Adobe Flash Player is being removed from all browsers, as it has become obsolete, in early 2020. What does this mean for Scooby, however?
Well, remember those Scooby-Doo Internet games? Crystal Cove Online? Creepy Castle? Did somebody say Scooby Trap? All of these use Adobe Flash Animation, meaning that they will no longer be supported once Adobe Flash Player has been removed, Cartoon Network and KidsWB have removed all flash games from their website, including every Scooby game. There are a few new games on the KidsWB site (none of them great), but I've got to say I'll really miss these Flash Animation Scooby games. The site's Internet Games and Crystal Cove Online page have been archived, but are no longer on the site's menu. They are accessible through the links above, but I didn't see a point to keeping them on the main site given they are unaccessible. So, maybe hop on the Boomerang UK website sometime this week and play your last round of Scooby Trap, stack your last Monster Sandwich, and do the 1000 meter dash through your last graveyard, because you never know when these games will be deleted!

Despite the security problems I can't help but feel this is a mistake, there are so many newgrounds games and work that will be lost to the ages because of this choice, hampering the archiving of people who did go on to do important work. Granted I'm still sad about all of machinima and gametrailers going down but c'est la vie. Just wish more were working to archive this work and make it still available.

I also feel this is a mistake, and it makes me sad that they're discontinuing every single Flash Player thing out there. I'll miss some of those Scooby games, like Scooby Trap, Creepy Castle and Crystal Cove Online most of all (among others that were deleted a while back). I wish more were archiving the actual work too, but I've definitely archived the info on this site so the history is at least still out there even if the games aren't anymore.

As a kid, my favorite Scooby games were Horror of the High Seas, Mayan Monster Mayhem and Haunts for the Holidays. I used to play these 3-4 part games from the mid 2000s a lot. I always liked how they felt like What's New episodes, except it's only Shaggy and Scooby, and they're voiced by Scott Innes. I loved both the cutscenes and the gameplay in these, even though Haunts for the Holidays was by far the hardest to beat.

I really liked these games too! I'm sad that they discontinued them (these were gone long before Flash went defunct), because they really did feel almost exactly the same tone as a What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode. Haunts for the Holidays was my favorite by far of any of those games, even though it was the hardest. I did it at one point though, but it took a long time haha!
