I picked The People of Fred Jones. The idea of that episode was nice and the funny.

I had a really hard time not picking that one because it ties together the season so well, but ultimately I went with "The Loch Ness Mess" because it's my favorite episode in the franchise.

I'm surprised to see Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue so high in your list! It was a very good Get a Clue episode though, and was among my favorites of the series. I personally didn't love "The Ransom of Scooby Chief" much either, for the two reasons you listed, mainly the first one. The villains being so generic made the episode very boring for me.

16. Bride and Gloom - the whole episode based on horrible stereotypes of an overly misogynistic guy who demands that the town give him a woman immediately. Just plain awful.

I can’t decide if that description of Bride and Gloom makes me want to avoid it at all costs or makes me want to watch it to rip it apart lol. Glad to see I wasn’t alone in really loving That’s Snow Ghost but not as much as some others here 12/12/2021 11:20:10 pm
My recommendation is to hate-watch it. Hate watching makes everything better haha!

It is Loch Ness mess vs All fear the freak. Loch Ness Mess is an ultimate classic with great plot and guest stars but All fear the freak had a great plot twist and had the greatest cliffhanger in the scooby history.

For me, it was "The Loch Ness Mess" vs. "All Fear the Freak" vs. "The People versus Fred Jones." All three have their charm, the latter two because they wrap up the season so well, but ultimately I went with the classic as well.

Nice rankings! You forgot a few though: "Operation Dog and Hippy Boy," "Quebec and Baghdad," "The Ransom of Scooby Chief," "Bride and Gloom," "Wedding Bell Boos," "The Nutcracker Scoob" and "Horror Scope Scoob" (though maybe you haven't seen these).

I will admit. I'm stumped! Lol! I'm really gonna have to think about it. I actually enjoyed these. Some episodes were weaker than others but still enjoyable.

It is super tough to pick one because they are all so great! It was a bit easier for me since my favorite episode of the franchise ("The Loch Ness Mess") was among these haha.

I really like this episode and the Snow Ghost. I also enjoyed the backstory they gave the Yeti with Fu Lan Chi. You're right that this episode had a lot of intense moments! This episode arguably had the gang in a more dangerous situation than they were in any of the previous 16 episodes.

My favorite episode of the franchise. Partly because of the nostalgia, but also because I just love everything about the episode. The setting, plot, guest stars, and villains are all amazing. I've mentioned it in an earlier comment, but the scene where the ghosts say there's no escape after they lock themselves in the cabin always bothered me as a kid (and even still bothers me now), because it just makes no sense lol.

I liked the historical aspect of this episode and that it was set 200 years after the American Revolution in 1776. The villains and setting were amazing!

I didn't love this episode. It felt like a backdoor pilot for the Scrappy shorts, but it felt like it dragged on. I didn't really care for the villains. I've always wondered how much them deciding to do this episode was influenced by Marla Frumkin suddenly quitting her role as Velma. Velma doesn't speak at all in this episode, so maybe it required them to think creatively about how they could essentially cut her out of the episode without it being obvious.

I enjoyed this one a little more than the typical Scrappy short, because the plot was unique and the humor felt a little funnier to me. It's always felt like a little more thought was put into the writing of this short than some of the others.

Very weird and I didn't care for the villain's sexism where he's trying to get a wife so she could cook and clean for him. The worst season (and series) finale IMO.

This is one of my favorite Scrappy-Doo episodes of all time. I've always loved McBaggy Rogers as a villain, given he was an ancestor of Shaggy's. I love the New England setting. I enjoyed getting to meet Shaggy and Scooby's families.

My favorite Scooby-Doo Christmas-themed episode. They did such a great job combining those two classic Christmas stories. I also enjoyed the villain. Shaggy's nervous breakdown is also quite amusing.

My thoughts exactly. It was a good normal episode but it didn't conclude anything. Zimbulu had a really cool design and it was a surprising twist that Tellulah was him in disguise the whole time.

I enjoyed this episode too. Stinkweed was indeed a very unique villain (especially with his voice changing), and the plot of Fred filming a movie was fun.

My favorite baseball episode. The Baseball Spectre was a great villain and I also liked how he threw flaming baseballs. Him coming up behind the gang was easily the creepiest moment of the episode. The ending was very heartwarming.

I think you meant season finale, but yeah I really enjoyed this one too! I thought the inspiration they took from the Batman villains was cool as well. The episode ending with Phibes finding the formula definitely kept me on the edge of my seat for the next season!

This is one of my favorite season finales ever too. The Freak is one of the creepiest villains of the franchise, arguably. It really bothers me that they didn't keep up the continuity of the Freak saying riddles. I also liked his big knife, which I felt made him creepier. The caves were also very creepy.

The plot of this episode was so unique, and it was super interesting that the jury was previous culprits. The Toxic Mutant was a great villain. I liked how the story was told in the format of a court case. Daphne becoming a lawyer was fun. The episode overall was wonderful and hilarious.

I wasn't the biggest fan of this episode. Neil deGrasse Tyson wasn't a great guest star; he was just kinda bland to me. Bill was somewhat better than him, but I still liked him better in Happy Halloween. I liked how original the monster was. I also thought it was really unique that The New Scooby-Doo Movies background from the intro was used for the trap.

Hmm, there aren't quite that many amazing season 1 finales as one might think. A lot of them are close to that, but not quite. Weird.

I partially agree with your first statement, though I feel "All Fear the Freak" and "The People vs. Fred Jones" are the some of the best of their series. I do agree with all of your disappointment episodes though (as well as the shoulder shrug ones haha).
