"The Vampire Strikes Back" from What's New, Scooby-Doo? had a special WB Halloween "Unsolved Mystery" promotion attached to the episode. As the episode aired on October 18, 2003, viewers were asked to go on KidsWB's website to guess the culprit. Anyone who correctly guessed would be entered in a sweepstakes to win a free copy of Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights for X-Box. Six winners were chosen, five of them winning a copy of the game. The remaining winner was given the grand prize, which was a copy of the game and a free X-Box.
I am not clear whether or not the villain was revealed the same day, or if they didn't air the ending of the episode until the next week when the winner was revealed on October 25, 2003. The press release for this special promotion from 2003 can be found here.

I actually remember when this episode first aired! They did not reveal who the culprit was until the following week, when they showed the last scene from “Vampire” right before the new episode began. Also, when “Vampire” aired for the first time, when they cut it off right before the reveal, they added in a line of Daphne screaming “It can’t be YOU!!!”… which seemed a little silly since the culprit’s identity was pretty obvious in this one!

That's so cool! It's weird to think of them showing the last three minutes of the episode to amp up the drama of who the culprit was, but honestly that's a really cool promotion!

I think I heard this on the channel nerdsync but they said that for the entire third season of wnsd kids wb aired the new episode up until the monster was caught and then the next week they would show the reveal and the first part of the next episode. People were told to vote on the culprit just like this but there were no prizes.

Oh wow, that's kind of a strange format to air the episodes in.

I think they did this for multiple episode that year.

That’s so interesting, I had no idea they aired them that way. It’s a bit odd to air them in pieces like that, but it also sounds like a great way to hype up the episodes and keep people watching, especially if they showed most of a new episode after revealing the culprit for the prior week’s episode.

So did the winners guess only Steve Fortescu or the twist of there being twins?

I wonder if anyone has a copy of the truncated ep - especially with an additional line.
