It appears the Behind the Scoobs account is becoming the account to watch for Scooby concept art, as they've just posted another piece of news from a scrapped project. Their most recent post reveals that the villain in Scooby-Doo and the Haunted High Rise would have been Johnny B. Warlock, as well as an image of the villain's design and bike. The post also reveals that the film was in production in 2021, confirming that it likely would have come out in 2023 had it been able to release.

That's a really cool looking villain. Shame we'll never actually see it.

Is there any possibility that Haunted High Rise will get leaked online like Krypto Too?

I think it's possible. Honestly, I kind of wonder if that Behind the Scoobs account that's been posting these is somebody that works at WB that's secretly leaking stuff. The fact that they've given us so much stuff in the past two weeks from multiple different unreleased projects seems like it could be somebody who either currently or used to work at WB, otherwise I'm not sure how they'd be getting access to all of these character designs and storyboard animatics. I could be wrong though.

No, because Haunted High Rise was never actually produced. You can't leak an animated film if there's literally no animation to leak. They scrapped the project when still in the storyboarding phase.

Lol I don't know why I forgot about it not being animated yet.

Honestly? I'd rather break the streak and have an entire year without a Scooby movie so they can re-think their ideas and come out with something strong and that is really good and memorable in the future.

The Oakhaven setting was appealing to me, and it would have been cool to see The Hex Girls again! I would have been disappointed if it was just another Guess Who style film though, so if that was going to be the case, I'm okay with not getting the film.

I don't mean another Zombie Island, although yeah something like that would be amazing. I mean something like Abracadabra-Doo. When it came out it felt like a reinassance of the franchise, just something new and fresh. 1/13/2024 02:36:03 pm
Yeah, I think it would be very hard to recapture the magic of something like Zombie Island, but it would be amazing if something like that can happen again. I'd be totally down to get something else like Abracadabra Doo to reboot things. As I've mentioned in a couple other comment threads, I think the mindset of the writers' room also needs to change in order for that to happen. If they continue to play it super safe like they have been, I think it's going to be hard for them to make anything that really stands out. Leave a Reply. |
