A lot of underwhelming options here. I narrowed it down to Hound of the Scoobyvilles and Howl of the Fright Hound. I was originally thinking of going with the former, but the more I thought about it the more I appreciate Howl of the Fright Hound, so I went with the latter.

Yeah, I'll change my vote to A Scooby-Doo Valentine now lol. None of the others are standouts of their shows. This one is, even though it doesn't come to mind for the theme.

"A Scooby-Doo Valentine" would have for sure been in my top 3 if I was ranking based on quality of the episode rather than theme; definitely agreed that it's a standout of the series.

Were-Doo of Doo Manor, I’ve loved loved Nasty Doo as a villain.

I also voted for this one, Nasty-Doo is easily one of the best villains of the series imo.

Haven't seen Zoinks the Wonder Dog so I'll go with the other 15 here. Not the strongest set but there is some quality to be found here nonetheless and there isn't a lot of absolutely terrible imo like last week (which actually made for a really interesting comment section set of discussions last week, loved it)

16. Scooby's Swiss Miss - one of the absolute worst of the Scrappy shorts.

I also rewatched Hound of the Scoobyvilles to make sure what episode I vote for, and after watching it I came to the realization that the biggest issue with the 1983 show is the framing of the shots. They're often too zoomed in or too zoomed out or showing too little of the bottom or the top. I couldn't help but get distracted a bit every time, poor job from the editor quite frankly. 3/10/2024 03:47:38 pm
I would add "A Scooby-Doo Valentine" at #8, between "The Warlock of Wimbledon" and "Zoinks the Wonder Dog." Quality-wise I'd put it higher but it doesn't really come to mind for the theme.

3. I really need to watch the entire Dynomutt series sometime. Especially season 2 from what it sounds like 3/10/2024 04:13:01 pm
3. It's a really solid series, I'd definitely recommend watching it. Season 2 is fun because the tone of the episodes is a bit darker in the same vein as The Scooby-Doo Show season 2, especially "The Glob" and "Shadowman." It's a short season though, only four episodes. They're also pretty hard to find as they aren't released on DVD or on streaming.

I will have to move everything down and insert A Scooby Doo Valentine as number one here. Absolutely a top 3 or 4 What’s New episode for me, and it definitely counts as a dog villain episode

12. I agree about "A Scary Duel with a Cartoon Ghoul" being a bit underwhelming. It's one of my least faves of The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries personally.

Howl of the Frighthound, truly terrifying. Probably go Hound of the Scoobyvilles second and were doo third.

You're right about "A Scooby-Doo Valentine." "What the Hex Going On?" wouldn't qualify since he only appears in one brief scene.

Yeah, What the Hex falls into that grey area for sure but

Scooby Doo Valentine wouldn't make it top 3 for me because it's really just an evil Scooby.

This was a good episode! I really liked the settings and atmosphere of this episode as well. Yeah, the hound was a great villain, and I also thought the guy's hand with the ring was creepy.

This was a really fun episode and a highlight of season 2 imo. I still remember watching this one when it first aired. It was neat to learn Shaggy and Scooby's backstory here, and the plot of Shaggy's old dog and Scooby's old owner coming back and tearing them apart was very unique.
