Thanks to the Amazon France listing for Scooby-Doo! Return to Zombie Island, we now have an official summary of the film. Translating the French description into English, here is what the summary says:
Seeking to leave their investigative career behind them, the Scooby-Doo team leaves for an all-expense paid trip on a mysterious - but strangely familiar - tropical island. Their journey will however take a new turn as soon as they meet the zombies that populate the island. I'm a bit disappointed they're playing the "leave their career behind them" card again from Curse of the 13th Ghost, but nonetheless, it sounds somewhat interesting given how short the description was. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. What are your thoughts on the summary for this film? Let me know in the comments!

The last movie ended on them going back to mysteries (despite being required by law to retire) now they are doing that “leave their careers” bullshit again? I need a trailer and I need it soon

I don't get why they're just redoing the same storyline either. It's indeed pretty frustrating, but I hope the movie will be good regardless.

Are you gonna post the storyboards someone leaked? 7/1/2019 10:26:30 am
I actually wasn't, just because I don't really know where they came from. They're probably legitimate, but given we have no idea how they were found, for all we know it could just be some random person who faked them. But yeah, I'm still conflicted on that. I don't want to give anybody misinformation.

I'm pretty sure the SDMI episode pictured is "Art of Darkness!".

Mmmmm, first the " let´s make another guest star series" and now this, it´s kinda sad how they´re running out of ideas.

I take it less as they're running out of ideas and more they're revisiting them. Guess Who is a great idea as we have a whole new set of people who'd adore being on the show who never got to and people the current generation may have heard of. I see Return to Zombie Island and the 13th Ghost movie as kind of celebrating the history of scooby doo, the original Zombie Island did revive the series.

I just meant agreed in terms of it copying Curse of the 13th Ghost again, not the Guess Who part. But yeah, I definitely see your point and I'm not discounting the movie yet. I really hope it will be a good film and I'm going in open-minded.

I was mostly commenting to the original point than yours honestly, I dislike that they're doing the same thing again, and have massive worries about going back to Zombie Island myself. Honestly the thing that was bothering me was the idea that Scooby is in a rut which I just don't believe; each series lately has been wildly inventive and fun, the direct to dvd movies are probably a little samey but even then there's bursts of inspired, loved scooby meeting up with Batman BatB, and despite not knowing or caring who Bobby Flay is, I liked Gourmet Ghost (Though I do kind of wish they had gone with the idea that his ancestor was a traitor and put a message of, family doesn't define us or something, but I do get it's a kid show) 7/1/2019 04:03:22 pm
Ah gotcha. I'm not sure the show's really in a "rut" so to speak, we've just had a lot of repetition of concepts like the guest star thing. Guess Who has shown us that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Surprised no one has mentioned the obvious here. At the end of Zombie Island the spirits were released from the curse. Thus if this is the same island, where have the zombies come from? Secondly, it states tropical island, I'm not sure I class the first island as that either. all the same this summary has me a little worried.

That's very true about the zombie curse! My only thought was that the curse returned when the cat creatures returned, however that happens in the film. I'm honestly not sure though.

Tropical island makes me a little nervous as well. This seems like too radical of a change to me, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I wish they would think up a different excuse as well instead of the repeated same explanation. It's getting a bit old at this point.

Of hand, I think they would see a brochure or something that shows a tropical island but when they get there they find out it’s moonscar island have them get tricked into going there again. 7/8/2019 03:32:00 pm
I could see that happening. I wouldn't mind that explanation actually. Hopefully they end up doing something like that.
