Nice rankings! I'm a little surprised to see the Centaur in your awful rankings, as I didn't mind it. I was also surprised to the see the Leland Ghosts and Toxic Terror in your "meh" category. I like your "off the scale diabolical" tier haha.

With the centaur I was just like no, I've had enough of Greek mythological creatures, meh category, Leland brothers just didn't feel had anything special about them. As for the toxic terror, never really liked that episode 4/25/2022 04:15:10 pm
Fair enough. Interesting you disliked "Camp Comeoniwannascareya." Was it just because Fred, Velma and Daphne weren't in it?

I’ll speak for myself, but that honestly does play a part of why I personally dislike that episode as well. I feel like the gang dynamic is a key to the series in this incarnation 4/26/2022 09:36:39 am
I remember that you don't like "Camp Comeoniwannascareya." I agree Camp Scare is definitely better, but I guess I enjoyed the episode for its uniqueness even if the characters could have been developed better. Not my favorite What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode, but I don't mind it.

Having watched it again I don't think it is as bad as I remembered and still better than a lot of modern episodes but I think I have to agree that missing Fred, Daphne and Velma is a huge blow. I agree with you it's definitely not one of the best WNSD episodes, but I enjoy it for what it is. And thank you! I'll have to use that as an upcoming fun fact :)

Wildwind, those averages are so incredibly close. Speaks a lot to the consistency of What's New. Just like with The Scooby-Doo Show, I'm stumped by this poll. I feel like each of the WNSD seasons is deserving of the win. I guess I'll go with season 2, if anything purely for the Invisible Madman and SHARI. 4/24/2022 06:41:54 pm
I honestly had no idea what I was picking before I did the averages, because all of these WNSD seasons are so incredibly consistent. It's a nice step up from most of the previous series, including the early ones and Pup, where you'd get an amazing villain in one episode and then a completely awful one in the next. I'll be very interested to see the results for this one.

COME ON, the Pup episode AT LEAST deserved more than the none of the above option. I also would’ve much rather seen the What’s New episode win than Wrestlemania but oh well 4/24/2022 06:43:39 pm
I was kind of shocked to see the Pup episode come in dead last, even below the silly "everything's awful" option lol. The WrestleMania film winning surprised me a bit, though I think the only one I would have been frustrated to see win would have been Curse of the Speed Demon.

I’m not surprised Wrestlemania won, but it definitely did not do much for me personally. I’ve never actually seen Curse of the Speed Demon, but I would probably be baffled if that won. The positive reactions I have seen have been very… limited on that one 4/26/2022 09:38:24 am
I was more surprised because everybody was picking the WNSD episode in the comments and I hadn't looked at the results until tallying them up, so I was a bit surprised to see so many for that movie haha. Curse of the Speed Demon isn't horrible, but it's not great either. Having the wrestlers compete in a race was always an odd premise to me. If you didn't like the first movie, I can't imagine you'll like this one any better.

I like that you made the bad ones a negative number! I'll have to try that one with the next poll. I completely agree that this was the best mummy they've ever done. I didn't think about including the Worm People or the Zombie Tourists. If I would have included them, the Worm People would have gone in "meh" while the Zombie Tourists would have gone in the great category. Our lists were really similar, although I didn't really care for the Jungle Animals. They just felt like kind of boring villains to me. I didn't put the Zombies from season 3 in bad since I was kind of indifferent to them. They showed up for a few seconds and that was it. I kind of liked how unique the 30 Foot Shaggy was, although I know a lot of people don't like him.

Yeah, the Zombie Tourists are amazing! I'd never thought of the jungle animals as being similar to Zombie Island, but you're right! I can see the appeal of them. Agreed about the other zombies haha. Leave a Reply. |
