Thanks to EW, we have our first trailer for the upcoming "Daphne & Velma" live action film. Additionally, the article once again confirms May 22 as the film's release date. It's unknown why Amazon removed the date, but I think it's safe to assume that the May 22 date is still correct. The film will be released on DVD, Blu-Ray and digitally on this same date.

After viewing the trailer, I'm admittedly a bit unsure about the film. The premise sounds potentially interesting, however, the acting seems slightly off to me. The cheesy background music and the "Wassup D and V?!?" line admittedly worries me a tiny bit. I'll still give the film a chance regardless, and let's hope it will be amazing!

I think it looks like a fun little team-up film.

The lack of Scooby and the others might be felt while watching, but i've always enjoyed the very upbeat, over the top vibe of these disney/teen movies where you can just turn your brain off and have an easy to watch mini-adventure story.

Plus i'm a sucker for anything with a mysterious villain behind everything and it looks like this has exactly that. Which it obviously should have, this is a Scooby-Doo related story after all!

Admittedly I love those types of films too! I'm not really in the "Disney/teen" demographic anymore, but it's always enjoyable to relax and just watch something silly and fun. :)

It looks good for what it is - a straight to DVD film. I am admittedly surprised, I had extremely low expectations. The acting is fine, the costumes look fine, they both look and act (in some ways) like Daphne and Velma. I'm excited!

I didn't even really have any real expectations, and I'm also pleasantly surprised by the trailer. The acting seems a teensy bit off, but that's probably just because we don't have context of the various scenes shown from the actual film yet. I'm excited too! :)

Am I the only one who thinks the “D and V” line could be Fred. Yes it actually could be anyone, but since there aren’t any major male roles showcased in the trailer, I’ve gotta say that it probably is Fred.

Now that you'v put that out there, that would be a great idea. I'd love to see one of the final scenes of the film being one of the jocks revealing himself to be Fred and how they seem to have some stuff in common and should start hanging out more. Who knows, maybe he'll even know "another guy and his dog" who's also into the same type of stuff.

Aww, that would be so sweet to have as one of the final scenes. I hope they put that in there! <3

I didn’t even think of that, though now that you say it, it sounds like it could be very plausible. I was like, why is this random line in the trailer lol?
