Although they weren't technically theaters, I did include TV stations where a stage was a main part of the plot in case anybody wants to vote for them.
The final results are in for our Be Cool Daphne quirk polls, and puppets win by a large margin! Puppets ended up getting 63 votes, and mime ended up getting 15 votes. Thanks again to Greybishop for suggesting this poll series idea!

A fair few here, I'll go Happy Birthday Scooby Doo, always gave of creepy vibes but somehow also managed to add a bit of light-hearted humour with Scooby's birthday shenanigans.

I love that one too and was close to voting for it, but I ended up going with "Theater of Doom."

What a roster this is, a lot of varying quality from top to bottom. Some of these are really good, SDMI stands out with 2 great ones. Backstage Rage is an undisputed classic, one of the creepiest episodes, almost voted for this one. Country Music Hall is a classic for a different reason: peak Sassy Fred lol. Happy Birthday Scooby-Doo gets my vote, it's the best Scrappy era episode and one of the best episodes ever. In fact, take those 8 22-minute episodes from '83-'84, put them together, and you get one of the best Scooby-Doo seasons ever. They should've done more of thsoe instead of 11-minute eps.

Completely agreed, I would have loved to have gotten a full series of those full-length episodes from 1983/1984!

I think the 11 minute episodes definitely had their place in the series. I would've liked a few more 22 minute episodes, while still having those 11 minute episodes because I do think the 22 minute episodes work even better as special episodes rather than being the entire series, but I agree with you that I wish we got more of them

This is one I didn't love as a kid, but I grew to appreciate it when I was older. The setting is so cool here and creates such a dark, sinister tone. The Puppet Master was an excellent villain, and that scene you mentioned with Shaggy and Scooby is easily one of the creepiest parts of the episode. I would say the creepiest part for me was him chasing the gang shouting "You know my secret!" Great episode that I have really grown to appreciate more and more over time.

Typical Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo short with the magician getting mad at the guys for ruining his magic act.

I'm guessing this is a review of "Backstage Scooby"? If so, then, yeah, I agree with you.

This was an excellent Be Cool episode! I really liked the villain, and agree it was a super original idea. Yeah, Fred dressing up as a magician was pretty funny! Shaggy's rant about the monster always chasing them was also really funny haha. I really liked the explanation for the mystery too! It was definitely one of the most intricate plans of the series. I was also amused by them doing the magic tricks when the cops were trying to take them away lol.

This was a good episode! Crazy Karl is arguably one of the creepiest villains of this series, and the motel scene may very well be the creepiest scene of the series. I also liked the addition of the old woman and her son. I liked Jeff and Darcie as guest stars as well. Yeah, I agree the running gag here got old pretty fast.

This episode also had some horror movie elements in it. Crazy Karl is obviously based off the Child’s Play movies you know with Chucky the evil puppet. He can also be based off Slappy the Evil Puppet from Goosebumps. The scene of the motel where the old women was watching the gang through the window is from the movie Psycho.

It was nice seeing Simone again in this episode. Anyone else notice that her clown puppet looks just like the Ghost Clown from Bedlam in the Big Top?

While I found it very difficult to make rankings the past three weeks (well i guess besides last week where it was number one number 2 lol), I am back to making a ranking. Still haven't seen Bat-mite presents so it won't be ranked

I rewatched the Scrappy shorts this morning so I could do rankings, as I don't really return to those much and it's probably been close to a decade since I've seen them, tbh. I'm glad I rewatched them, as it actually changed the order I would have ranked them in.

3. I'd say that's more Distressed Fred than Sassy Fred. This and the shot of his eyes going huge panic mode are gold.

You should watch Bat-Mite Presents, it's pure camp in a good way, heavily inspired by the NSDMo Batman and Robin eps

I would definitely second the recommendation to watch Bat-Mite Presents, it's amazing how well they're able to capture the tone that feels reminiscent of The New Scooby-Doo Movies.

I watched it and I enjoyed it. It’d probably be about number 12. My only complaint is that throwing punches and attacking is NOT the Gentlemanly Batman that I know and love! They should have never put that in, it completely undermines the gentlemanliness LOL

Also Fred wasn’t sassy enough. “As I said, no one in their right mind!” anyone? Lol 1/29/2024 08:19:35 pm
Good to hear you enjoyed it! I agree the episode was lacking in Gentlemanly Batman and Sassy Fred, even if it is really solid in every other aspect imo lol.

I don't know man, I think Batman threw some punches or got in physical fights in NSDMo too, unless I'm misremembering. I know for sure Robin ain't got a problem with doing so, cuz he almost killed Fred when he thought he was the hooded man by hurling himself and Fred out of the crane cab lol.

Robin is still young, so I don't hold him to the same Gentlemanly standard as I do Batman. He's still learning lol

A Fright at the Opera for me! Horror Scope Scoob and Backstage Rage would be my runner ups, in that order.

The backstage rage easily for me cause it is one of the creepiest episodes (at least from the early scooby years)
