For today's question, I only included all the soundtracks that were officially released, not every single Scooby DTV to ever have a song. Also, speaking of soundtracks, given people's recent worry about Velma possibly having inappropriate raunchy content, why does no one ever talk about the fact that the SCOOB! soundtrack actually has a song on it where Jack Harlow raps about drunk driving the Mystery Machine? Like how did that even make the final cut for a soundtrack on a kids' film? lol
Here are the results from last week's poll: What is your favorite Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt crossover? Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon - 25 SCOOB! - 21 Everybody Hyde! - 21 Scooby-Doo, Dog Wonder - 18 Heart of Evil - 6 What Now, Lowbrow? - 1 The Wizard of Ooze - 1

While I do have the soundtrack disc for Scooby Doo (2002) and enjoy it, I chose Snack Tracks because I just enjoy the classic chase music just a bit more, I should see if I can find Snack Tracks for purchase.

Snack Tracks was definitely one of my favorite soundtracks as well for including such a wide range of songs from all the Scooby series (at the time).

Zombie Island had two songs, both of which are included on Witch's Ghost although sung by a different artist I believe.

It is weird they never made a soundtrack for Zombie Island when Witch's Ghost got one. The two Zombie Island songs were sung by Gary Falcone and Joe Pizzulo on the Witch's Ghost soundtrack.

Ok, point, but the different artist you keep mentioning means, to me, it was never released and if you have to comment it like 5 times I'd say people still want the originals.

Snack Tracks without a doubt. Zombie Island's would possibly be up there as well if there was one because even going back on the big two songs, that background music is so, so good. Alien invaders and Camp Scare are also up top for me

I went for Witch's Ghost, but I did like a lot of those. I can see the "problem" with having drugs and alcohol references in a kids movie soundtrack, but I didn't mind it too much because it's the music I often listen to - rap, hip hop, it's just the vibe, I'm not supporting that lifestyle XD

Oh no, I'm not super offended by it either. It's just odd because they mark the soundtrack as "kids genre" on digital platforms, and singing about doing hard drugs while you're driving isn't exactly something I'd say is for kids... but it's fine. I was more being silly than anything with my comment.

It's between Snack Tracks, Witch's Ghost and Alien Invaders. I'm going with Alien Invaders.

Zombie Island's two songs were included on the Witch's Ghost CD, just different artist singing them.

It's interesting that Zombie Island never got anything officially released. I know Zombie Island only had 2 songs, but Alien Invaders and Witch's Ghost didn't have that many either, and there were some songs added to the soundtrack that weren't in the film, so I'm not sure why they didn't do that with Zombie Island.

Witch's ghost for me, the hex girls songs are awesome and you get added bonus of Terror Time from Zombie Island.

Long rant over, back to listening to my rare Scooby Doo soundtrack CDs.

we get it, I'm sorry, none of the rest are vote worthy to me? As you said, different artists, therefore not the same songs, so I didn't vote, I'm just astounded the ones they did release soundtracks for vs the ones they did not, you can stop yelling at us for our preferences now.

I apologise for repeating myself like 5 times and I agree the Zombie Island originals are better. Its equally frustrating hearing people constantly repeat "why didn't we get a Zombie Island Soundtrack?" without thinking or suggesting a reason. To me it could possibly be because Zombie Island was the first movie, designed to see if Scooby could be popular with kids in more modern times, as such they weren't likely to push the boat on any merchandise. It could also be because Snack Tracks released at the same time, so they didn't want 2 Scooby soundtracks out at the same time.

And on the individual comments, I was trying to be kind and answer their question. Some people might not search through lots of comments to find answers but might have their posts linked to email or something

That is fair, sorry if I got a bit heated over it, I think I'm mostly surprised when they did Witch's Ghost and included them they didn't try to do the originals or get the 'bands' whom did those to return, and honestly would like to know that story. Beyond that, I will say that in tv music is an underappreciated genre and a lot of the scooby songs might be simple but I would love to have most on cd/mp3 6/30/2021 09:11:42 am
It makes me wonder if somehow they didn't think they could create a soundtrack for Zombie Island because there were only two songs, but then later with Witch's Ghost, they had the idea to create additional songs to create a soundtrack. I'd also love the know the story of why they got different people singing the Zombie Island songs too.

I know house bands are a thing, but know they also used real... and kind of small bands for the songs in What's New SD, so my thoughts are it was either a house band who left on bad terms, or because it was a house band they didn't think it was worth contacting them. Or it could be a real band that err... disbanded (holds up lonely only cd from Cauterize that was used in 1080 avalanche soundtrack) All sorts of things happen but indeed I am curious which. 7/1/2021 01:06:29 pm
That's a great point, Scooby has always leaned towards house bands (at least in WNSD/BCSD) so both of those options are definitely a possibility. Leave a Reply. |
