On Twitter, one of the writers for Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Pups, Roger Eschbacher, has posted a piece of news on the series. Roger shared that the writing for the full show is about finished. He also mentions that the writing process for the show took about a year to complete Presumably, this means the series will probably only be a season or two. Here's Roger's full tweet:
The writing on "Scooby-Doo! and the Mystery Pups" is winding down, and I'm looking for a new gig. This is how it works for actors and freelance writers. No complaints--super fun show, awesome colleagues, almost a full year of work. This is the way. So...who's hiring?

I am strangely more interested in this then Velma , I could see this being a 2 season series , and then for scooby doo , I would’ve ant the old formula back but done in a cool way.

5 ideas for future Scooby shows would make for a neat article ngl. It's timely with Velma's conclusion and all.

@Thomas I'm definitely more interested in this than Velma, since I wasn't really a big fan of that series. I could see this being two seasons as one.

I do hope that this isn’t like so preschool that it doesn’t make for an enjoyable watch for an adult. I’d be pleased with something like A Pup Named Scooby Doo where it is clearly intended for a younger audience but is enjoyable for all ages

That's my only concern as well. I hope it's not so kiddy that us adult Scooby fans feel talked down to. Following something similar to Pup would be great!

truthfully i wish this show wasn't happen not after velma, as a Young adult i would like not to have two extremely opposite version of the same character when i prefer a more inbetween version this one is for 7 and under while velma was 17+. At least this might get next generation interested in scooby doo so that's at least a positive.

I'm hoping it gets the next generation interested too. That seems like it was likely WB-Discovery's mindset about creating this show right on the heels of Velma; both to create a show to prove Scooby is still for a younger audience, and to get the next generation interested in the franchise.

I personally hope that the show is very preschool because it is intended for a preschool audience. Any entertainment I should get from this or the upcoming Tom and Jerry Time as an adult should stem from the setup or a timeless quality. It's how the characters end up in the educational situation that matters, not the demographic it is aiming toward.

I didn't realize they were creating a preschool series for Tom and Jerry as well. Seems like WB-Discovery is definitely trying to double-down on getting the next generation interested in their most famous animated properties.

If I was to guess, I'd say it will likely be at the same level as Bugs Bunny builders.

The fact that Roger is a part of it assures me. At least this show will have someone to provide guidance on how to write the characters properly, unlike with Velma.
