Warner Brothers shared a bit more information about the upcoming Velma series today at the Annecy Festival in France. According to Variety, some more images were revealed at the festival that showed more of the supernatural elements in this series. One image apparently shows a woman transforming into a monster with a long neck, and another showed Velma's face being completely enveloped in the arms of a snake-like creature. In addition, it was revealed a major focus point of the series will be Velma investigating the overarching mystery of her mother's disappearance.
The Executive Vice President of alternative programming at Warner Brothers Animation, Peter Girardi, shared that “we’ve seen these characters in preschool and 6-11 shows, but now evolving them into an adult animation space has been something we’ve been working on for a long time." None of these images have been released to the general public yet.

It's annoying how all this stuff is revealed, but we the public don't get to see. It's for investors and whatnot, and less sophisticated than Disney Investors Day it seems, cause at least with that we get somewhat more out of it.

I wish they would release the images to the public too! It's strange they don't.

The part about Velma's face being completely enveloped in the arms of a snake-like creature sounds disgusting and disasterful to me, I am more exicted about the news of a new Wacky Races series since it sounds much better then this series.

DISTASTEFUL??? Bro the whole gang has literally been in the nastiest situation and you are worried about Velma’s face covered by the hands of a snake-like creature? Literally this is just showcasing how you will cling onto ANY smallest detail to bash this show. Talk about distasteful…

What I a worried about is that Velma will be of a more horror series rather then a detective/mystery, give that the description states that a woman will transform into a monster. Granted this a adult series so blood and gore is to expected in it, bur elments of horror scenes is a different matter and I very much frown upon such things featured in this. 6/16/2022 05:59:48 pm
Thanks for sharing the links, Scoobylover! Do you know who the person that wrote those tweets is? I'm just curious in terms of their credibility or if they worked on the show at all.

Velma's face being covered by snake arms is just the same as saying her face is being covered by vines. It might be bad, but that's just the typical danger of the series, anyway. It's probably no worse than what they did in Mystery Incorporated, in some respects.

This is why I don't get the hate for velma it's likely just going to be another version of the gang and nothing more I don't think it's going to have a huge impact on the franchise they make Scooby doo stuff that deviate from the formula and stuff that don't. 6/17/2022 02:41:12 pm
I love what you said at the bottom and I completely agree. Maybe some variations of the franchise will be better or worse for some people, but I like that they're experimenting. Two seasons of Guess Who was enough in my opinion, I wouldn't want anything more like that and I'm ready for something new at this point. Leave a Reply. |
