Thank you to Shadowscooby for coming up with this week's poll question!

I expected Zombie Island to blow everything else out of the water, and I was correct haha. I'm a little surprised about Monsters Unleashed making it nearly as high as "Which Which is Which?" and "The No-Faced Zombie Chase Case." Here are the final results:

What is your favorite Scooby-Doo episode featuring a zombie?
Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island - 44
Which Witch is Which? - 7
The No-Faced Zombie Chase Case - 6
Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed - 4
Dance of the Undead - 3
The 7th Inning Scare! - 3
Mystery Mask Mix-Up - 2
Night of the Living Doo - 2
Mamba Wamba and the Voodoo Hoodoo - 1
The Ozark Witch Switch - 1
The Babysitter from Beyond - 1
Pompeii and Circumstance - 1
The Song of Mystery - 1
0 votes: Scooby-Doo and a Cyclops, Too!, Ghosts of the Ancient Astronauts, Horror Scope Scoob, Mummy Scares Best, Scooby-Doo! Return to Zombie Island

Although it's not my favorite here, I agree with you it was a good movie. It was neat how they incorporated all of the past villains into the mystery.

Galloping Ghosts is my choice, a classic

I ended up choosing that one as well, despite that three of my favorite pieces of Scooby-Doo media of all time are there ("Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle," Ghoul School, and Reluctant Werewolf). All of those episodes kind of side-lined Frankenstein's monster and didn't really give him much focus. In every case, Dracula felt the most prominent of any of the monsters there. "A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts" gave each of the three monsters there equal focus IMO, which is why it gets my vote.

Another list, for me to make, look forward to doing these

Won't rank: Super Scary Movie Night

10. The Feast of Dr. Frankenfooder- See, this is my issue with Guess Who. I've seen this I'm pretty sure, but I barely even remember anything about it despite it being in the most recent series. I don't remember anything atrocious I guess, though most others will have more worth saying about this than me

9. Who's Minding the Monster- I like it for how WEIRD it is

8. Frankencreepy- Really good modern era movie, but there is tough competition here

7. That's Monstertainment- My favorite episode of 13 Ghosts. It is hard for me to take how much of a role in these episodes a Frankenstein plays this round, so I am just ranking by favorites until I get to the top 2 where I would place the definitive Frankenstein episodes, and while I adore this episode, 13 Ghosts means less as a series than the series and movies above, which I also love

6. Scooby's Peephole Pandemonium- Underrated episode, and the mystery here deserves more credit for being really well set up and clever for such a short episode

5. Ghoul School- Ask anyone, and they'll correctly say this one has classic status.

4. Reluctant Werewolf- It is just classic fun and shenanigans. I could see where it goes a bit too long (and I would probably neither agree nor disagree) but it works anyway

3. A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle- A true classic episode. One of the best Scrappy era episodes

2. Chickenstein Lives- This is actually one of the first ones that comes to my mind as a Frankenstein episode. I could see this not being the case for many other people, but it probably helps that I also see this as the definitive episode of A Pup Named Scooby Doo (Not necessarily the best, most well liked, or famous episode, but I feel this episode best represents what A Pup Named Scooby Doo is as a series)

1. A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts- The definitive Frankenstein episode for me is this absolute CLASSIC. Not even a top ten episode of the series for me, but it is still an all timer. Says a lot about Where Are You

I love making these lists too! :) This is my favorite part of doing the weekly polls.

11. Super Scary Movie Night - great episode and one of my favorites of Get a Clue. Frankenstein's monster isn't particularly memorable here and only shows up briefly.

10. FrankenCreepy - I really enjoyed this movie! I wasn't a big fan of the over-the-top transitions and as everyone saw with my movie rankings, it's towards the middle of my list, but it's still an excellent film.

9. The Feast of Dr. Frankenfooder! - One of the more enjoyable Guess Who episodes. The monster is quite unique and I thought Alton Brown made a good guest star. I really liked the setting, too.

8. Who's Minding the Monster? - I also like this episode for how weird it is lol. Dracula's wife being named Poopsie was particularly strange haha.

7. Scooby's Peep Hole Pandemonium - I'm glad you also think that this is an underrated episode, because I completely agree with you. Arguably the best 11-minute Scrappy short (although "Scoobygeist" is close behind). I love how well-developed the mystery is.

6. A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle - I really didn't want to put this so low, but I don't feel Frankenstein's monster was particularly memorable here. He blends in with the other monsters and doesn't have much personality.

5. Reluctant Werewolf - Again, didn't want to put this one so low, but Dracula was the most memorable monster here. Frankenstein's monster at least had a personality here unlike in "A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle," but he still didn't really stand out like my top 3.

