Nope! It's them trying to deliver a mackerel fish while avoiding crooks near a river. The Maltese Mackerel is a parody of an old movie called the Maltese Falcon.

This season alone probably takes the whole SD&SD '80-'82 to the bottom of Scooby shows. It's... bad, the worst Scooby season ever. The strange stuff with Yabba, Scrappy and Deputy is garbage, and the regular stuff with Scooby, Shaggy and Scrappy is dull and forgettable for the most part. And the weird crap with Uncle Fearless and these 3 working for his agency solving cases, like wtf. I guess I'll go with Where's the Werewolf? cuz it was interesting and kinda fun seeing Scooby turn into the villain basically, trying to kill Shaggy and Scrappy lmao. This is the golden standard of this season, everybody. That crazy stuff was memorable and fairly enjoyable at least. And notice how the main image on Scoobypedia of this ep looks like that scene in Mystery 101 from Be Cool.

Absolutely agree. The Uncle Fearless thing was weird, especially with the fact that he just showed up once and then never appeared again. I picked "Where's the Werewolf?" too! You and I have very similar tastes in episodes :)

Yeah, Uncle Fearless was only in Disappearing Car Caper around the back half of this season (and in a photo in the first ep Maltese Mackerel). Where's the Werewolf? felt like a 1980-1981 episode, which by this point has become great quality for 1982. 9/20/2020 10:02:58 am
I wonder why they only had him appear in one episode. The first half of the season kinda feels like it's setting it up to have Uncle Fearless be this "mystery" person who the audience will never see the identity of, and then he just randomly shows up in one episode and doesn't appear again, which makes little sense.

This is an easy one for me because Snow Job Too Small is my favorite ,80s episode. Not only does it have a great villain and creative gags but it also made rolling snow balls not boring for the first time since That's Snow Ghost. I also really liked the color scheme. Plus, this marks Scott Menville's first voice work for Scooby Doo media. There are only three other episodes I like in this particular season. Comic Book Caper for just being plain interesting. Misfortune Teller for its animation bump and Where's the Werewolf for werewolf Scooby.

Snow Job Too Small would have been my second pick if not for "Where's the Werewolf?"
