Here are the results from last week's poll. Surprisingly, it looks like "Hang in There, Scooby-Doo" just barely got edged out by the second live action film!
Which of the following episodes/films with a pterodactyl as one of the main villains? Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed - 36 Hang in There, Scooby-Doo - 34 Scary Christmas - 14 Scooby-Doo and the Sky Town Cool School! - 13

All of the camping episodes are good which makes it hard to pick just one. In the end, I’ll go with Camp Scare because of how dark it was compared to the others.

I had a hard time choosing between Camp Scare and "The Caped Crusader Caper," but I ended up choosing Camp Scare for its dark tone. I really do like gentlemanly Batman in "The Caped Crusader Caper" though lol.

Speaking of that Batman WildwindVampire...I do wonder why he wasn’t used in Guess Who rather than the modern Batman. For a show that’s trying to be retro having a continuation of the 60’s Batman would’ve been ideal for that show and they could’ve even continued the storyline like they did with the Cher and Sandy Duncan episodes. Just a thought that popped in my head he he. 5/30/2021 05:29:07 pm
I was kind of wondering that too. 60s Batman would have made a ton more sense, especially given they already met him twice in The New Scooby-Doo Movies, Guess Who is a sequel in spirit too. I've not watched a lot of old 60's Batman stuff, but I know the one is Scooby was a lot more polite and gentlemanly than the one in the actual 60s cartoons haha.

Actually, Olan Soule, who played Batman and the great Casey Kasem played Robin in the two Scooby-Doo crossovers also played the Dynamic Duo in The Adventures of Batman in the Batman/Superman Hour in 1968. Both men reprised the roles in all but one season of The Super Friends. 5/30/2021 11:52:43 pm
Yes, I'm definitely thinking of the Adam West and Burt Ward cartoons. I honestly had no idea that there was a full series of Olan Soule and Casey Kasem, but that's super cool. Thanks so much for letting me know about those! I absolutely need to get on buying those DVDs then, because I've always wanted more "gentlemanly Batman" content haha.

The series set runs about $20-25 USD on e-bay at the moment. 5/31/2021 07:39:44 pm
Thank you! I'll be sure to pick up The Adventures of Batman DVD and not the New Adventures one then haha. It seems like TV shows did that a lot back then, even down to The Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show in 1979 and The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show in 1983.

I didn't even look at the other options and immediately went for Camp Scare. "Caped Crusader" is good, but it isn't really based off camping. Camp Scare has always been a favourite with it's atmosphere and dark tone. It's in my Top 5 Scooby Movies.

Yah some of these episodes had the gang in going camping but they weren’t heavily settled on camping.

You're correct, I just wanted to include all the possible options to be as thorough as possible, in case anyone did want to pick some of the ones that include camping but the plot isn't heavily based around it.

I was also sad about that lol. I feel like "Hang in There Scooby-Doo" should have won, especially given the live action movie's pterodactyl was based off of that one!

I honestly enjoy the second live action film for what it is, even though it's not perfect. I'd say I even like it a little better than the first live action. Do you like the first live action?

It's ok. I felt like the fart humor was far worse in the second one and the Scrappy twist actually made me chuckle even though it would make me ANGRY in an actual show. The humor works better for me in the first one. Second one was just bad all around imo. Cyber Chase did the returning ghosts way better 5/30/2021 11:47:55 pm
I think I would have been more accepting of the Scrappy twist had it not led to 19+ years of "Haha Scrappy sucks!" type jokes. If it were a one-off, I could have dealt with it, but it created this whole chain reaction where the character can't even be brought up without ridiculing him which is a bit too much IMO. Agreed Cyber Chase did it better though.

@Matt, I actually like Scooby Doo 2, even if in more of an ironic way than a genuine one. Monsters Unleashed is honestly the only live-action movie I mostly enjoy. I don't really like the first live-action movie, there's something odd and strange about it, besides the Scrappy stuff. I don't hate it (besides what they did to Scrappy), but I don't like it. 5/31/2021 09:31:03 am
I'd be incredibly surprised if Camp Scare didn't win!

The thing is, the Scrappy hate train started before that movie though. Cartoon Network was really what started it. 5/31/2021 07:42:17 pm
Good point. I forget sometimes that they made fun of him in the commercial shorts (and I guess The Scooby-Doo Project too).

I try to understand business decisions, but Boomerang's decisions on what shows to show just baffle me. It seems like a lose/lose for both the classic fans and the viewer statistics. I just don't see why anyone would watch Boomerang if it is just the less popular Cartoon Network series. I think they should show mostly old stuff (a few 2000s or 2010s show is ok but not too many) on Boomerang and use some of the time Cartoon Network's about 5 main series they show (Teen Titans Go, Total Drama Rama, Gumball, etc.) to show some more modern throwbacks if they want to show those 5/31/2021 10:50:30 pm
Many of WB's decisions just baffle me in general. Boomerang becoming "less popular Cartoon Network" doesn't make any sense to me either and I can't imagine their ratings are very good. I'd also be okay with a few 2000s/2010s series, but not nearly as many as they have. I haven't talked to anyone who says they like the current Boomerang, everyone's opinion seems to be that it was best when they were showing actual classic cartoons. I have no idea why they seem to be sticking with this strange "less popular CN" format.

Maybe they think there’s not a market for it but I promise that there is more of a market for The Jetsons and The Flintstones than modern Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry ripoffs and some Wizard of Oz show (?). To be fair they do play classic Looney Tunes, classic Tom and Jerry, and Scooby Doo Where are You constantly, but they used to go beyond their big 3 6/1/2021 10:30:02 am
Interesting, and yeah it's hard to believe they wouldn't see Flintstones as having more of a market than some random Wizard of Oz spinoff haha. I haven't looked at Boomerang's schedule in a while, but it's good to know they're at least playing some classic Scooby!

That's a great list! A little surprised to see Bravo Dooby Doo so high up, but it's definitely a great episode! With "Never Ape an Ape Man," I enjoy the episode but I wouldn't say it's among my favorites of the franchise. The ape man was a little dull for me as a villain personally, but I by no means hate the episode.

I enjoy Never Ape an Ape Man but I do see it as one of the weakest episodes of the original series. But certainly a good episode
