Thanks to Shadowscooby for coming up with this poll idea! To keep the options in the poll at a manageable level, I decided not to include every single episode of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated that featured a brief scene of the gang in school. I kept it to only episodes where a school or university was a main part of the plot.
It's been a long time coming, given we've been doing the sports polls since February, and this poll should have been done in May, so I'm really excited to share the results of the Winner's Circle poll! It's not the same results as last time, but the result is quite surprising. Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery takes the title of favorite sports episode with 17 votes! The previous winner, "A Terrifying Round with a Menacing Metallic Clown" takes second place with 10 votes. Close behind in third place is "The Spooky Case of the Grand Prix Race" with 8 votes! "The Mystery of Haunted Island" and "The Unnatural" tied for fourth place with six votes each, while "Diamonds Are a Ghoul's Best Friend" took fifth place with five votes. "The Loch Ness Mess" and "The Ghost that Sacked the Quarterback" tied for last place with four votes. One person says "All of these episodes are awful, all sports are awful, everything's just awful!" lol. This is bit of a random comment, but I'm unsure if people prefer me revealing the votes in list format or if you like me doing it with the commentary. If anyone has any opinion what they prefer, feel free to let me know in the comments!

I'll take the L and vote for Spirit Spooked Sports Show despite knowing that Ghoul School and Cyber Chase are gonna smash everything else out of the water. Cyber Chase would've been my second choice tbf, followed (maybe) by Mystery 101, I thought that was a brilliant example of how to nail a pilot episode and everything that the show is about.

A long list to review again, but here we go! I'm not going to rank "Escape from Mystery Manor" as I don't really consider it to be a school episode personally.

I hadn't considered it before since it doesn't feel like a university setting to me, but I'd say it counts! I just added it. Thanks!

About the aforementioned missing options, it depends on if you count universities as school themed episodes/movies, some might see it as a bit of a stretch. No debate about the high school ones though. And to make it clear before some get added, my choice would still be The Spirit Spooked Sports Show no matter what (whole top 3 unchanged in fact).

I hadn't considered a lot of the missing ones to be school episodes, but I added all of them, including the university ones since I had some in there already (Cyber Chase and Mystery 101).

Definitely Ghoul School, I would've chose Cyber Chase, but it took more place in cyber space than in the university in my opinion, still a great movie though.

For clarity on number 9, I started off thinking it was super lame in a hilarious way the first time I saw it. I mean, they SOMEHOW managed to make a clown not scary AT ALL. The only action he takes that could be seen as threatening towards any of the gang is just chasing them. And I think they just threw the words “mirror” and “illusion” in there to explain what happened to the teacher without explaining clearly how it worked. Overall, on an objective scale, it should be really bad. But I don’t know. The more I watched it the more it’s silliness became charming to me. Really works as one of those super silly episodes of that era of Scrappy (Specifically, TNSASDS and NSDMy) that I just eat up 9/12/2022 10:01:26 pm
Lol I totally agree with you. I feel like it would have been a lot better if the clown at least wore full body makeup, otherwise it just looks like a normal guy in a clown suit with face makeup lol.

Yeah, Crazy Carnival Caper really did feel like a TNSASDS version of a Scrappy short. And it's more entertaining than a Scrappy short at least. 9/13/2022 11:50:07 am
I think maybe the Scrappy short-ishness of it (don't think that's a word, but I'm going with it haha) is what made me dislike it, tbh. I wasn't a big fan of most of those comedy romp shorts, and this felt quite a bit like that, especially with the villain.

This was a fun episode! Having a computer be the villain was unique, and I was happy that we got to know Velma a bit better in this episode. Yeah, the opening was creepy. I also found it funny that Fred kept forgetting it was Velma just because she was in disguise haha. The villain trap was definitely one of the most interesting of the series. I agree the culprit was very easy to guess. The ending was super cute. I liked the unintentional pun in your post "Making him DOO various tasks" because his name's Scooby-Doo haha.

The picture used for this poll got me thinking: "Wait, has there been a poll about the ghoul school girls?", I couldn't remember, it'd been so long. I went and checked and yeah, poll #18. It feels like such a forgotten one though for some reason, barely any conversation in the comments and I don't know why. So I wondered what you think about the idea of redoing certain polls after a long time (2 years in this case) that didn't get as much traction the first time? I'm sure there'd be a lot more to say and expand upon at least about that poll in particular from different people by now (me included, no idea why I didn't comment on that one back then, not even sure who I voted for lol). On top of a favorite ghoul school girl poll 2.0, there's other Ghoul School poll ideas like favorite cadet or monster or supporting character.

I'm certainly open to redoing polls! I also like your ideas of favorite monster/supporting character? I'll have to think about the cadet one. I like the idea, but I feel like it might turn out similarly to the Hex Girl poll, where people have a hard time picking an option because the characters aren't developed as well.

I don't feel like there would be a hard #1 for the cadets. They get a similar amount of screentime and lines, unlike the Hex Girls which it might as well be The Thorn Show. 9/13/2022 11:50:43 am
Very true on the Hex Girls. I'm definitely open to doing a cadet poll. Thanks for suggesting it!

Yeah, I thought it was a really cool touch that they brought in Harlan Ellison (it was cool he appeared again in "Come Undone," too). I love how they had a parody of Lovecraft in this episode. It definitely made for a very unique episode! Yeah, seeing the gang broken up was really sad, but it was nice to see them get back together at the end!

I love this episode! It was cool that they devoted an entire episode to having Scooby crossover with all the Scooby clones. Infernicus was an amazing villain. Him being used in a darker episode would have been really cool. I liked seeing Principal Quinlan's character development and how she became braver when the situation required it. The chairman looking like the Funky Phantom was amusing. I was surprised that The Funky Phantom was the culprit in Scooby's dream.

This was a super dark episode with a really creepy villain. It was really spooky that Danny thought that the gang was the original Mystery Incorporated. The parody of Saw with the traps was neat. The ending where the house went underground again was really surprising. I was surprised when I first saw the episode that Mayor Jones was spying on the gang.

This episode was an awesome homage to Star Wars. Mark Hamill really made this episode as amazing as it is for me. He fit so well with the gang that it felt like he could have been a sixth member of the gang. Ironically, this episode reminds me of the Tim Conway episode more than Whoopi's episode. Something about his interactions for Shaggy and Scooby felt very much like the Tim Conway episode to me. Shaggy having pictures of him and that check were super funny. The Wonder Woman and Joker references were cool! I liked the Fox Monster. The big eyes are what made him so creepy for me, but I've always found big eyed monsters more creepy. I liked the sword-fighting scene for how similar it felt to Star Wars. I loved the ending too. It was super cute!

Mark Hamill interacted a lot with Shaggy and Scooby. Tim Conway had jokes and mannerisms. Mark Hamill had jokes and mannerisms. Tim Conway, Shaggy and Scooby were hiding in a trash can from the Spirit of Fireball Mcphan. Mark Hamill, Shaggy and Scooby were hiding in a trash can from the Fox Monster.
