With only hours left before the show premieres, a trailer has been released for Velma. The trailer shows that a lot of classic villains, including Captain Cutler and The Creeper, will be making cameos in the show. You can check out the trailer above.

There's also an uncensored R-rated version of the trailer that can be watched on the official Velma Instagram page.

Watch the R-rated version of the trailer on HBO Max's Instagram to get a better grasp of what the show is like.

Dunno what to say about it honestly. It feels like whiplash. Pretty strange.

I didn't realize there was an R-rated version. Very interesting though, not sure I have thoughts right now but it does look very strange.

The show having been described as a "love square" is what lowers my expectations the most. Another thing is that, besides Velma, the gang doesn't really feel/act like themselves much, especially Shaggy, he doesn't seem remotely close to the Shaggy we know, like a completely different character.

After watching the first two episodes, I can confirm that the show is definitely a love square, and everyone except Velma seems like completely different characters.

Even though it doesn't have Scooby, which is who the whole franchise is based around, the show actually looks really good. Now that we finally got to see how everyone sounds, and the situations they'll be in, it's a nice fresh take on things.
While it may not measure up to the usual Scooby-Doo shows we've gotten over the years, I think it might be worth checking out.

I'll admit it's not what I was expecting but I am still looking forward to the series!

There's a slightly different version of this trailer without the censored parts, and instead of the scene here when Fred defends Velma in the hallway, it shows him getting revenge on Red Herring, so it's gonna be interesting at the very least.

The uncensored scenes were very interesting to say the least. I can see now why they censored the girl with her brains cut open lol.

I just watch the trailer, and while I still prefer the Scooby Doo shows we've gotten prior, I'm still going to give it a chance and check it out.

It definitely looks odd, but yeah, I'll be watching this tomorrow and giving it a fair chance.

, I am interested in this I know that it's very different but at the end of the day weather or not this show is bad it's not going to ruin the franchise, their are other scooby doo stuff you can watch if you are not interested and theirs probably more scooby doo content in the works at the end of the day it's just a different interpretation scooby doo has many of those.

yeah can't really say i had hopes before but now it just drills me with this show only using the brand name to get attention. Still hard to say who character is the worse, definitely either shaggy or as this show is calling him Norville or Fred.

I could see this going either way based on the trailer

I’m still waiting though

I feel like my biggest concern isn’t any of the adult themes or anything like that, it is just the absurd amount of meta humor

My biggest concern is that the show is a love square

@Matt I didn't feel that the meta humor was overpowering after watching the first few episodes.

@Becker I won't spoil anything, but the love square thing was a decently big part of the first two episodes.

Yea... I think I'm going to avoid any scooby doo news for a bit, good luck y'all batten the hatches cause we're about to get rocked...

Understandable. After watching the first two episodes, the show definitely leaned into the "edgy for the sake of being edgy" stuff, so I can see how that wouldn't be for everyone.
