Curly Neal, #22 on the Harlem Globetrotters, has died at 77 in his home according to TMZ. The cause of death has not been announced. Curly guest starred along with the other Globetrotters in three episodes of the New Scooby-Doo Movies in 1972 and 1973, including "The Ghostly Creep from the Deep," "The Mystery of Haunted Island," and my favorite Scooby episode of all time, "The Loch Ness Mess."
After 22 years on the Harlem Globetrotters, Curly was one of the only five players in Globetrotter history to have his jersey retired. He joined the team in 1963 and retired in 1985. My condolences to Curly's family, and RIP to him. We've truly lost a great man today! In addition, this only leaves four guest stars of The New Scooby-Doo Movies that are still alive today - including Dick Van Dyke, Sandy Duncan, Cher and fellow Harlem Globetrotter Geese Ausbie.

He was always my favorite member of the team during the crossover episodes. Sad to see him go.

Him and Meadowlark were definitely my favorites as well! It’s indeed very sad to see him pass.

I likes Meadowlark too, but I think Curly was really into his role 3/27/2020 11:22:29 am
Totally agree, though he didn't voice himself actually. Stu Gilliam voiced Curly.

Damn, this year just gets worse and worse. Still reeling from Kenny Rogers passing a week ago and this. The Harlem Globetrotters episodes were some of the better New Scooby Movies produced. R.I.P Curly.
