Huh, weird. I remember that was one of the highest, so strange that I left it out of the post. 7 people voted for Mystery Mayhem. I corrected the post now. Thanks for letting me know!

I chose Scooby Doo Team Up, because they were crossovers. I particularly like the one's where they teamed up with Hanna Barbera characters. Still waiting on a Hanna Barbera crossover movie!

I really like those too! My only issue with it was the overuse of stock art.

I'm glad I was the only one who didn't like the stock art! Lol 1/31/2021 06:29:53 pm
Haha yeah, it's always bugged me that they use so much stock art in the recent comics (both this series and the current Where Are You comics). I'm hoping the upcoming Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries series will be different.

That one personally had too much stock art for me, but I can see why people would like it. I personally would pick Scooby Apocalypse just because how unique the premise of the series is.

Has to be the original ones for the ads, nazi ghosts and satanic cults.

Haha yes! Those are super unique for the weird ads and villains. I haven't read any of them though, so those weren't really in the running for me.

I’ve personally never read any Scooby comics but this description alone makes that one my choice

Dear Lord your missing a treat. There were ads for questionable fake tattoos, guns (for kids of course), money laundering, adult phone hotlines and more. 2/1/2021 08:42:30 am
Sounds like a lovely thing to advertise in a children's comic lol.

Never thought I'd hear nazi ghosts in a Scooby property lmao

Becker, I was more concerned about the Satanic cult that kidnapped and were actually trying to kill Shaggy and Scooby in a Satanic ritual.

WAIT WHAT, that was an actual comic!? Satanists killing Scooby and Shaggy, holy f! How did this get made?

Yeah, I definitely did not dream that, but for the life of me can't find it, think it was this one, https://scoobydoo.fandom.com/wiki/Witches%27_Night_Out

I thought there was a fun fact about it, but looking back, it was about the birth signs. I do remember you telling me about it though, Samuel. It's pretty crazy that they were able to get away with something that dark, but I suppose censorship was more relaxed back in the 70s than it is now.

That is hilarious and now I want to read some of them

The late 90s early 00 for me, I used to pick it up at stores, read a bit of the team ups and the current stories, the art hasn't bothered me but the writing doesn't seem great...

I voted for Scooby Apocalypse, because that one had its own unique spin on the franchise, and I honestly would love to see an animated version of it.

I guess some people never heard of it or never had these Scholastic PC games, and I have Showdown in Ghost town and Jinx at the Sphinx

I think a lot of people don't know those games as Drakosleuth said. I've personally never played them before.

You can find videos of full gameplays of the PC CD-ROM games on Youtube or maybe find them on amazon or ebay. I plan on buying Phantom of the Knight, Glowing Bug Man, Scary Stone Dragon, and Frights, Camera, Mystery when I have saved enough money, but until then, I'll enjoy watching videos of them.

Scooby Apocalypse, although the quality kinda dropped around halfway through. The first few issues, especially the ones with Porter's art, were incredible. I would love to see it animated, either as a series or as a movie.

I agree there was a tiny dip in quality mid-way through, but it was still an amazing series IMO.

It was a cool concept that they managed to make unappealing to me, it's not an execution I gelled with. The gang, the romance, the plots, the tone, they did not resonate with me. I guess SDMI would be the closest comparison, but I DO like SDMI overall, cuz SDMI has good plots and atmosphere and some good characterizations.

Makes sense. I totally get that the darker, grittier tone and romance stuff isn't for everyone.

Dark/gritty tone isn't a problem. I loved the tone of SDMI like I alluded to, it's one of the best things about that show. And The Scooby-Doo Project is my favorite special. Zombie Island's fantastic too. 2/2/2021 03:59:27 pm
Oh gotcha, thanks for clarifying. Yeah, the darker tone of Scooby Apocalypse is definitely different from how SDMI and Zombie Island was, but I personally didn't mind it overly much.

I have never read and Scooby doo books before. However, I remember when I was in elementary school I saw them in those scholastic papers. On Scoobypedia, I look up all the monsters from those books as well as the comic books and all of them are pretty good. Some are original while others are reused from some shows. I have been able to watch someone read these books on YouTube and I follow along.

I haven't read a ton of Scooby books either. I grew up with the Gelsey books, and I've also read the Daphne and Velma novels.

I just looked at the poll results, and kind of an interesting update...currently Where Are You (2010), Team Up, and Apocalypse are tied for first place this week. If anyone feels super strongly about one of those series and hasn't voted yet, be sure to do so before Sunday!
