There's much less options this week, but I thought it would be fun to piggyback off of last week's poll to see what people's favorite third season premiere was. I only counted the first short for A Pup Named Scooby-Doo as the premiere, since "Dawn of the Spooky Shuttle Scare" is its own episode with a different plot.

Here are the results from last week's poll:
What is your favorite second season premiere from a Scooby-Doo show?
Nowhere to Hyde - 22
The Night the Clown Cried - 19
Some Fred Time - 15
Big Appetite in Little Tokyo - 6
The Mystery of Haunted Island - 5
The Curse of the Viking Lake - 5
Shaggy and Scooby World - 2
The Phantom, the Talking Dog, and the Hot Hot Hot Sauce! - 2
Curse of the Collar - 1
Russia and the Caribbean - 1
Scooby Nocchio - 0

Fright house of a Lighthouse hands down. Great season 3 premiere.

3. Watch Out, the Willawaw: essentially the same episode as Curse of the Viking Lake with a few things changed up. Unfortunately, it is much less interesting and charming than that episode for me. Not much of a fan

2. Night of the Boogey Biker: You could tell that they were running out of ideas at this point in the series. They still had some good and even great third season episodes (I point to Were Doo and Wrestle Maniacs as some great ones). And honestly, this one is good too. Granted, it is a novelty episode which seems to be a theme in third seasons as the third seasons of APNSD and WNSD have some novelty episodes in them. But it works

1. Fright House of a Light House: Easy choice here. This is a great episode of What’s New Scooby Doo. I love the lighthouse setting and the double mystery going on.

As a whole, I’d argue What’s New Scooby Doo had the strongest third season with A Pup Named Scooby Doo probably having the worst case of running out of ideas simply from the fact that the season is so short. Granted, I still enjoy all of the episodes there to some degree, but yeah

3. Night of the Boogey Biker - it was a unique idea to have Fred be unable to accuse Red Herring the one time he was the villain, although it felt a bit too short.

2. Watch Out! The Williwaw! - the episode is indeed very similar to "The Curse of Viking Lake." Atmospherically it's quite a creepy episode, but it's definitely a little bit of a step down from season 2. I did enjoy the villain and the Owl Men were surprisingly creepy as well.

1. Fright House of a Lighthouse - This was one of my favorite What's New episodes. It was fun to meet Fred's uncle, and as you said the double mystery was cool. The Creepy Keeper was a super original villain and had an amazing design. All-around an amazing way to start an amazing season.

Yeah, I would agree with your overall assessment. It felt like they were beginning to run out of ideas with season 3 of Pup (especially given 5 out of the 9 episodes are shorts). I did enjoy season 3 of The Scooby-Doo Show for its globetrotting aspect, where the gang is visiting a famous city/country nearly every episode, though WNSD also did that to an extent throughout the series. I think WNSD had the strongest season 3 with consistently amazing plots and mysteries.

You forgot the season 3 premier of scooby doo and scrappy doo (shorts) or known in the USA as the scooby and scrappy doo puppy hour.

That was actually intentional. I probably should have put another note like I did with the last poll, but I count The Scooby & Scrappy-Doo Puppy Hour as a separate show since a different intro was made for it. Thank you so much for pointing that out though!

Watch Out The Williawa:
This episode is on the same level as The Curse of Viking Lake being not strong enough premieres but pretty creepy and dark episodes. The Williawa was pretty cool and scary. The Owelmen were really creepy.

Night Of The Boogey Biker:
This was a great but short season 3 premiere. The whole idea of the bet about Fred not accusing Red Herring about anything for 24 hours was nice. He’s been doing that the whole series and up to this episode is when they decided to do a plot about it. It turns out in this episode, Red Herring was the culprit and his motive was sweet. The Boogey Biker was pretty cool.

I thought the B-plot of Fred betting that he could go 24 hours without accusing Red is what made the episode more interesting. I think it would have felt even more rushed if it were just a regular mystery with no B-plot. I liked the Boogey Biker's design as well, and Red's motive was indeed sweet :)

Fright House of a Lighthouse:
This was a great season 3 premiere. The Creepy Keeper was a great and scary villain. The Dauntless Skeleton Crew looked pretty cool. It was cool that this episode had two mysteries. Verona Dempsey was nice touch. She was a clone of Velma Dinkely. Same first initials, clothing color, glasses, she even has her own catchphrase: Jinkers. It also pretty interesting that she solved the mystery of the Dauntless and foiling Crusty McPete and later turned out to be the culprit of the Creepy Keeper.

The dual mystery aspect is one of my favorite parts of this episode. The Creepy Keeper was by far my favorite villain and is one of the creepiest What's New villains IMO, but I liked the Dauntless Skeleton Crew too. Verona's "Jinkers" catchphrase amused me haha.

Fright House of a Lighthouse definitely! Because of one word........Jinkers! Lol. I hope in the future we'll get another series that has 3 seasons. I kinda wished Be Cool Scooby Doo had one.

Ha! I like "Jinkers" too lol. I wish BCSD had three seasons too! Apparently at one point, JCB was considering making a third season but WB wanted it to be all 11-minute shorts, which JCB didn't think was a good idea given how the season 2 ones turned out. That's why those two shorts are right at the end of season 2 though, because they were testing it out to see if the formula would work for a third season.

I can't believe WB asked for 11 minutes! That really isn't enough for a Scooby Doo Mystery. Maybe it was because the show was a comedy and cartoon comedies nowadays are 11 minutes. But I see they didn't come for Scooby Doo and Guess Who with that 11 minutes thing.

I was really surprised by that too. It's not nearly enough time to develop an engaging mystery. I have a feeling that WB was hoping to go the "comedy short" route with them. Maybe it could have worked if JCB was involved (WB prevented him from being involved at all with the two in season 2), but I think it still would have been tough to make the formula work.

Watch Out! The Willawaw by far! It is in my top ten favorite episodes in the entire franchise.
Some of the greatest comedy bits in all of Scooby are included here.

Anyone else noticed that that the chase scene in Fright House of a Lighthouse is similar to the chase scene in Rolled Ghoster Ride. Shaggy and Scooby are running, look back and see the monster is behind them. They run through shops and come out with stuff on them. The chase scenes are them riding on things away from the monster also ridding something. There’s the door door gag, they’re behind the monster who looks back and scares them. The monster tries to get their head, Scooby lands on the monster and the monster hits an object.
