I have to go with 1970s, even though it had some meh points, like the first SD&SD series (Scrappy is at his worst in 1979-1982, except for the 2002 movie) and even a few lazy NMovies episodes, and Laff-a-Lympics (if this even counts) could be boring. But other than, everything was great and classic. This decade had TSDS (my fav Scooby series), the second season of WAY (second fav), a lot of fun NMovies episodes and a nostalgic Scooby Goes Hollywood. Most of this decade was great. And when the worst of your decade is just "mediocre", that's still much better than some of the shitbombs of other decades.

Thank you for asking! I would say 1970s are my favorite decade as well, just because of the nostalgia and how it helped create that classic formula for the series. I would certainly count Laff-a-Lympics in that decade. Then, 1969, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. I'd say they're all pretty close, because there were good and bad things in every decade. I'm hoping the 2020s won't disappoint as a decade!

What about 1980s? 1/6/2020 07:49:15 am
Oops haha, I don't know how I missed those. Here's the correct ranking: 1970s, 1969, 1990s, 2000s, 1980s, and 2010s. It's hard to rank with there being good and bad things from each decade.

Voted for 2000-2009 decade cause i was a child during that time. It has 2 movies from the "dark era" (Alien Invaders, cyber chase), and it's the WNSD era which i love very much (it's my generation's series and movies after all). I even like get a clue. The 2 original live actions are nostalgic too. I mean the only weak point for me is the 3rd live action from CN which i also like a bit.

Definitely makes sense that you would want to pick the generation that had the Scooby you grew up with! I like Get A Clue as well! Nice to meet a fellow GAC fan! :) I enjoy the 3rd live action movie as well, possibly more than the original two if I'm honest.

Οbjectively the WBSD era isn't the best but i love it he most. I grew up with WNSD and movies like pitates ahoy, chil out, aloha etc. 1/7/2020 10:15:07 am
I totally get that, "The Loch Ness Mess" is my favorite episode partially because of nostalgia (it was one of the first episodes I saw as a kid, on a VHS tape), even though it's not the best. It doesn't have to be perfect for you to love something :)

90's for me, era I grew up in and was great getting all the re-runs of the classics on cartoon network before the resurgence from Zombie Island and the other direct to video movies of the late 90's

You know, I debated saying 1990s too instead of the 1970s/1969 era, but only two of the revival films were in that era, and we pretty much just got that along with a few Pup episodes and Arabian Nights, the latter of which was horrible.

Idea(s) for a poll: Favorite Tom Ruegger developed/created Scooby show (1983-1988) or Favorite 1980s Scooby movie (which didn't have any involvement from Tom Ruegger, weirdly enough)

I feel like everyone would just pick Pup for the first idea, but I think the second one is an interesting idea! Thank you!

Even though I grew up watching Scooby in the late 70’s and I was obsessed with Pup and 13 Ghosts as a kid, I chose 2010-2019. Mystery Incorporated and Be Cool, Scooby Doo were both so amazing to me! I’ve loved me some Scoobs my whole life and even the bad Scoobs I usually think aren’t THAT bad. But good grief, the last 2 movies... what huge let downs they were. Guess a lot of the people that grew up loving the originals that the movies were “sequels” to feel that way. Anyways... just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. Been coming here for years... but first time ever leaving a comment! Yay!

I thought the DTVs were pretty solid too until the end of the decade! I miss those 13 Spooky Tales DVDs! We got usually at least a couple previously-unreleased episodes plus a new special. I used to watch every Scooby film multiple times, though I actually haven't been rewatching the DTVs now for a couple years now. Should probably get back on that! Leave a Reply. |
