Almost 15 years after the original The Best of the New Scooby-Doo Movies DVD set was released, WB has finally acquired the rights to release eight of the nine episodes that were originally missing from the set due to copyright issues.
On June 4, 2019, The New Scooby-Doo Movies: The (Almost) Complete Collection will be released in stores, featuring all episodes of the series except "Wednesday is Missing" featuring the Addams Family, presumably due to continued contract negotiation issues. Here's the episode listing, thanks to AnimationMagazine.net:
Additionally, another set entitled "The New Scooby-Doo Movies: The Lost Episodes," featuring only the eight missing episodes will be released on that same day. Here's the episode listing for that set:
Last but not least, WB has also announced that they will release a Best of Warner Bros. 50 Cartoon Collection – Scooby-Doo DVD on July 30, 2019. Nothing else is known about the set at this time, except "a collection of the best episodes from every Scooby-Doo series especially compiled to mark the golden anniversary." I am so excited that they are finally releasing these episodes to commemorate the 50th anniversary. I must admit, out of all the options, I never would have thought they would have done this. I hope the "50 Cartoon Collection" set will include a bunch of unreleased episodes as well!

Awesome, but I wish they would get the lead out as far as releasing Get A Clue and Be Cool. Those are great shows and I am dying on the vine waiting for releases. 4/4/2019 07:50:57 pm
Definitely, I hope they include even the unpopular series in that 50 cartoon collection :)

I am boycotting this set for two reasons... one, the price is too high especially for one missing episode, I will not be purchasing. Batman and robin and the other good episodes are on the other set, 15 episodes and you can get it for less than twenty dollars, 8 not nine remaining episodes is not worth twenty five dollars.

I thought it was a really high price too for just 8 episodes! Though I suppose it's kinda like 16, since they're 43-minute long episodes as opposed to the normal 22 minutes. But it's still a bit expensive.

The two episodes that I want on the cartoon collection are uncle Albert Albert and wedding bell boos

I hope they'll do a mix from each series. Idk it's weird, but if they're going to advertise it as "the best of Scooby," I feel like they need to include some episodes from already released series like Where Are You and such. I guess my opinion on what episodes they should include is the following (I picked one from each series, but it would be great if they include more!):

I will definitely be supporting the New Movies Almost Complete Set. They did well to sort out all the issues but I guess the artists/their estate were coming to their senses by finally playing ball. They agreed to do the series in the first place. I can live with one episode being missing from the set.

It's very odd that the Addams Family refused to allow the release of their episode. That's honestly the one I would have least expected to have issues, given HB made their own Addams Family series in the 1970s and that's been released on DVD.

The way they have released the sets over the years has been frustrating. They are fully aware of these missing episodes and those 5 episodes is baffling. They released a bunch of the short cartoons on love of the snack to fill in some of the gaping holes of the series and your guide has been very helpful in pointing out the exact ones and picking out which DVDs to get and which to avoid. If any year we should get sets to complete our collection this should be it. I saw a post today that suggests wb will likely re-release older DVDs with new “50th anniversary” covers on them in the style of the new Scooby doo movies series. September is still a way off and on top of this I’m hoping for a commemorative edition of zombie island. That awful disc they released with no disc art is terrible. Never know which way it goes up and a film like that is seriously lacking special features and related cartoons. Again, I hope they are smart and do this in time for zombie island 2

I can't comprehend why they won't release those 5 "The Scooby-Doo Show" episodes. With the other series, I can understand why they might be skeptical in releasing Scrappy and Get A Clue given a lot of fans' negative reactions to them. But there should be no reason why those 5 episodes would be a problem to release, and I'm sure they'd get a lot of money as well. I'm so glad my guide has been helpful for that!

Cool! With how many times they've rereleased this series, I'm actually surprised they haven't done this already. The cover art is a bit off though, it's just some stock art pose rather than the actual What's New, Scooby-Doo animation.

I noticed today as well that What’s New has an complete series dvd coming out this summer, yes the art work is about 30 years too early.

Yeah the back art for the almost complete is bland but the back art for the lost episodes is much better 4/6/2019 05:22:03 pm
@The Cop Yeah, I just looked at the back cover art and I definitely agree! Looks great! 4/6/2019 05:20:46 pm
June 4 is apparently THE day for Scooby releases, as there are now a total of 4 new DVDs being released on that day. That irritates me that they couldn't get the artwork right though, as it would have been so easy for them to just pick the correct one, even if it was just another stock pose.

HA! This is so typical. I literally JUSTt finished watching (for the first time ever) all these missing episodes on an incredibly bad quality download file due to the fact that I logically assumed they were NEVER going to get an official release!

That's pretty funny that you would watch them finally on the same week they were announced for release, 14 years after the first incomplete DVD came out lol.

Yeah it's pretty ironic (in a pretty annoying way) lol 4/11/2019 10:50:02 am
I'm positive it's John Astin preventing it, since the 90s series he voiced Gomez in isn't allowed to be released either, yet the HB 70s series he's not in has been released. But as for the reason, I have no idea why he wouldn't want it released. It's very odd.

The whole thing just sounds odd, not to mention beyond pointless why anyone would genuinely want to block it. And that's even more annoying abut the 90's Addams Family series since I love that show!

I've never seen the '90s series, but I remember the '70s cartoon was god awful. I couldn't even make it through an episode. I think I ended up selling the DVD. Is the '90s one anything like that?

Lol. Yeah the 70's cartoon does look very generic. The 90's series however was similar to alot of the other meta animated shows from that era where it kind of knew how over the top some of its characters were and just rolled with it. I'd definitely recommend it if you're a fan of the 2 live action movies from the 90's. 4/11/2019 02:58:29 pm
That's good to hear. I am a fan of the two live action films, so I'll definitely watch it if it's ever released on DVD haha.

I was curious if any one knew if the episodes released on DVD will be available on boomerang streaming service June 4th as well?

I was actually wondering this too. I would assume so, as there's no reason that Boomerang can't have them on there.
