At long last, the Scooby-Doo Reunion Special we heard about back in May has been announced by SpoilerTV! The hour-long special, titled Scooby-Doo, Where Are You Now? will air on the CW network on Friday, October 29 at 8:00pm/7:00pm central. The special will feature the gang coming to Warner Brothers Studios to talk about their favorite cases and how they were filmed, but they soon discover another monster mystery in the process. The special is hosted by Janel Parrish (of Pretty Little Liars and To All the Boys I've Loved Before fame), and will include several guest stars: Iain Armitage (of Young Sheldon fame, though you might also know him as young Shaggy from SCOOB!), Karamo from Queer Eye, Tony Cervone (SDMI and SCOOB! writer), Mitch Watson (SDMI producer), Olivia Liang (from Kung Fu), David Silverman (animator on the Simpsons), Seth Green (played Patrick in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed), Tom Sito (an animator), Cheri Oteri (from Saturday Night Live) and Weird Al Yankovic. The special will also feature animation historian Jerry Beck, who is the same guy that made a post earlier this year that caused people to freak out that WB was stopping all DVD production.
This special is written, directed and executive produced by Jonathan Stern, and a collaboration between Warner Brothers Animation and Warner Brothers Unscripted Television, alongside Abominable Pictures and Warner Horizon. The special will air again on the CW on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 25) at 8:00pm/7:00pm central.

Jonathan Stern actually also directs the special. He is known for making satirical, dark and/or surreal comedy shows.

Sorry, the first of those "produced"s should have said "directed" lol. Thank you for pointing it out, I fixed it. Interesting that he makes dark/surreal comedy shows. I imagine that this will fall into the satirical and/or surreal comedy category rather than dark.

Jerry Beck is funny since he's not really a Scooby-Doo fan (though he does like Pup)

I would honestly love if they put a little meta joke in there about people taking his words out of context to mean that they were immediately halting production of all DVDs haha. I doubt they'll do that, but it would certainly be amusing.

Like Lance A Rutt said, it is surprising that Jerry Beck is there. Maybe it is more of a respect thing even if Scooby isn't his personal thing

That's probably a likely possibility. It will be interesting to see how he contributes to the special.

Are these guests being animated, or are they just going to randomly pop up like they would do if they're in a DVD extra?

It's an animated special, I imagine the former.

I hope they're being animated! Admittedly, I hate when they try to combine live action and animation in most instances. I know some people don't mind/enjoy it, but I find it annoying tbh.

I must say I really like the title and it’s crazy that it’s premiering on the CW in a couple of weeks. Absolutely cannot wait.

It's okay lol, I know you meant the one below it. It's possible we could get a promo, I personally just don't think it's likely given we've only got three weeks until it airs. I very well could be wrong though.

I honestly didn't know that it had an actual title I thought it was going to be just scooby doo reunion special which I would have been fine but the new title works too and if the special is airing on october 29th that means that we might see a trailer or promo soon which i'm excited for however because I live in the uk and that we don't have the cw I don't think I can watch the actual special.

Tbh I thought that too haha. I hope we get a trailer! I'm not sure if they'll make one though given they announced it so late.

They could still make one just a week before it airs though 10/6/2021 09:16:28 am
I suppose they could. I guess my doubt comes from how surprised I am that they announced this so last-minute, so it feels like they're not going to go to great lengths to promote this by making a trailer. I absolutely could be wrong though and I hope I am.

Should've have Mark Evanier as much as Jerry Beck.

I'm just wondering did scooby natural have a trailer or promo and if it did does anyone know when it came out?

It did! It came out exactly a week before the special aired. Here's the link to watch the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4plYWgWGIjE

This makes me think that maybe we will get one for the reunion special if the scoobynatural trailer got released a week before.

The cold open of last week's Saturday Night Live had a Scooby reference. Biden says that Kyrsten Sinema looked like all the Scooby-Doo characters at the same time. It's at 1:28. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzEPvj46rGQ

"How was your summer? Mine was bad!" hahahaha. Thanks for sharing this. Gave me a good laugh this morning. There's been a lot of Scooby references on SNL lately! Also, I have to say I liked the "don't take the trains away from me!" line lol.

I forgot to say that Kacey Musgraves was musical guest. I have to admit, that she wasn't very entertaining, although I did like her second song more. 10/7/2021 01:40:30 pm
I noticed that Kacey Musgraves was the musical guest too! I didn't watch her performance though, and I don't think I will now since it doesn't sound very good lol. While I do like a few of her songs, I thought her appearance in Guess Who was kind of lackluster. She just didn't seem that into the role.

Still no trailer for the Reunion Special, and it is not listed to be released on any streaming at least not for october. hmm I wonder could this be one of those rare cases where this will end up airing on cable TV only but not any streaming site? I really do hope somobody will record this when it airs on cable otherwise some fans may not get to see it at all.

Nope it is not listed on the CW app either. The thing to bear in mind is that while it is true that many things do end up on streaming these day, this is does not apply to every show and movie being made available on streaming. Which is why I still have cable TV. 10/9/2021 08:08:42 am
@Whackman I'm a big fan of the Flintstones and honestly I found Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs to be pretty awful. I've only seen a few episodes, and there were a ton of cringey things, most memorably Dino dabbing.

I agree Wildwind, Yabba-Dabba Dinosaurs is so terrible 10/9/2021 08:06:59 am
I was wondering about the CW App too! Is the CW App a streaming service though? I think you just have to enter your TV provider info to be able to watch things rather than signing up like a traditional streaming service would have you do. I guess it technically is, just not one of the main ones.

As mentioned earlier, us in the UK may have trouble getting to see this. It’s possible Boomerang UK will show it but if this is tailored towards more fans of our age group then I can’t see it being shown on a kids channel. Warner streaming hasn’t even touched the uk yet, nothing along the lines of hbo Max or cw etc.

I feel like this special will be more for older scooby doo fans considering the fact that it is on the CW I don't expect it to be as bloody as scoobynatural but maybe there is going to be some swearing or something like that but yeah I don't know how i'm going to watch it as a UK citizen myself.

Hopefully it will air on E4 for you all like James suggested in another thread. I don't think I've ever heard of Dropbox, though. Is that just a UK only streaming service?

Oh, I didn't realize Stephen was talking about that Dropbox, haha. I have heard of it, I just wasn't aware it was used for videos as well. Thanks for the explanation!

E4 only showed scoobynatural because they were the channel which showed supernatural.

Oh, that would make sense then. I hope it either makes it way to DVD or that maybe some more adult-oriented primetime network in the UK can air it if it is indeed too mature for ITV.
