Some very sad news today from Roger Eschbacher, one of the writers for Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Pups. Roger posted on his Twitter account that he received word from a colleague on the show, and HBO Max has told them they are no longer interested in distributing the show. This means that unless they are able to get the show picked up by another network or streaming service, the show is cancelled. Roger ended his tweet on a hopeful note, saying he remains hopeful that the show will be picked up by another distributor.

Yeah, I think they will probably stick to something closer to the original formula since WB seems to be cancelling anything that won't make them a lot of money (except Velma, for some reason).

This is ridiculous! They cancel a show with so much potential but then they renew Velma for season 2! I don’t understand.

Agreed, it's definitely a bummer considering I know of very few people who are excited about Velma getting another season, whereas it seemed that most people were looking forward to Mystery Pups. To be fair though, Velma season 2 is still in development just like Mystery Pups was, so there's a possibility they could cancel Velma too.

Yeah, I wish I were more surprised too, but I'm not. I hope WB is able to figure things out so they stop canning shows like this.

Last year the animated show Batman: The Caped Crusader was also removed from HBO Max's upcoming slate, but it's not cancelled, it's still being shopped around to other distributors. Mystery Pups is seemingly in the same boat.

I wish they would make another 2 seasons of TNSDM because it's my favourite formula in all of Scooby-Doo. But, I wish they would ignore all the tech and new systems they have now for making shows and use just drawings to make it as it was previously. I know that no one would go for the hard way when you have all the animations and computer tech that can produce a show in half the time but I really just miss how television in general used to be.

The New Scooby-Doo Movies is my favorite series, so I'd love a continuation of that if they were able to match the exact tone of the original (unlike Guess Who).

Where are you has better episodes but the formula of TNSDM is and always will be my favourite. It just needs some better episodes. (But, the good ones that there are are amazing) 3/5/2023 10:44:37 am
While the tone of each series is definitely different, I like them both in different ways although TNSDM slightly edges out WAY for me.

What is this to say about Cartoonito? Are they cancelling that next? Cause there's not much future with the block, if they're gonna be cancelling new shows.

I was wondering that as well, it seems like that might mean they're cancelling Cartoonito too if they no longer feel it's profitable.

Thanks for sharing this with us! Unfortunately, I had to edit the link out of your comment. I'm fine with the episodes/films that have aired legally in other countries, but having a link to download a leaked film on the site is a copyright gray area I'd rather not get involved in. If folks want to check it out, they can go to 4chan and download the film. Sorry about that, and hope you understand. I'm unclear if the link is safe though...have you or anyone else tried watching it?

I was a bit hesitant to download it myself myself to be honest but movies have been been know to leak on 4chan before.

I think just linking the thread on another forum is fine. Sorry, there's never been a situation like this before so it wasn't a rule I had in place or anything, so you're totally fine.

I just have to say that I also find it hilarious that the person right before the leak said "hey, what ever happened to that Krypto movie?" and the next response was the link to watch the full movie. That is the biggest mic drop moment ever lol.

Since Krypto Too seems about as dead as Holiday Haunt by now, this is a unique situation we find ourselves in. An illegal leak of a movie that will probably never officially see the light of day is a first for Scooby-Doo. Are you gonna review or make an article about the film, Wildwind? Would be risky, cuz it's not something legal, but there will likely never be another chance to talk about the film. A strange scenario.

I'm not really sure what to do, tbh. I'm thinking probably not, since with reviewing the Guess Who episodes early like I previously did, it legitimately aired in other countries, whereas there is no legitimate way to watch this. It sucks it has to be so complicated, since they're never going to release the film anyway, but I guess it's probably best to be safe since I know people involved with WB have visited the site before. Maybe I can give a brief review in a comment section or something. Technically it wouldn't be admitting to watching a less-than-legal upload if I said something like "My friend John told me all this stuff about the leaked Krypto movie, and I scolded and educated him about the dangers of piracy before sharing all this info with you guys!" lol. Idk, I'll have to think about how to handle it because my knowledge of if copyright would prohibit people from even talking about a leaked film is admittedly next to none. 3/4/2023 08:20:56 pm
I thought about it a bit more, and I think it is okay to post a review. Other folks in the fandom are talking about it and have even made videos they're posting on YouTube of clips from the leak, so it should be okay to talk about it. If not, I left a disclaimer on the post, and I'm more than happy to take it down should anybody at WB take issue with it.

And again I'm left out the loop. I don't even know which link it is and if it's safe, but everyone seems to be using it, right?

I meant to respond to this and we've talked about it elsewhere, but there are different links. I think a lot of people are using the original 4chan link, but there's also a few other links of the file that have been created by others like on Google Drive and Archive.org.

Yeah, it's frustrating. I hope it's able to find another distributor but unfortunately I don't hold out a lot of hope.
