There's some exciting news today for fans of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated fans! Sheriff Stone and Mayor Janet Nettles will be making their first official appearance in the franchise in 10 years in Batman and Scooby-Doo Mysteries #9. The comic centers around Crystal Cove unveiling a new "Scooby Signal" so that the town can call on the Scooby gang on a moment's notice, based upon the success of the Bat Signal. However, a villainous clown car attacks the ceremony, and the Scooby gang has to solve the case with Batman. In addition to Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated characters reappearing, there will also be a flashback to A Pup Named Scooby-Doo in the comic. The comic will be released this coming Tuesday, June 13. You can read a free preview of the comic now on the AIPT Comics website.

I've always thought Sheriff Stone would be a great character to have appear across multiple iterations of Scooby-Doo, not just restricted to SDMI. His personality type was primed for a BCSD appearance. He'd fit well in the DTVs too, he already has a classic version of his design from Mystery Solvers Club State Finals. And maybe he could've made SDGW more bearable with his presence lol.

Agreed, he's one of the best recurring characters in the franchise IMO. His humor definitely would fit the style of a lot of different series. I don't know if I would have wanted him in Guess Who though, he deserves better haha. I hope he'll appear in more shows/films again in the future, and not just this one comic.

A new Flintstones origin story animated movie, Meet the Flintstones ’ is in early development at Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. it is written by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. I wonder how this movie will turn out to be.

Man. The first page of the issue has APNSD Shaggy and Scooby on Crystal Cove.

I think it would be really cool! They could also say that Crystal Cove and Coolsville are neighboring towns, or maybe even that Crystal Cove is a suburb of Coolsville. I find it interesting that they're pushing for Crystal Cove so much lately, but it makes sense. Even though Coolsville is the original, Crystal Cove is the more mature sounding name.

Have to agree with that second thing you said, along with the possibility of them being neighboring towns. They've been going back and forth so many times with this concept to the point where it's just too confusing. First Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo, and now this?

It is definitely odd that they are going back and forth so much. I’m guessing it’s because different writers have different opinions on what city should be used, but I’m not sure. Leave a Reply. |
