A First Look at Daphne & Velma

Amazon has just given us our first look at the movie's main actresses in the role of their titular characters. In addition to this good news, there's unfortunately a bit of possible bad news. Amazon has deleted the May 22 date from the listing for both the Blu-Ray and DVD. There has been no replacement date set as of currently. This, however, would explain why we still haven't seen a trailer or any other info for the film yet. Stay tuned for more updates!

I’m really excited to see this one too! I hope people will enjoy it in spite of all the negativity this film has already been recieving.

That's just the standard pathetic, clueless, crybaby internet hate 99% of everything these days gets.

Be Cool Scooby Doo got it for literally no valid reason, that Ghostbusters reboot got it for laughably dumb reasons from butthurt man-children fanboys, and now even this is somehow getting it because......it has two female lead characters??? It's all just so beyond ridiculous that it's not remotely worth paying attention to.

Yeah, that does unfortunately seem to be the way of the world these days. I wish people would actually use the Internet for meaningful discussion rather than the mindless hate that everything gets now. People were freaking out about this movie even back when we only had like a paragraph plot summary to go off of. I firmly believe it's impossible to "hate" something if you don't give it a chance first.

The reason this film is getting hate is because the directors (the Tisdale sisters) have made movies in the past that are described as "feminist." Maybe I'm just ignorant, but when did being feminist become a bad thing? Sure, there are people who take the movement to the extreme like with any other political/social movement in history. But the bad connotation feminism has received really frustrates me, especially when the literal definition of feminism is just equality of the sexes. When it comes down to it, I doubt there are many people who disagree with that simple definition of the word.

Sorry for the mini-rant there, though admittedly the hate this movie has already received is ridiculous. Everyone is entitled to their own likes and dislikes, but no one's even seen the film to be able to dislike it yet. I'm probably too optimistic for my own good here, but it's frustrating to see how immature people can be online.

Couldn't agree more with every single point you made.

Actual normal people simply having different opinions than myself doesn't remotely bother me in the slightest, my own brother usually HATES every comic book or superhero type movie I absolutely love, but at least he actually sees it first before he critiques it, and his reasons for disliking it are actual fair and valid reasons, not one time does the pathetic, eye-rolling, nonsense excuse of "FEMINISM ruined so and so!!!!!" come up, just a normal person saying "meh, wasn't for me"

But I absolutely cannot stand ridiculous, moronic hypocritical trolls who will praise their (mostly) overrated fanboy favorites no matter what and then turn around and ridiculously hate on stuff that has made them oh-so angry to the point where they all gang up to cluelessly cry about "feminist agendas" or "SJW's" or "paid reviewers" . It's all just so mind-numbingly pathetic and frustrating.

But hey, that's what doofus trolls and raging crybabies resort to when they zero actual FACTS on their side. So really, they've already lost from the get-go ; )

Sorry for my own mini-rant! Lol.

Yes! I wholeheartedly agree with all of that! We seem to think a lot alike lol.

I have no issues either with people expressing their opinions. It's only natural to do so, and the world would be a very boring place if we were mindless robots that agreed on everything. I may very well hate this film, but I'll never know until I watch it and neither will anyone else. Or at least, even if you don't want to give something a chance based on a little info, just say "Yeah, that doesn't look like something I would enjoy personally." Don't immediately get volatile and start bashing every aspect of the film, or blame it on some ridiculous excuse like feminism or agenda-pushing.

Those types of comments drive me insane as well. Just because you're on the Internet, it doesn't mean you just get to lose all your morals and maturity and start raging against something for no valid reason. I love this fandom and how respectful everyone generally is, but some of the comments I've seen about this film are just frustrating beyond belief. I even saw one comment recently in an article which read "I don't let my kids watch no damn feminist movies or ones that use the 'w-word'!" I mean, wtf? Would you ever walk up to a woman in real-life and say you don't "use the w-word?" Ugh!

Yeah, in the end that's what you have to remember. None of those people's comments are worth your time, and in the end, keeping an open mind is what matters.

I would apologize for my second mini-rant, but you know us crazy feminists always trying to push our agendas! ;)

LOL summed up perfectly yet again.

It's both sad and annoying that basic common sense and simple respect are a minority concept on the internet, but then again it helps to remember that the internet "majority" of whiny crybabies and trolls are a vocal minority OVERALL to everyone actually put there in the world. So maybe there actually is hope for the majority of future generations to not be as dumb as rocks/vile and pathetic as an angry child who don't get their way. Well....maybe!

Very good point and it’s good to remember that even in all the frustration of the Internet and social media.

Thanks for putting up with my rants and me going all feminist on the situation lol.
