Beast is Awake in Bottomless Lake for sure. It is either my second or third favorite episode of the Scooby Doo Show. ( I can't decide between it and a Creepy Tangle in the Bermuda Triangle
Wrath of Waitro definitely has its merits though.

I was really debating between "The Beast Is Awake in Bottomless Lake" and "E-Scream." I love how dark the former episode feels, and the villain's presence is amazing (he basically follows Shaggy and Scooby everywhere). I ultimately ended up going with "E-Scream," because of the unique episode concept of the gang being in a simulation and Velma has to figure out it's a simulation.

Definitely E Scream. A good episode to end What’s New Scooby Doo

That was my pick too! Like I mentioned in the reply above, I love how unique the episode's plot was. The Osomons were good villains as well.

It's close between Bottomless Lake and E-Scream. On one hand you have one of the most underrated/overlooked episodes of The Scooby-Doo Show and on the other one of the most memorable concepts for an episode with the WNSD finale. They're both entertaining and have a cool vibe, but I'm gonna go with E-Scream just slightly above Bottomless Lake. The intrigue and odd factor of the former makes it what it is; if it was straightforward and played out normally, without the twist, it wouldn't have been nearly as great.

Also, isn't The Wrath of Waitro in season 4 of A Pup? I think Wrestle Maniacs is the season 3 finale. And Moving Mollusk might actually be the season 4 finale.

I had that same issue and ended up with the same conclusion.

For "The Wrath of Waitro," I know it's kind of a controversial as to if it's part of season 3 or season 4, or if there even is a "season 4" of that show. Personally, I go by the volume sets and do not believe there was a 5-episode fourth season. I think it was all intended as one season and the airings just got split up where there were a few holdovers into 1991. The order of these last 5 episodes is also debated; some people believe "Mayhem of the Moving Mollusk" is last and others believe "The Wrath of Waitro" is last. The volume and season DVD sets don't help with that, since the volumes have Waitro last and the season sets have Mollusk last. I guess my assumption is that Waitro's last and there isn't a season 4, but I have nothing to necessarily back that assertion up (though the people that believe Mollusk is last don't either, so I suppose it's kinda anyone's guess lol). Also, "Waitro" would be alone if there were a season 4 poll, since there wasn't a season 4 of any other series, so I think this way makes it a little more fun :)

3. Wrath of Waitro- Decent for what it is, but obviously hard to stand a chance with how short of an episode it is

2. Beast is Awake in Bottomless Lake- Won’t lie, this is one of the weaker episodes of the Scooby Doo Show imo. With that being said, it is decent but pretty underwhelming compared to many of the other episodes that series

1. E-Scream- EASY pick. While the other two were rather weak for their respective series, E Scream is one of the best episodes of What’s New Scooby Doo. Experimental and unique in a very good way. What a high note for What’s New Scooby Doo to go out on

I basically have the same opinions as you other than one point, but the order is the same lol.

3. The Wrath of Waitro - It's a fine episode for what it is, but not one of the best Pup episodes.

2. The Beast Is Awake in Bottomless Lake - this is the point I don't agree on. I like how dark the episode feels and the setting is super creepy. I also love the Beast's design.

1. E-Scream - one of my favorite What's New episodes; amazing and unique premise. Great villains and one of the best series finales.

I’ll admit that the lake setting was really nice, but the episode itself ended up being lackluster for me. And a dark atmosphere is welcome, but I wish it reminded me more of a season 2 episode

That's fair. It definitely doesn't have that same season 2 charm, but I still enjoy it for what it is :)

E-Scream fore too. I love the unique concept in this one and I love wnsd in general. I like the other 2 as well. Good s03 finales

Tough one but not the biggest fan of The beast and E-scream so it'll be Waitro for me.

Interesting pick! What didn't you like about "E-Scream" out of curiosity? I can't say I've heard anyone say they didn't like that episode before.

I just re-watched after not seeing for awhile and it is as I recalled, I didn't like how anti-climatic the whole ending was or that the entire mystery was. Some of the clues were also to obvious and overall that made the last quarter very dull as you kind of could see what was coming. A nice reference to the captain cutler trap though towards the end with the soap and the hose.

sorry should say that the entire mystery was fake.

I suppose so, I just liked the uniqueness of the episode's premise in general so I didn't particularly mind that or feel the ending was a cop-out. I can see why you'd feel that way though.

This poll reminded us all that the Scooby Doo series really don't have Season 3s even when some series deserved one...

But on a happier note. E-Scream for me!! Lol

Haha right?!? I would have loved it if SDMI and/or BCSD got a third season.

Yes! I definitely wonder what SDMI and BCSD would have been like if they had at least one more season.

I think I mentioned this in a comment in the last few weeks, but I can't remember if it was to you or not...JCB confirmed that WB was considering a third season for BCSD and it would have been all 11-minute shorts like "The Curse of Half-Beard's Booty" and "Pizza O'Possum's" episodes. I didn't think that format worked particularly well, especially for "Pizza O'Possum," but JCB didn't write that one (and didn't write much of the other one either), so I would have loved to see what a BCSD short written by him would have been like!

I replied wrong again. I made a new post lol

Lamont

It was me! I remember that! As much as I loved Be Cool Scooby Doo, I would have loved having the 11 minutes shorts, even though I believe 11 minutes isn't for the classic Scooby Doo mystery formula. But I would have given it a chance, especially if JCB continued writing it.

Same! I don't think 11 minutes works great for Scooby, and it doesn't sound that's the format JCB wanted either (it sounds like it was more some executives' decision), but I definitely would have given it a chance!

(Also, weird, I don't get notifications when people make comments or anything, but I had just checked like literal seconds after you made your second post above lol).
