There are three amusing instances in Laff-a-Lympics season 1 of characters accidentally showing up in the audience cheering for themselves, even though they are competing in the event. The first instance happens in "The Sahara Desert and Scotland," which shows the Teen Angels are cheering for themselves in the crowd, despite the fact that they are currently participating in the Fill Up The Oasis Contest. In "India and Israel," Yogi appears in the audience cheering for himself in the Reed Boat Race. Lastly, in "The Grand Canyon and Ireland," Dastardly Dalton is shown cheering for himself during the Catch the Leprechaun Contest (Leprechaun-test? lol).

"Mine Your Own Business" maintained a steady lead throughout the week, but at the last minute, Shaggy's Showdown pulled ahead and took the win!
What is your favorite Scooby episode taking place in the old west? Scooby-Doo! In all three instances of this, the Yogis benefitted from the wrong medal being given out.
In "Acapulco and England," the Yogis and Rottens tied, but the Yogis are the only team that get the silver medal, whereas the Rottens get the bronze medal. Similarly, in "Egypt and Sherwood Forest," the Rottens were shown with the bronze medal despite that they were in second place, and the Yogis received the silver medal even though they were actually in last place. In "New York and Turkey," the Scooby Doobies came in second place but got the bronze medal. The Yogis lost, but were given the silver medal. Matthew Lillard was recently interviewed by Toonado, and dropped an exciting tidbit about an upcoming Scooby project. He didn't provide much details as to what it was, but he noted that it would be a unique project that will "allow kids to put themselves in a Scooby-Doo adventure." Here's his full quote from the interview:
"I’m really excited about [Scooby-Doo]. I can’t really talk about it yet, but there’s a new project I’m associated with that will allow kids to put themselves into a Scooby-Doo adventure," Lillard shared. "That’s super fun. For me, that’s my day job. It’s my bread and butter." You can watch the interview where Matthew Lillard teases this here. The interview covers a number of subjects, both Scooby-related and not, but the project is teased around the 13:00 mark. Alright, let's try this again. We are going to do last week's ghost town poll again with a clearer prompt, since "ghost town" was admittedly rather vague. This time, we're changing the prompt to "favorite Old West episode." This means all of the Yabba-Doo episodes qualify, except for "Go East, Young Pardner" as that episode took place in New York. I was generous with what I included here and tried to pick any episode that people could consider as qualifying for this prompt, even if it could be a bit of a stretch (i.e. "Night on Haunted Mountain"). If I've missed anything, feel free to leave a comment and let me know!
Thanks to Shadowscooby and Mr. Neither for suggesting this week's poll idea! Here are the results for last week's poll: What is your favorite dinosaur episode? Hang in There, Scooby-Doo! - 21 Legend of the Phantosaur - 17 Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed - 6 3-D Struction - 5 Attack of the Weird Al-osaurus! - 4 Scary Christmas - 3 The Dinosaur Deception - 2 Sweet Dreams Scooby - 1 Scooby-Doo and the Sky Town Cool School! - 1 Hey all! I'm excited to announce (and shamelessly plug) the release of the final part of my Hexed fanfic series, which I just published the first chapter of today. Since the last two were from Thorn and Dusk's perspectives, respectively, the third and final fic (titled The Witching Hour) is from the perspective of Luna. Following on from the last two parts, the plot involves The Hex Girls going to a songwriting conference in Nashville at the prestigious Hermitage Hotel. When the girls' room is accidentally double-booked, they have to stay at another hotel, which they soon discover may be haunted by the ghost of a long-dead spirit from the time of the American Revolution. Meanwhile, Luna also has to cope with her performance anxiety when the girls are asked to do a concert at the conference. When Luna's anxiety gets so out of hand that she considers quitting the band, she must make a decision once and for all about which is more powerful - her love of writing music, or her touring anxiety.
The first chapter of this fanfic is now available on AO3, and a new chapter will be published every Friday. This fanfic will be much shorter than most of my other fics to date with only seven chapters, the last of which will be posted on April 19, 2024. (Note that I didn't miscount the number of weeks here; there will be a one-week break midway through publishing) Although those who follow my fanfics know that I typically publish on both AO3 and Fanfiction.net, I've made the decision to exclusively publish this fanfic on AO3. Fanfiction.net has been having some significant glitches recently. It seems to be hit or miss as to whether it saves when I upload a chapter, and I also can't view my messages without getting an error page. Unfortunately, this has been happening since last September, and there seems to be no signs of it being fixed, so I've just decided to not publish there since I can't even get the site to work 75% of the time. I hope you enjoy the final part of this fanfic series if you decide to check it out! Besides the Laff-a-Lympics parody and the Scooby-Doo cameo I posted about last week, Jellystone! season 3 had a number of other Scooby references.
Here are the results for last week:

The new season featured crossover episodes with The Jetsons and Goober and the Ghost Chasers, but perhaps most interesting for Scooby fans is that one episode is a re-imagining of the Laff-a-Lympics, titled "LAFF Games". The episode features the town of Jellystone facing off against the town of New Bedrock in the yearly LAFF Games, which Mayor Huckleberry is determined to win due to the town being humiliated at every year. The participants from Jellystone are the Yogi Yahooeys, whereas the New Bedrock participants are the Really Rottens. Snagglepuss and Mildew Wolf return as the commentators. The Scooby Doobies don't make an appearance in this episode, but I still thought this would be newsworthy to share for those who were fans of Laff-a-Lympics.
I watched the episode this morning and thought it was an excellent re-imagining that captured the tone and whimsy of the original series, while also staying true to the absurdist humor of Jellystone! What I loved most about the episode is that the crossover didn't feel forced at all; it felt very natural and like an enjoyable throwback to the show. I love the humor of this series, and this episode didn't disappoint (the scene where Yakky is dealing with her guilty conscience had me laughing pretty hard). If you enjoyed the Laff-a-Lympics and liked the more absurd humor style of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!, I would highly recommend checking out this episode. There is also a brief Scooby-Doo cameo in the episode "Frankenhooky," which is the Goober and the Ghost Chasers crossover, although I don't know if I'd say that one is worth checking out if you're not already a fan of the series. The episode got increasingly weird and while I enjoyed it as a fan of the series, it definitely felt like a fever dream and not anything notable enough to check out. In "Wednesday Is Missing," all of the actors from The Addams Family show reprised their roles except for two. Wednesday and Pugley's original actors, Lisa Loring and Ken Weatherwax, did not return to voice their characters from the original series, and were replaced by Cindy Henderson and Jodi Foster, respectively.
