Given the intriguing results from last week's poll, which also included Ghoul School and Reluctant Werewolf, I thought it would be interesting to find out people's favorites of that era.
Now, onto the results from last week's poll! A lot of Scooby episodes over the years have used groups of the classic Universal movie monsters together, like Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein, etc. Which one did it best? A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts - 11 A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle - 10 Ghoul School - 8 Reluctant Werewolf - 5 Super Scary Movie Night - 2 The Ghoul, The Bat & The Ugly - 1 Who's Minding the Monster? - 0 I was admittedly a bit surprised that "Who's Minding the Monster?" got no votes. It's a quirky episode, but I still think it's a lot of fun. If I were to have voted, I honestly would have chose "A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle." This will probably surprise those who know me and my love of Ghoul School. While I love Ghoul School, I feel like it's kind of it's own thing and the parents barely show up. If you're going for "classic," I love how "A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle" took a spin on the classic monsters and made them the ones that needed help from the gang. This is besides the fact that I'm a sucker for any episodes to do with spooky castles! The lore behind The Ghost of Dr. Van Helsing was also a really interesting choice on the writers' part, since Van Helsing was Dracula's age-old enemy. I would love to see a movie-length episode of this, honestly.

Yay, somebody else like the Get a Clue Episode. As for this weeks vote you are a total monster, these 3 were my go to films when I was growing up, but I guess it goes to Boo Brothers. I love the Reluctant Werewolf but have to admit it is the weakest of the 3. Ghoul School probably is the best, I watched it last week alongside reading the Wolfman of Grimwood, but the whole mystery aspect and treasure hunt of Boo Brothers wins it for me, even if the ending is a little rushed. I mean the butler hates them and wants the money for himself, yet suddenly seems alright with them leaving the mansion to a bunch of ghosts and donating the money to orphans?

Haha, yeah it would be hard for me to pick as well. I was curious though after so many people picked Reluctant Werewolf and Ghoul School for last week's poll.

It's good, feels a little slow paced and drags on here and there, not much really hooked me after first 2 chapters and it was a little difficult to keep my interest here and there. Also, Scooby's speech and age are other issues I have with it. 1/20/2020 08:32:47 pm
Those are the typical critiques I've heard, though I guess I don't mind any of those things (though I'm probably biased haha).

I go with Boo Brothers since it's my fav Scooby movie. Second place would be Reluctant Werewolf, which is in my top 5. Even though Ghoul School is technically my least favorite of these 3, it's still in my top 10-15.

Interesting choices! Why is Ghoul School your least favorite?

The other 2 are just more entertaining to me personally. 1/20/2020 02:22:37 pm
Makes sense, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. I personally hold these 80s films in higher esteem than many of the more recent DTVs post-2001.

I like boo brothers the most cause it's the most mysterious of the three. I enjoy all of them but i think boo bros is just a bit better

I agree that Boo Brothers is the most mysterious of the three, and it's sooo hard to choose between that and Ghoul School because of it!