4. Ghoul School - my favorite Scooby-Doo film of all-time. However, given I'm ranking these based on how much this feels like a Frankenstein's monster episode/film, I tend to think of my top 3 much more as Frankenstein episodes.

3. Chickenstein Lives! - I guess I can't rank it second since I initially forgot to include this option lol, but this is a very unique take on Frankenstein that perfectly fits with the tone of A Pup Named Scooby-Doo. I completely agree with you that this episode represents the plot and tone of A Pup Named Scooby-Doo very well as a series. The Flintstone Kids cameo on TV was fun.

2. That's Monstertainment! - this one really sticks out to me as a Frankenstein's monster episode. Even though the villain wasn't Frankenstein's monster, the fact that this episode takes place in the Frankenstein movie, and Zomba is arguably kind of looks like Frankenstein's bride (at least a little bit), this episode comes to mind as a Frankenstein episode whereas a lot of these others don't.

1. A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts - a stone cold classic and THE Frankenstein episode for me. I thought this episode did a great job balancing Dracula, the werewolf and Frankenstein's monster so they each got equal focus, whereas many of the other Universal monsters episodes did not.

8. Yes, it is very strange LOL. It’s funny, because Who’s Minding the Monster almost feels like one of the most obscure episodes of any of the series I like, yet I feel like it has been on at least one more of these polls, and it makes it stick out a bit more to me than before

11/20/2022 08:49:46 pm

Yeah, it's been on a surprising amount of these polls (I think just because it has so many different monsters between Dracula, the Were-Baby and Frankenstein). I totally agree with you that it's one of the most obscure episodes of the franchise. Interestingly, the other most obscure episode that comes to mind is one from last week's poll, "Scooby-Doo and a Cyclops, Too!".

Scooby’s Peep Hole Pandemonium:
I enjoyed this episode. I liked the idea of the gang being journalists to get a photo of Norma Deathman. I liked that the butlers name is Franklin Stein a play on Frankenstein.

Orsane Kane as the Maid Mummy I guess wasn’t that much of a surprise. I liked that his plan was to have the gang interviews Norma and her associates while he steals her jewels.

It was interesting to find out that Norma Deathman is in fact in actual vampire and is 300 years old. Her wanting the gang for dinner was creepy. Glad that they were able to escape.

This is my favorite 11-minute Scrappy short. I love the plot of the gang going undercover in a vampire actress's house! I liked Franklin Stein's character. I wasn't surprised that Orson Kane was the villain given he was the only other character the gang met in that episode lol. His plan was very clever. I absolutely love the twist at the end that she's a real vampire!

Chickenstein Lives:
I really enjoyed this episode. It’s cool that this episode was the focus of National Exaggerator after hearing about it from the previous episodes and the Uncle Eddie owns it. Fred narrating the opening instead of Shaggy make sense for this episode. Freddy’s Uncle Eddie acted just like Freddy haha. We got to see Bigfoot. He has a cousin named Big Hands haha.

Chickenstein was a cool, creepy, creative and great villain. I liked that his sentences had the word egg in it. Casmer Codwaller as Granny Sweetwater was a surprise.

I liked Scoop Byline as a character. It was funny that him, Fred, and Scooby were accusing Hank Laughingstock for being Chickenstein and he became all fired up and yelled that he owns a chicken farm.

Scooby laying an egg was so random but funny. I liked that we got to se the Flintstones kids on tv.

It was nice that Freddie got congratulated by Scoop and everyone else and owes it all to his favorite newshound Scooby Doo.

This was a great episode! It was cool how we got to see Fred's uncle and that he owns the National Exaggerator. It was a fun change that Fred narrated the whole episode. The Big Hands joke was great lol.

I loved Chickenstein as a villain. He's definitely one of the most creative villains in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo! I liked his egg puns too lol. I was surprised Granny Sweetwater was Casper in disguised too.

I thought Hank and Scoop were great side character. Scooby laying an egg was bizarre lol. I love that Flintstone Kids reference too! It was neat that they had young Fred make a cameo on TV.

Super Scary Movie Night:
I liked this episode. I liked that this episode had a dark tone to it and feels like kind of a homage to classic Scooby Doo mysteries with the use of the universal monsters.

Dr. Phones giving the mummy a coin and the mummy fell for the trap felt like a callback to Scooby Doo and a Mummy Too where the Mummy of Ankha was after a coin.

I liked that character Bacon. He was funny. The fart jokes were a bit much though.

This is my second favorite episode of Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue, only behind “Mystery of the Missing Mystery Solvers.” I love that this episode had a spookier tone. I always love episodes with the Universal monsters, so that was a big plus for me on this episode. I liked how the mummy was obsessed with money lol. Bacon was a fun character. The one aspect about the episode I didn’t enjoy was the fart humor.
