scooby here and there but only in clips. Sometimes go probably a month or two at most without watching Scooby fully. Then there’s times where I watch 15 episodes in variety (which is my preferred way of watching, a compilation of different series to keep it fresh in one sitting) in a day. but if I were to average it out maybe once a week.

I've noticed I tend to watch Scooby more around holidays, like I typically do a "one episode per day" marathon around Scooby's anniversary, Halloween, and winter/holiday episodes around Christmas.

Depends, but I'll say weekly.

The results make it look like Amber and Crystal are the couple lmao.

Oops lol. I just edited the post and corrected that.

It depends for me. There are stretches where I turn on old classics as background noise every day, but I’ll say several times a week because it’s not always everyday. It is one of those things where I enjoy the show enough to have it on, but am very much familiar with it enough to where I don’t have to pay full attention most of the time. Though this is not my only way of watching Scooby Doo, it just is the most common when I am busy

Yeah, I am the same way in the sense that sometimes I'll just put on a Scooby-Doo episode as background, but I won't devote my full attention to it.

I'd say once a month but I love everything Scooby and will often be tempted by Scooby merch. I managed to get Betrayal at Mystery Mansion yesterday for a good deal yesterday. What we do need though is another console game, Haven't had a true one since Spooky Swamp!

Agreed that it is overdue for another console game. It's hard to believe it has been 13 years since the last one! That's awesome you got the Mystery Mansion game!

Yeah, I've been intrigued by it for a while but shipping from US is a nightmare and can't find it anywhere in UK. Still, even with UK shipping and no customs fees, thankfully, I probably paid the same or even less than full price. It's only about $18 on Amazon.com.

Wow, that's a great price! I haven't gotten it yet, not sure if I will but I may look into purchasing it.

It depends really because I focus on what is the next scooby doo show or movie to come out rather than rewatching the older stuff I have already seen.

It depends. It varies but I usually watch Scooby Doo two days a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. The last episode I watched was a Night of Fright is No Delight on , I believe, Thursday.

Every few months, though I'm hardly consistent about it. Used to be daily when I worked from home, then weekly until I ditched HBO Max after the merger. Now I have to put in a DVD, and I'm too lazy to do that anymore lol

I see some folks sharing how they watch, so I'll share mine too. (1) background noise, usually Where Are You and New Movies since I know them all by heart and can "see" what's going on just by listening. A few others have mentioned they do this as well, and I imagine it's fairly common. (2) Active viewing, when I really focus on something for a particular reason and appreciate all the quirks. One of the things I love doing is watching a few episodes from one of the classic series in sequence and trying to spot the different styles of the different artists. (3) First time viewing, when I'm paying attention but not scrutinizing things.

Yeah, I got HBO Max just for the month that Velma came out and I cancelled my subscription on the day the last two episodes aired. I watch Scooby in all three of those ways, although I don’t have a specific series I watch as background, and don’t tend to watch episodes just to determine the artist.

Yeah those are two of my background noise series as well. Also The Scooby Doo Show, but every once in a while I dip into other series than those 3

I meant to respond to that part in my previous reply, but I don't really tend to stick to any particular series for background. There are definitely some I watch less like the Scrappy shorts and Guess Who, but I rewatch a pretty broad range of stuff for background noise stuff. It just tends to be whatever I happen to be in the mood for.

I usually watch Scooby Doo whenever I can. They show some Scooby Doo series on Boomerang from time to time. Like the ones that are on now are Scooby Doo Where Are You and Scooby Doo and Guess Who. They also show some Scooby Doo movies as well. So I watch whenever I can.

I am the same way in the sense I don’t have a set schedule for watching Scooby-Doo; I just watch whenever I have the time (which is typically at least once a week).

honestly, i don’t know how often i watch scooby doo. i feel like it always changes. but i did rewatch the sword and the scoob twice this week (once a couple days ago, and once yesterday) and i loved it! i didn’t really like it when it first came out, but it really grew on me. and i did watch some older episodes and movies this month: A Night Of Fright Is No Delight, Ghosts Of The Ancient Astronauts, Scooby The Barbarian/No Sharking Zone, Scooby Goes Hollywood, Alien Invaders, and Cyber Chase.

Yeah, it depends based on how busy I am too. Tbh I haven’t rewatched The Sword and the Scoob since it came out! The last Scooby episode I watched was “A Scooby-Doo Valentine” last week.
