A brand new featurette for the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You Now reunion special has been released by the CW. The featurette includes some of the guest stars discussing why Scooby-Doo is such an iconic show for them, and also includes a few writers. You can check out the featurette above. In addition, a one-minute sneak peek of the reunion special has been released by TVInsider. The clip features a scene where the gang is shown their old audition tapes, revealing that Jabberjaw and The Great Gazoo (from The Flintstones) will also make cameos in the special.
The reunion special will air on the CW this Friday, October 29 at 8:00pm (Eastern Time Zone).

I'm really glad they released another clip and a featurette for this. I was getting worried that this was just going to be another thing that got little to no promotion like a lot of Scooby things seem to.

Thank you! I did already link this in the post though (that's what the TVInsider link goes to).

Hahaha guess I was wrong. I'm glad I was though! This special looks like it's going to be a lot of fun and deserves to get a lot of promotion!

This is probably a stupid question but when it comes out are you going to review.

It's not a stupid question at all! I hope to be able to watch it on Friday, but I did set it up to record just in case I don't have time that night. It's possible I'd get the review up as early as Friday night (and that's my goal), but I could also see it taking until the weekend or Monday to write up my review.

Do you believe that we're going to be getting a new Scooby Doo series soon, not counting the Velma spinoff?

I would guess maybe in 2023? I think they will want to dedicate focus to the Velma series for at least a little while.

in all honesty I am getting somewhat annoyed about alleged rumors about new Scooby-Doo shows being in the works. first we heard a rumor that a sequel to Scoob! was in the works, (which was back in june) yet ever since then we have not heard anything futher about this which is why I am skeptical that it is still in production. later some of us thought that trick or Treat, Scooby-Doo! might be a series but this later turned out to be untrue. Some time ago there was a rumor about a live-action Scooby-doo series in the works on scoobyaddicts.proboards, but it turned out it got canned later. in addition to this I have come several unspecified rumors during the past several weeks which clamied that that a new Scooby-doo show is in the works all of which turned out to be fake

I always take things with a grain of salt until it's officially announced. You are correct that there have been a lot of rumors, though I don't think not hearing anything about them for a while means they're not true. The Scoob! sequel and Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo might still be in production, but they also might not. We have no way of knowing what projects will come to fruition so it's not worth getting frustrated over. The Courage film was first posted on TCM in 2019 and we heard no official announcement until mid-2021, so you never know what might happen. Both the Scoob! sequel and Trick or Treat are still pretty new, and the announcement for the latter of those said they were just hiring people to work on the show. That means it will probably be a while until we hear anything more about Trick or Treat.

Well whatever the next series, I hope its better than Guess Who which just felt like nothing but forced nostalgia and diminished returns. It would be great if they did another series like Be Cool hopefully with a more appealing art style to avoid backlash from basic surface level people. 10/27/2021 05:47:44 pm
I would love another series like Be Cool and I really hope they make one again someday, even if it's not the next series. Be Cool's humor, character dynamics and overall writing was amazing!

A Scoob sequel is actually still in the works, just because there haven't been any updates in a few months does not mean it's not still going. And it's probably in pre-production, they haven't started actual production yet, hence no reason to update. If you think a project is probably dead just cuz you haven't heard news about it in a few months then I don't think you understand how the filmmaking industry goes. A film takes time to be developed. By your logic, Scoob 2020 would have gotten canned by 2015. Also, I'm 99% sure it's gonna be a movie sequel. A Scoob show would need too high of a budget to keep it consistent in animation and voice cast with the film for WB to greenlight it, at least yet. It's not warranted with only one Scoob movie so far.

@Wildwind, has Trick or Treat's format been revealed yet? I forgot if someone working on it confirmed what it's going to be. If no one's confirmed it, how do you know it's not going to be a series, @Whackman?

I'm glad Frank Welker, Matthew Lillard, Kate Micucci and Grey Delisle are a part of this. It would be cool if the other surviving voice actors make an appearance too.

A funny thing to do with a meta project like this would be to change voice actors at certain points during the runtime, for example Shaggy and Scooby suddenly being voiced by Scott Innes for a bit before reverting back to Lillard and Welker, and working that alteration into a joke as they notice it.

Me too! I really hope that they make a surprise appearance even if they weren't part of the announced guest stars.
